To be annoyed I had to watch GB News to see coverage of anti women protestors at Southwark

A mother, Miranda Newsom, had her gym membership suspended for a year after reporting an "unmistakably male" trans woman in the female changing room.

Why isn't this on the BBC? The reporter in the video is doing genuinely impressive investigative journalism, didn't we used to have the national broadcaster to do this sort of thing?

The BBC stopped being impartial and the bastion of high quality journalism when it got taken over by the ‘be kind’ men can be women nutters some years ago.

This is the ultra left every bit as nuanced as the ultra right and for me every bit as toxic but with a blindness to their lack of morality only matched by the ultra right.

There is a middle ground that acknowledges conflicts of interest and tries to balance them and to not enable harm but the centre ground is becoming thinner and thinner on the ground.

Farage and Putin and Trump are usually the ones funding these offshoots of society, to cause division. Why do you think they had front row seats at his fave station?

The question is why isn’t the BBC and similar covering these real
stories? This really did happen, there is video right here

Woman banned from using a gym is not newsworthy. There are wars and people starving and children being trafficked etc. You really think that 1 woman being banned from a gym should hit the news in that context?

This is not a left v right thing or a suppression thing or anything else. It is simply not important enough to make headline news.

You don’t think a woman being banned from a publically owned gym because she complained about a man being in her daughters changing room is newsworthy?

The only place I ever come across this even being commented on is MN.

None of my friends, family/IL's, or former colleagues (I'm recently retired) give a toss about it. And some of them are supportive of transpeople's right to use facilities consistent with the gender they identify as.

On that basis, I'd say it's not really something that bothers most people, and therefore not very newsworthy.

As you don't personally know anyone who is bothered, of course it naturally follows that nobody could possibly be bothered. Right?!

Clear as day right?

Nothing to do with the fact that discussing this issue has been made a cancelling offence by a self righteous minority.

If you straight up ask people "Should males be allowed to go into female spaces" you will not get a majority agreeing - it's like 90/10 against

This is a misogyny issue

this is a daylight issue. No wonder it doesn't get discussed, if nobody is able to discuss it and the media doesn't cover it.

Probably because this protest was a MONTH ago, OP.

https://www.facebook.com/share/17hxkCfoDd/

Clearly GB News is having a slow day and has to dredge up weeks-old news to generate the usual outrage clicks.

Please link us to the BBC investigation where a reporter discussed with both sides of the protest to find out why the views were, why they thought them and explored what it really meant to have males in female changing rooms?

No. It's an isolated incident. It's only big news to those that are transphobic. Thankfully the vast majority of the population are not. Therefore it is not newsworthy.

Things happen every day, dogs get lost, homes get broken into, people die. None of these are newsworthy either. They're important only to the people directly affected. They would make the national news if, as a nation, it was important.

It is totally unimportant to me and it is totally unimportant to most people so it doesn't make the news. (Other than on the bigoted news channel that is desperately trying and sadly succeeding to create division in this country).

Why do you think it is transphobic when a female doesn't want a male in a female only space?

The post is not about the when, as if that matters, but that the media organisations we used to rely on to actually investigate things - don't - and so divisive organisations, like GB News, have taken it up instead

I don't think thats OK - thats what I posted.

Dude, no. You don't get to drop out of date rage bait onto a women's forum and then start demanding women Google stuff for you.

You're the one derailing here - I said last the top:

"Why isn't this on the BBC? The reporter in the video is doing genuinely impressive investigative journalism, didn't we used to have the national broadcaster to do this sort of thing?"

And thats the point of the post. Why are the people we used to trust to do this, not doing so?

I'm not demanding anyone google anything, you were the one leaning on that evidence.

The BBC’s left wing bias is shameful and driving many people to the likes of GB news. If the BBC was doing their job there would be no need for GB news.

The posters on here saying the OP is causing division are causing division themselves by believing only their own opinion is correct.

Everyone having the same opinion is group think and incredibly dangerous.

The day that Ozzie Osbourne died, the BBC had this as their top story on thr 9pm news.

The day Zoe Ball did her final radio breakfast show, the BBC ran this as a story on the 9pm news.

So you can rule out 'has to be of world shattering importance for the BBC to run a story at all' from your criteria.

🤣🤣🤣 Ozzie is a globally recognised singer. Zoe Ball had 7 million listeners. You seriously think a random unknown woman being banned from a random unknown gym is on a par? Wow.

I remember Dan Walker saying he had as many people complaining the BBC is left wing as he did people complaining they are right wing. Most of our newspaper groups are openly left or right wing. The BBC is neither. You're seeing what you want to see. You're looking for justification of watching the bigoted idiocy that is GB news. Nobody believes you apart from maybe you.
