I have friend who work there who I now can’t get hold of as messages not delivering. The national alerts are sounding on our phones now. I’m paralysed with fear, my kids are screaming

Please unparalyse and see to your children.

Right. I don't know where she is, but the children are obviously panicking.

Edited

I think she means her friend works in the airport, and she's also in Dubai?

Oh I see, thank you. I couldn't work it out.

My post got deleted for saying that, and I didn't say it as directly!

Don't waste your time and emotion replying to ignorant posters. Just be safe. 💐

You said ‘my kids are screaming’ not ‘my kids were screaming’ so obviously people thought they were currently screaming and therefore advised you to support them and help calm them down. No need call people stupidly pathetic for that.

I hope you're okay, I couldn't imagine what you're going through. Please ignore any negative comments, no one knows how they'd react in such a traumatic situation.

You need to find a way to calm yourself.
Distract the children with a game. Sing songs . Tell stories.
We can't choose the situations we find ourselves in but we can choose how we respond to them

Burj Al Arab struck by Iranian drone & on fire. Live footage on GB News.
Also a few more pictures inside T3 of damage, we aren’t seeing any major damage at the airport though.

Use twitter trending. Keep clicking on most recent. They will be deleted. The explosions are drones being intercepted apparently.

I believe Burj was evacuated some time ago. It was anticipated.

This is terrible for you, sending a 🫂 Try to distract yourself an kids with a familiar story or song they like

. Is the safety advice to stay put?

Thanks.

My teen is there visiting friends in a high rise apartment in the Marina, they are all terrified. The explosions have been going on all day, eased off a bit, then they were woken by loud phone alerts and more explosions which sound really close.

Best wishes.

They need to be really careful about flying glass. Curtains drawn, go into corridor or down to underground car park if pos. Take a duvet and bed down in an underground car park for the night. Luckily there isn’t an issue with street crime so this is an option.

register with embassies. Pack grab bags.

Follow embassies and Dubai ministries. Do not get in trouble by sharing videos.

Keep everything charged. Power in Dubai is good, but don’t be caught out.

The people at the airport have been relocating to the underground car parks. Maybe no signal getting through because of the steel structure

piscofrisco · 28/02/2026 22:26

This is a nightmare for everyone involved. People have gone for a holiday and ended up in the middle of a war. Doesn’t matter what you think of Dubai personally-we can all have sympathy for unsuspecting tourists stuck in an unfamiliar place not knowing what to do or what is going on. I hope you and everyone else out there are ok OP.

FarAwayFuneral · 28/02/2026 22:26

Looks like somebody left the gate open on the Smug Dickhead enclosure this evening.

Whatever one thinks of that country, it’s really quite revealing for anybody to choose to use this thread as a halo-polishing exercise in mocking people in a frightening, very real, emergency.

Underground car park sounds like a better option if possible.
