Are you now more likely to vote for REFORM (the party)

NC for this and apologies if Q already asked. My quick search yielded no result.

Reform plan to undo the reversal of 2 child cap benefit. Are you now likely (or more likely) to vote for them? There have been endless threads about the welfare bill.

You made the comment that I was old enough to be your granny - and you only knew my age because I told you you were wrong when you were accusing me of being someone else on here

I didn't waltz into my last flat as I said earlier. I got one in an area that no one wanted to live in or I would still be waiting - not sure if you picked that part up - the part that you don't seem to believe

I also don't live in a bubble. I can read. You seem to be suggesting that it was oh so easy to get a council flat when I got one. It wasn't. I would have been waiting ten years plus if I hadn't taken that flat

I have relatives your age that like to talk about how quick it was to get a council home back then and also how cheap rent in general was and buying homes. I’m sorry if the granny comment has upset you just trying to put into perspective how times have changed.
There aren’t many places in England that no one would want to live in if giving the chance these days.
I believe you just saying it’s not like that in most places anymore

Moonshadowmoon · 21/02/2026 13:09

I was on the council waiting lists for years and bid on everything possible, I have friends still on it bidding on everything unsuccessfully. I then privately rented the cheapest place possible around here, still very expensive.

I am 100% aware

I can't carry on arguing with this, but yes you are - in the true sense - ignorant.

Moonshadowmoon · 21/02/2026 13:07

I don’t care how old you are I was just making the point that the real estate sorry I mean property market and council waiting lists have changed massively in thirty years

Actually they've not. You'd have to go back further than that to see significant change. Thirty years ago was only the mid 90s and some of us were alive and working in the field then.

Yes I’m ignorant because I don’t agree with you on immigration whatever. You have no idea where I live so please don’t tell me there are places that are hard to rent because no one wants them, when I was on the list for years and bidded on absolutely everything including places I thought less people would want because I thought that would help my chances. It didnt

Just how diverse is the area you live in @Moonshadowmoon? I’m just baffled how you seem to think stopping brown men coming into the country is more important and will affect your day to day life more than any of the other policies Reform stand for.

The the rich will pay less tax, you’d have a US style healthcare model so no more NHS and you’d have to fund insurances to pay for any healthcare needed, no minimum wage, cuts to benefits, and you’d have no rights when pregnant or being female as we’d be leaving the ECHR and scrapping the equality act.

Does getting rid of brown men really mean that you’re happy at the cost of all the above?

@Moonshadowmoon still genuinely curious if you’re happy to live with all these policies if it means Afghan men are removed from your daily life?

What’s your point now? I’m ignorant because there’s apparently properties no one wants to rent in my area that I somehow don’t know about? Or stupid for disagreeing with you, you’re the poster who had a high opinion of her own intellect so guess you’ll have to break it down for me?

The main parties are slowly selling off the nhs anyway whoever you vote it will most likely be gone in 50 years anyway.

Yes that's right - all left wingers are racist - not Farage and Co

So left wing ideology starting with Marx is built on the concept of an oppressor and an oppressed. Whether that be bourgeoisie and proletariat, strong or weak, rich or poor.

It is very much in the interests of left wing ideology to emphasise the differences between skin colours to create a further division of oppressor and oppressed.

Rather than emphasise what we have in common which in turn creates unity.

By pushing the narrative of division combined with oppressor and oppressed you create victim hood which in turns destroys hope and ambition. This in turn keeps, in this example, people of colour poor or feeling as victims which in turn creates further support for the left.

So yes in my opinion the true racists are those on the left, destroying ambition and hope for their own political gain.

I live in a medium sized town in the west of Scotland. We don't bid here. You go on a list and you wait. There are currently 14k people waiting -, some people have been waiting for decades. I don't have kids as I said previously and at that point if you did have kids you would be more of a priority

I appreciate that I was lucky to get my flat - or I would have been private renting. The issue was as I said previously was that when refugees were offered council flats that no one would take - it was a small amount - something like 20 tops - it became a look what they get compared to Scottish people - if Scottish people had wanted them they could have had them

My line of work is unrelated to anything we are discussing here not that it matters, why can’t I talk about the property market and council lists when I was looking for a home for years and years? Didn’t know I needed a job “in the field” to do that.
I haven’t been personal at all with you and only mentioned the other posters age because the property market has changed so much since she was younger.

Could they really have had them? You say this was 7 years ago and you got your home 25 years ago so a lot changes maybe there were some Scottish who would have taken them. I mean you may be right but people say the same things down here “immigrants do the jobs brits don’t want to do” when I know loads of Brits looking for jobs and willing to take anything.

If Scottish people wanted these homes why were they lying empty? Some people in my home town don't want to live in rough areas as a council tenant.

I see council properties lying empty (and I know they’re council because I know the people that lived there before) for ages before they’re put back up to be let out again. I’m just saying the property market is tough out there and loads of people will take anything.

Im not saying you’re wrong just they might not have been empty because no one wanted to live there. And I’ve heard the “Brits don’t want to do/have that” about certain jobs while I know plenty of Brits doing those jobs or willing to do them so I am more sceptical when I hear that line

I might as well debate with a plate of jelly if you think white people get abused because of their skin colour

Why wouldn't they though? Lived in Japan recently? Or been the only white kid in a school of mostly Asians where you don't get invited to their houses as teens " as white girls are easy,/ immoral/ slags " etc?

Or in South Africa where white people are often blamed for the previous racist apartheid give.

I'm left wing. I'm not a racist

You may not be racist in the classic definition of judging someone by the colour of their skin rather than the content of their character or achievements.

But by emphasising skin colour rather than a colour blind approach you perpetuate division in society rather
than unity and you perpetuate victim hood rather than ambition.

This is what is truly harmful as it destroys futures and hope, and is arguably worse than the ignorant and hateful verbal racist slurs of say the 1970s.

These people genuinely don’t believe you can be racist to whites, the white South Africans deserve it and any mention of grooming gangs they respond with “what about white rapists”.
A relative of mine was one of the only whites in a majority Pakistani school, got beaten up and spat on constantly. They genuinely don’t believe stuff like this happens only whites can be racist.

Then another post online from someone worried their son is becoming too right wing when really he’s just sick of hearing how he’s evil and privileged at school constantly
