Now we have to meet his costs in prison. I’m guessing they won’t shack him up with the proles, so that’s going to be expensive. I reckon old Charlie Boy should meet the cost. Why should tax payers contribute further?

Ok. You're right, I'm wrong. The evidence is all there.

Well done!

Let’s hope Andrew has some of that grace.
Methinks not

treeowl · 19/02/2026 11:28

There are going to be so many memes about this!

plentyofsunshine · 19/02/2026 11:30

He'll give a "no comment" interview surely?

You said at 11.03 *we don't know if there was any payment"

Then denied saying it. Then edited your post to remove the denial. Just let it drop, and accept there was a huge payout to VG and the Royals paid it! (most likely QE2)

Interesting point.

TheignT · 19/02/2026 11:31

KatyaKanani · 19/02/2026 11:01

Exactly. It's an oft repeated claim, which I've not found any evidence of.
No-one knows who paid VG or how much.
It didn't help the poor woman in the end, whether money was paid or not.

Did she pass any of the money on to the girls she recruited? I think she did promise something at the time but can't remember to he details.

sittingonabeach · 19/02/2026 10:55

Do you get a life sentence for insider dealing type crimes, because this is what he has been arrested for?

You can get a life sentence for Treason. In fact, I think you can still get the death penalty in the UK for High Treason (don't quote me on that though)

Maia77 · 19/02/2026 11:32

He'll probably get off lightly, but at least this sends a message that accountability doesn't only apply to the plebs.

If Charles does anything he will be criticised, if he doesn't he will be criticised. Sometimes you just can't win.

BonBonDong · 19/02/2026 11:33

Him being arrested means that the police can now look at all his papers and devices at the address. One wonders what they might turn up?

This has nothing to do with his sexual antics. This is his behaviour as a trade envoy.

Yes. His antics as a trade envoy, which the British state and the British Monarchy enabled then covered up for a decade and a half.

I think the death penalty for treason was eventually removed but long after it was stopped generally. It was certainly talked about some years ago. I must do a Google.

Google tells me it ended in 1998.

Regardless of whether this is about the Epstein files or ‘just’ about misconduct in public office’, I’m hoping that he’ll be charged with something. It will still be a lot better than I ever expected.

And hopefully the investigation will lead to more evidence concerning his links with Epstein coming to light.

Will he finally decide to reveal all he knows? If he doesn’t, will Mandelson, who will also be part of this investigation?

Sadly, I have my doubts. There are powerful men, including the current POTUS, who have every reason to conceal what their own involvement in the Epstein scandal.

It isn’t “just“ misconduct in public office. It’s a serious offence. I’m not certain that being a member of the royal family is, in fact, a public office, but if he has abused that position then that strikes at the heart of the whole reason for the existence of the royal family. As has been previously noted on here.

Isn’t it likely that KC3 had advanced notice of this last year when he began the moves to unroyal AM-W?

Acting on behalf of the UK government for business interests is what justified his public existence and payments. If there was an offence, and it’s by no means clear that there was, then it was one that was committed in this country and he would be put on trial in this country. And punishments would be served in this country. Weighed against the Epstein debacle those would seem to have far more chance of success, though the Epstein emails may well contain evidence that might be relevant.

I just don’t think the Epstein thing is going to go anywhere as far as Andrew M-W is concerned. This one might have legs. If there has been an offence of misconduct, then it was when he committed against the whole of the UK.

TheMorgenmuffel · 19/02/2026 11:35

Crikey. They must be damn damn sure they have good evidence then. Good.

Yes, hasn’t there always been rumours of shady financial deals & favours?

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 19/02/2026 11:37

What is a 'trade envoy' and what sort of information is he supposed to have given away, to whom? I'm confused! 🤔

That is asking a lot for someone to reply to that. Can I make a polite suggestion. Google what Andrew's role was as a Trade Envoy and then look at what he passed on to Jeffrey Epstein, information that he had gleaned or had come from the Dept of Trade & Industry or the government in general

RainbowBagels · 19/02/2026 11:41

Netcurtainnelly · 19/02/2026 11:23

Bet he's glad his mums not around today .

Doubt it. There is no way she would have given permission for the police to enter Royal premises. He was able to carry on for as long as she was alive. Shes left a steaming pile of shit behind for her eldest son, who has been proved right re the Trade Envoy job.

Well, exactly. Do we think AMW is bright enough to clean up his computers properly or will he be undone by a forensic tech poking through his files?

I can already knit so I am ready😊

Thoughts for his poor bastard solicitor who will be begging him to shut the fuck up and stop answering the questions at interview 😂

I hope it is a very busy custody suite and that he has to spend a long time waiting in a cell that still stinks of the previous occupant's piss

He won't be in a cell.

Here you go, I've already been sent one.

He is unlikely to get what he deserves, as this arrest is only about the trade envoy issues, but it's a start. I'm sure Charles will be providing him an expensive lawyer wiyh tax payers money.

Prince (not) Andrew arrested.

Not just Jeffrey Epstein. It looks like he also passed information on to David Rowland. I suspect there are other nefarious 'contacts' he has passed information onto. It was always a complete mystery why so many oligarchs and criminals just handed AMW money and befriended him. It is possible that now we know.
