She doesn't look anorexic, she looks slim. I was like this until I hit about 27, my sister is still like this, we eat plenty (it's now caught up with me!)

So we can’t have slim models now? Some people are naturally like this. They shouldn’t hide because people want to look like them.

It's a bit daft. I skim over clothes on very slim people because I know it'll look crap on me.

I don’t think your daughter’s anorexia has anything to do with slim models. I appreciate that you must be stressed out of your mind but it’s a very complicated mental illness and it won’t help to become fixated on blaming outside sources. Maybe get some support for yourself while you are going through this with your daughter

I literally couldn't get above 7st until I turned 34, apart from during my 3 pregnancies.

I agree with you. But for some reason, Mumsnet thinks INCREDIBLY thin is healthy and an excellent role model for girls. And that the only only alternative is morbidly obese.

I did do a bit of an ‘eek she’s thin’ over that photo - went on the website and the same model is featured in other photos where she doesn’t look as noticeably small - which made me wonder if they’d photoshopped that to make her look even thinner, which would be more irresponsible!

I weigh 7st 10lbs, and am 5ft 4, at 55. I was 7st 12 on my wedding day. 32yrs ago. That’s just me. Women like me exist. If I started a thread calling a retailer irresponsible for using a plus sized model there’d be hell to pay.

In that picture she looks underweight. If you go into the holiday section, she's pictured in different clothing and looks like someone who is naturally that size. I agree with you and question that picture.

Agree, the model is too thin to be representative of the average customer. I’ve seen this a lot with Boden and it puts me off. It’s 2026 Boden, wake up.

In which case all Boden models should be 73kg, 160cm, white women. Or did you mean modal average? Or median? Personally I prefer a bit of variety.

More to the point, why would a child (with or without anorexia) be buying clothes from Boden??
