Is Keir Starmer a misogynist?

Bertiebiscuit · 09/02/2026 13:30

Starmer seems endlessly surprised that anyone cares about girls being preyed on by grooming gangs, or women and girls being trafficked for sex by Epstein. He is the classic Lefty male for whom women's issues are always "jam tomorrow", who can't even bring himself to admit he knows what a woman even is, despite being married to one,the mother of his children.

I don’t think he hates women, just doesn’t really care about us or think our rights are as important as men’s. He has that typical “”Boy’s Club” demeanour and his treatment of Rosie Duffield has been part and parcel of that.

I very much doubt it. Like a lot of politicians from all sides of the debate, he is trying not to be accused of transphobia and bigotry. We all know how easy it is to gain those labels, and how damaging it can be.

And in doing so he’s failing to give women and girls adequate protection from violence and trafficking perpetrated by men.

Terip · 09/02/2026 14:49

People are really losing the plot about Starmer now.

What next? He built the Death Star and invaded the planet of the Ewoks?

He’s not the devil incarnate.

He said that "the vast majority" of women don't have a penis.

That's nice to know, isn't it?

Thepeopleversuswork · 09/02/2026 14:45

This is nonsense on stilts. This lame old trope about him "not knowing what a woman is" is such a load of shite. I loathed gender self ID and found the Labour party's reluctance to commit to a position on it pathetic but its a huge jump from this to "he doesn't know what a woman is". It's such a tired old argument.

I am not particularly sorry that Starmer is on his way out: he is a weak and unconvincing leader. But there is literally no evidence that he's a misogynist.

Why didn't he just say he knew what a woman was and that they can't become men? He didn't because he doesn't think womens rights are important, they don't deserve them and wanted them to shut up.

Imagine defending a man who wanted people of colour to shut up if they pointed out the injustice of letting white people pretend to black. Would be it a leap to call him racist then when he is so clearly irritated by those who complain against a very obvious injustice. He's clearly on the side of white person in this instance and wants them to shut up and bear the cost for his convenience. How can people not see this?

LVhandbagsatdawn · 09/02/2026 14:55

BlueJuniper94 · 09/02/2026 14:47

Can you explain to me why he failed to condemn the treatment of Rosie Duffield?

He felt she deserved it and she should shut up. Therefore he regards anyone who agrees with her with the same level contempt and hostility. That is hate. Make no mistake.

No I can't, since my psychic powers don't work unless I'm within 15 feet of someone.

I think you're reaching so hard you're in danger of putting your back out.

I'd really recommend talking to someone if you're convinced the prime minister hates you.

Endlessly surprised? I think you're going to have to provide some sources op

YouAreEntitledToMyOpinion · 09/02/2026 15:02

Geez OP give the guy a break! He's very supportive of women...with a penis.

What's next, Jude Law is in love with you?

JoyOfSpecs · 09/02/2026 15:03

Why do you think he's surprised that people careOP? He doesn't sound surprised here.

Directly addressing Epstein's victims, (Starmer) said: "I am sorry, sorry for what was done to you, sorry that so many people with power failed you. Sorry for having believed Mandelson's lies and appointed him and sorry that even now you're forced to watch this story unfold in public once again."https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp37v4kyv3eo

Sir Keir Starmer in front of a red background. He is looking serious.

Keir Starmer apologises to Jeffrey Epstein victims for believing Mandelson's 'lies'

The PM says the depth of the pair's relationship was not known when he was appointed US ambassador.

Has anyone seen what he said to Siobhan Whyte?

CurlewKate · 09/02/2026 15:13

His government was the first to commit to reducing VAWG.

Those are fine words.

Spoilt only in your post by the image of the complete wanker who spoke them.

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/02/2026 15:22

Who do you think would be better for women?

Because if that answer is Reform, you're batshit.

Even though they can't define what WG are.

"He is the classic Lefty male for whom women's issues are always "jam tomorrow"

Labour have given us -

  • The Sex Discrimination Act
  • The Equal Pay Act
  • The Equality Act
  • The Employment Act (enhanced maternity pay and leave, and provided the right to request flexible working.)
  • National Minimum Wage Act (disproportionately benefited women who make up the majority of low-paid workers.)
  • Working Family Tax Credit. Designed to help women who benefited from them five times more than men
  • Work and Families Act . Extended the right to request flexible working to parents of children up to 18
  • Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act

Don’t be coming on this thread with your hard facts and information.

Bertiebiscuit · 09/02/2026 15:41

Maybe "surprise" is a bit too much, he just seems uninterested until he has these issues shouted at him by the likes of Kemi Badenoch, he just seems unconcerned and a bit tuned out otherwise, busy schmoozing Trump and China

Bertiebiscuit · 09/02/2026 15:42

I have a feeling that much of this was achieved by Labour women tbh

These are very old. None of them are Starmer’s. The Tories put in just as much legislation that benefited women and girls.

It's a bit hard to engage in calm adult debate with some one who describes Keir Starmer as a " lefty"!!!

Please tell me how you describe Jeremy Corbyn. I'm genuinely interested.

It is pretty clear Starmer will be gone sooner or later. Maybe save your energy for putting the boot into whoever replaces him @Bertiebiscuit ?
