Inspired by a clip I just saw on Instagram.

Deep breath.

Here goes.

Robin Williams wasn’t particularly funny.

ETA “Start” obviously.

It’s a disaster for young workers starting out on their careers. No mentors they can pop in to see, no competent secretaries who can stand beside their desks and show them how to use the systems, no esprit de corp with their fellow trainees, no working through issues over a sandwich in the staff room.

I rose through the various stages of training in City law firms. I was bullied, harassed, belittled and undermined repeatedly, for years, by bosses and 'mentors.' I was competent and good at my job, but the environments I worked in were bloody awful. Chatting to fellow trainees was discouraged, everyone was paranoid about their own positions anyway, and everyone was pulling the ladder up behind them.

Working from home would have been amazing. I could have focused on my clients and caseload, instead of navigating the toxic shitstorm that awaited me everyday.

So, like everything, it's different for all of us.

I enjoy watching BBC programmes and don't mind paying the TV licence.

Prosecco is unpleasant.

I enjoy eating dairy products. I don't like the trend towards replacing "vegetarian" options on menus with only "vegan" options.

But, that said, Greggs Vegan Sausage Rolls are just as tasty as the meat version.

Greggs vegan sausage rolls are even better than the original!

I agree, I really don’t think I could sit on a bog, emptying my bowels if a bloke was standing in front of me pissing between my legs. 😉

🤣

David Attenborough is a hypocritical old bore.

I find him uninteresting. His documentaries are dull and he ruined sodding straws

Salad cream is delicious
Restaurants that put ‘with all the trimmings’ on their menu ought to be closed down

actually agree with this. FASD is massively underdiagnosed, which doesn't even make sense as it has subtle - but distinctive - visible traits

Not always, it depends when in the pregnancy the damage was done for the facial characteristics to present. I agree that FASD is more commonly misdiagnosed as ADHD or something else - unless already on the radar for alcoholism no mother is going to admit to drinking heavily in pregnancy so we will never really know as there is no test to confirm FASD.

Anyone who claims to be bored just needs a good kick up the arse.

People who don’t exercise are lazy

There is no excuse for being obese

Having loads of books does not make you intellectual. It’s just a form of hoarding.

I have loads more.
The older I get the longer the list.

Short boxy jumpers and wide legged jeans look awful on most people unless they are tall and thin (I say this as a short & dumpy person).

Giving kids names like Jaxon or Nevaeh or adding -Mae is automatically going to reduce their chances of success in life.

It is utter madness for higher earning women to marry lower earning men. And can’t be compared to the reverse situation.

I totally agree. I think people should dress according to their size/shape/body type rather than just following fashion. I'm so glad skinny jeans have gone as I'm only short and dumpy with generous thighs - never going to be a good look on me!

Yerroblemom1923 · 07/02/2026 04:27

And yes to the names - parents really should put a bit of thought into choosing a name that will stand their child in good stead for the future. Rightly or wrongly people will judge the Jayden/Baydon/Kaydon/Jaxon/Klaxon's of this world and it's unfair to limit their chances in life.

Pineapple absolutely does belong on pizza (ducks for cover)

Edited

And that pizza must have olives and anchovies.

I adore anchovies particularly and can eat the little buggers straight out of the jar. And I am sorely tempted to try suck on a tube of pure anchovy paste.

The fear flag hanging, hotel protesting, Tommy Robinson supporting men feel about illegal immigrants is the way many women feel about all men.
I'm just as fearful to have illegally immigrated men around my children as I am any man I don't know. Epstein list just goes to show that once the threat of punishment is lowered / removed a percentage of men will no longer keep up the appearances of respecting women and children.

Breast feeding hurts like hell for some people even if you are doing it perfectly.

100% this! I think if there was more honesty about this the breast- feeding rate would increase. If expectant mothers were told it hurts initially until your poor nipples get used to it (and let's face it, when have they ever been subjected to having a baby hanging off them 24/7 so it's bound to!) rather than being told they "aren't doing it right" would make new mothers more inclined to persevere as it does get easier after a few weeks and your nipples toughen up. This would be more helpful than heaping a whole load of guilt on already physically and mentally fragile new mothers

Unpopular opinions thrrads are just a way to show peoples prejudices.

Big yawn…

Emeraldforest · 07/02/2026 05:08

I haven't been to the beach for a few years and don't want to if its full of women in those bikini bottoms that show 90% of their bottoms and a great deal of the front!

You need to have some protein with it.

No! I love nuts. As a vegetarian they are a great food resource. People ate them gladly in the past. Perhaps food allergies need looking at in a different way. Thinking about children and peanut allergies has already changed in the last few years. And I will say it is not a human right to eat out. The cost to everyone else for labelling this that and everything is too much.

I think the labelling has got out of hand when a whole shipment of , eg, peanuts is recalled because, while 'peanuts' are listed as ingredients in peanuts they are not stated in bold. Seem such a waste.

Totally. A lovely midwife said this to me with DS1. It’s going to hurt like hell for a month then you’ll be fine. Here are all the reasons it’s great for you snd your baby. Why lie?!

BitOutOfPractice · 07/02/2026 05:19

John Lennon didn’t write a single decent melody after he left the Beatles. Imagine is the worst offender of all. It’s a dirge.

FlyingApple · 07/02/2026 05:20

That some parents need their children to be ND so that they can feel freed to let go of their parental responsibility of dysregulating their children and that includes giving them screens, sending them to nursery, feeding them crap and overstimulating them in unpleasant environments.

They can also use this label to push back at anyone who criticises their parenting.

Schools push for a ND label because as an institution they would prefer to blame the child than the institution as it's inflexible and cannot be changed. Adults would rather children absorb the outcome than themselves, so the old model stays.

Guess that makes raping children okay then 🙄

I'd love to understand your logic.

who said anything about his behaviour or that the evil that he did was permissible or acceptable.

If anything it's the converse - it goes to show that a man who raped underaged girls comes across as intelligent and reasonable. A monster in plain sight. Don't you have any critical thinking?

Prince Harry was never good looking. His eyes are too close together.

Yep. Always an ugly little tyke.
