Are you now more likely to vote for REFORM (the party)

NC for this and apologies if Q already asked. My quick search yielded no result.

Reform plan to undo the reversal of 2 child cap benefit. Are you now likely (or more likely) to vote for them? There have been endless threads about the welfare bill.

We need controlled immigration. At the end of December last year unemployment in the UK reached its highest level for 5 years. We don't need low skilled workers from other countries filling these jobs.

we have controlled immigration, you need to be coming to a job earning over £41k

It’s not embarrassing I apologise if it’s not true but there are people who do that

You've just accused me of having two accounts and two devices simply because I don't agree with you on here and because of some random number in my user name

There are lots of accounts on here with the word Scottish in them - just going to clarify that that's not me either

Your white relative got assaulted on the daily for years by Pakistani people and no Pakistani people in your school were ever treated poorly? That doesn't diminish the lived experiences of people who encounter racism daily

I lived near a shop run by Pakistani people in my last flat. There were people barred for casual every day racism and worse. I was in the shop one day and the owner was smacked in the face - this is what some people need to deal with simply because of the colour of their skin

There were no Pakistani people in my school, there were a few Africans and East Asians. Not that that matters much.

It’s just noted how you all glossed over what happened to my relative and went straight to insisting the non white kids in my school must have suffered somehow.

Because of course you can’t be racist to white people 🙄 but every white person is privileged and being racist even if they don’t realise it.

People say shit like this incessantly and then wonder why more people vote for reform/restore

Make up your mind is it privileged rich whites voting reform or lowly disadvantaged peasants?

Or maybe just normal people who don’t agree with mass immigration?

It's fairly easy to find out voting demographics, and rich white people are the ones behind Reform trying to get those with little or nothing to vote against their best interests. I haven't said a word about "lowly disadvantaged peasants" so stop putting words in people's mouths, particularly when you have no idea of their background.

I won’t be the first on here to put words in someone’s mouth, I’m neither rich or poor and I’ll vote for whatever party says it will stop this madness. As will many of my friends who are also not rich or poor, if that matters so much.

So you want me to believe they’re all feminists who are only moving because they don’t like how the women are treated? Completely detached from reality

False rhetoric. It's useful to be able to argue your point with attributing comments and beliefs to people when they've said nothing of the kind. Why should anyone take you seriously when you do that?

scottishgirl69 · 21/02/2026 11:26

The issue for me is - as a white person - I am never going to be abused because of the colour of my skin. I'll never know what that feels like.

As for the suggestion that Afghan males are coming to the UK to groom people - do people think that women aren't groomed or maltreated or sexually abused by white men?

Someone is a groomer because of the colour of their skin and the fact that they are fleeing oppression?

Around 7 years ago a number of refugees were given council homes in my home town - these were homes in a rough area that no one wanted to live in

The Scottish defence league turned up - they were given a police escort to and from the train station. They threw smoke bombs at us. They intimidated us - they also had their faces covered - cowards.

Shops had to close - and things are worse now.

It's always the people at the bottom who are for all the ills in society. Unemployed. Disabled - asylum seekers

ForWittyTealOP · 21/02/2026 11:29

Why do you have a problem with women who are educated and intelligent describing themselves as such? Do we need to pretend that we're a bit daffy and daft or that our ability to think hasn't been honed through education? Do you demand this of men as well?
Your anger and discomfort at assertive and educated women is odd.

You as a white person have never been abused because of the colour of your skin but you don’t speak for all white people. It’s very unusual for no one to want to live in a council home no matter how bad the area there are millions on the waiting list

@LoveHearts69 ’We need immigration’.

We need high quality immigrants who can pay for themselves.
Up to now, most of the immigrants have been low paid and are a cost to the economy.

Yes the issue is not that the country is being flooded with immigrants but the fact the country is being flooded with low level people who happen to be mmigrants.

The same with the birthrate. Decrease in accountable responsible parents and increase in low level parents.

Decades ago immigrants came to make a better life for themselves and contributed to the country. Parents had children and contributed. Now too many are taking.

Due to a rapid increase in low level people, we have a huge accountability problem.

I’m not angry you describe yourself as educated and intelligent, but most of us are educated wouldn’t be having this conversation if we couldn’t write. And calling yourself intelligent is a little braggy I’d say the same about a man

I am intelligent. Why shouldn't I say so?
Being educated isn't solely about being able to write.

Is that right - well that's odd that I lived in a council scheme for 25 years that was eventually demolished because people didn't want to live there because of anti social behaviour

You're views don't trump other people's lived experiences Im afraid - I don't appreciate the suggestion that I'm lying

You know what, fair enough. you are free to describe yourself as intelligent.

Being able to read and write is taken for granted an Afghan woman is lucky to be educated to that level. I do think some on here are unaware what it’s like over there

I'm very aware of what life is like for women in certain countries. That still doesn't translate to Afghan men seeking asylum coming over here to groom women and kids

Thechaseison71 · 21/02/2026 11:43

It's interesting to read that everyone would " never" vote for Reform yet people obviously are as they seem to be gaining in popularity.

Yes I agree, plenty are unaware of the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan and its history. If they were, they'd know why there are male refugees from that country.

Didn’t say you were lying, maybe it’s different in Scotland maybe the waiting lists aren’t as long because there’s less people up there.
Was a time I would have lived anywhere, there’s millions of people who will happily live anywhere to have their own place. Hard to believe “no one” wanted to live there but I’m not saying you’re lying

Do you want a UK style ICE as Reform (and the Conservatives) are proposing?
