What’s the most unusual name a child in your kids class at school has had?
Almost every other child I know is called Harry, Theo, Leo, Olivia….would love to hear some unusual examples of names!

I’d never heard of Lark as a name, until I read an article about predicted 2026 names and it was one of the names listed (can’t remember the others, but that stood out).

Logix
Keevi-Loi
Ian

I deffo appreciate the broader thinking, we don’t need more Henrys tbh!

Edited

None of us are British-English born, but when I was thinking about the name, suddenly just popped into my mind and I knew that will be it (I knew 2 really nice guys with that name). So now we have Ian. It's actually and old Scottish name, meaning 'Lord is gracious.' Though I didn't know about the meaning before.

I think if you want an unusual name nowadays in a sea of -ies and -as, you have two options:

(a) go full unique (see above), make up a name from scratch if you like e.g. Spatula, Gravel, Neutron.
(b) go ‘old school’ 1950s-1980s so Barry, Colin, Steve, Sheila, Deborah, Carol.

You will guarantee no other kids have the same name as your DS/DD.

I love Deborah, never met a bad one! I knew a young Shirleyann too.

And any Juliets? I like that, too.

Surely no one with Japanese heritage would call their child Tokyo!

Brits don't tend to be called London and Americans aren't often called Washington or New York now are they?!
