You said "we don't know there was any payment"

Court records show there was. I have no idea why you are so hung up on this. It can't just be for the sake of accuracy because we really have moved on from that chapter of Andrew.

I am not "hung up". I have no idea why you're so personal. Shrugs.
I just like facts and not conjecture.
Tis all.

treeowl · 19/02/2026 11:20

We don't know if there was any payment.

@KatyaKanani didn't you post the above?

“A statement from the Treasury, in response to a Freedom of Information request, ruled out any public funding: "No public money has been used to pay legal or settlement ”

What are the Treasury referring to here?

😆😆

It was a bad move by Queenie imo and something that will taint her memory.

Hmmm, I am sure she consulted top notch lawyers and was given legal advice and that´s what she was advised to do. Not due to what had come out, but because of what had yet to come out. I am reading Entitled, it is shocking, and the worst stuff wasn´t included because the author and his editors were afraid of being sued!

Topseyt123 · 19/02/2026 11:20

Good. It's been a long time coming and he deserves everything he gets.

Looking forward to Twenty Four Hours In Police Custody.

I'd pay good money to watch that episode!

No, I don't know anything about the Treasury.
I was just wondering about how much the payment was and it's origins, but that seems to be upsetting people.
If VG was paid, I hope it gave her some comfort.

I don't think they care that much about public opinion to go to this extent just for the sake of a show. it won't 'sate' anyone anyway, cos the obvious question is, who else?

I think they do. The police are coming in for a lot of well-deserved criticism for hushing things up for so long and pretending there was nothing about Andrew to investigate. Lots of arse covering ahead, I imagine.

I want to be the one interviewing him. I would say the word Mr very loudly when addressing him.

Ooooo, interesting. I think I want to be every fucking person in the entire police station the more I think about it. Even another inmate would do me. It’s the drama, Mick.

Netcurtainnelly · 19/02/2026 11:23

Bet he's glad his mums not around today .

ParylDrafter · 19/02/2026 11:23

Fingers crossed that Andrew finally gets his wish and ends up living in a huge house owned by his brother

WaryHiker · 19/02/2026 11:23

Simonjt · 19/02/2026 10:37

I wonder if he’s ever had a microwave meal before, or instant coffee from a plastic cup.

I hear the coffee he was forced to drink at Pizza Express was pretty foul.

I imagine he doesn't care. He uses everyone and I'm sure that extended to his mother.

(side question: what's the 'knitting by the tumbrils' reference about? : like getting the popcorn out, I get that, but knitting... tumbrils - I'm intrigued 🙂)

The tricoteuses, where women who sat at the foot of the guillotines, watching the people brought in to be executed, they knitted to pass the time between executions, I guess.

Regardless of whether this is about the Epstein files or ‘just’ about misconduct in public office’, I’m hoping that he’ll be charged with something. It will still be a lot better than I ever expected.

And hopefully the investigation will lead to more evidence concerning his links with Epstein coming to light.

Will he finally decide to reveal all he knows? If he doesn’t, will Mandelson, who will also be part of this investigation?

Sadly, I have my doubts. There are powerful men, including the current POTUS, who have every reason to conceal what their own involvement in the Epstein scandal.

I think Trump may have overplayed his hand here. There were apparently 1000 FBI agents redacting the Epstein files, focused on protecting powerful men rather than victims. A decision was clearly made not to protect AMW.

Smells to me like Trump was hoping RF would continue to shield AMW and give him something to point at. Much like when the Clinton's played into his hands by refusing to testify recently.

I very much doubt Trump thought that Amdrew would be arrested. Also worth considering that AMW is not a man with any sort of integrity, if it makes life easier for him to roll on powerful friends he will do it in a heartbeat.

Ok. Stop with the personal renarks now.

I hope everything comes out.

So you edited your post to remove what you said. Are you sure you like facts?!

If he's guilty of misconduct then he deserves the sentence and if he's not guilty he should be cleared.

What's important to me is that no one is above the law and everyone deserves a fair trial.

However I am under no illusion that the conspiracy theorists will be on overtime if he's found not guilty. And if he's found guilty then whatever sentence he gets will be criticised as too lenient.

@KatyaKanani its not personal to pull you up on something you said. You said there was “no evidence of any payment”. That’s what people are correcting.
