Has dubai airport been hit?

If you are in any of the effected areas you should register your presence with the Foreign Office.

They put this out on twitter 20 mins ago.

This sounds like a probable military style evacuation likely.

Having been evacuated by the foreign office staff who met us at the airport. I was impressed.a

I"m flicking channels but GB News have it as 'breaking' news.

Thanks.

My teen is there visiting friends in a high rise apartment in the Marina, they are all terrified. The explosions have been going on all day, eased off a bit, then they were woken by loud phone alerts and more explosions which sound really close.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 28/02/2026 21:44

I totally understand your concern and am not minimising it but don’t forget that Dubai is extremely international with hundreds of thousands of Iranians living there, so I don’t think they will want to do too much harm….

Londonrach1 · 28/02/2026 21:45

Stay put follow advice from the foreign office. Share your location and contact details with family.

Jennikk · 28/02/2026 21:46

Yes the airport has been hit, we’re hearing here that families have been killed. The media here is like a total blackout and videos on social media are being deleted. I can’t believe this is happening it’s horrific

Hmmm - the Iranian regime hasn't been too concerned about killing Iranian nationals of late.

I’m in Abu Dhabi on holiday. Our flight was going to be 11am tomorrow but we have been cancelled obviously and it’s now rearranged for 4 March at 2am from Dubai. So that’s annoying but it is what it is

just lying here in our hotel (we are in th Hyatt) and really hoping the next few days go quickly and peacefully. There has been 4 explosions that we heard today but all is calm in the hotel.

I have a friend on holiday in Dubai supposed to be flying back tomorrow morning also. I hope you are all home soon.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/02/2026 21:50

CNN now reporting Trump confirms ayatollah's death.

Nutmuncher · 28/02/2026 21:50

Follow all the guidance about sheltering in place- but leave as soon as you physically can OP. This unprecedented situation could rapidly unravel beyond control and western tourists would become prime targets for a cornered regime. Stay fully alert of your situation. Curtains drawn in your room, keep away from windows and have your passports and documents ready to go, phones fully charged.

I have friend who work there who I now can’t get hold of as messages not delivering. The national alerts are sounding on our phones now. I’m paralysed with fear, my kids are screaming

The regime have been killing loads of their own people in the streets I’m sure they would not care

Footage on GB News of smoke in shopping area of T3 with people being evacuated to underground car parks. Report is that the airport has ‘allegedly’ been struck by Iran.

The first priority is to calm your children down, and help assure them that they are safe.

They are after US military targets. Agree it’s not a comfortable situation but equally the likelihood is that normality will resume in the UAE before long.

I always said I'd never holiday in dubai and I hope everyone who said it was perfectly safe for tourism / work / living all feel stupid now.
Only themselves to blame if they feel scared. Its not like we didn't know Dubai was at risk - the Middle East has always been volatile. Plus I'd be scared to even fart with all the rules they have in place.
DD is studying teacher training and so many young people go there to teach if they can't get jobs (we're in Scotland so lots of graduates are like only 21). I'd be pulling my hair out if my child were stuck there today. Fortunately, she agreed months ago it wouldn't be something she ever did, she'd sooner just cut grass.

Do be quiet. Your comments are so massively unhelpful.

Right. I don't know where she is, but the children are obviously panicking.

Official confirmation that Dubai International was hit (not sure if drone / missile / debris from interception)

Little sympathy for anyone who chooses to go to Dubai

Well, it's a good job nobody is asking you for any, isn't it?
