Keir starmer is dead in the water

Bertiebiscuit · 04/02/2026 22:21

The UK cannot have a prime minister who gave a plum job to a man when all the time he knew that Mandelson was still close friends with an ex-con who was convicted for trafficking children for sexual abuse. Starmer is destroying the reputation of the UK, he is an embarrassment and shoukd resign, if not the Labour party should demand his resignation.

I think he's been all of those things. His naivety, like a fawn with huge eyes looking into the headlights, began right from the start when he and his cabinet appeared not to realise that once in power, people would criticise. They've cottoned on now, but they were almost seeming to say "but, but, we're the good guys, on the side of working people, you can't be nasty to us, it's not fair".

I wonder if anyone has managed to explain to him why "my father was a toolmaker" was funny. He genuinely thought people were laughing at his father being working class.

Edited

Why do you find the toolmaker line funny? Is it because it’s hypocritical - because he’s saying his father was a toolmaker (ie working class) yet he himself is upper class and much more privileged?

No it's because a lot of people were saying "yes, your father made tools and he made you and you're one of them".

He also began to be laughed at for the number of times he said it, I don't think he understood that either.

May explain why Badenoch is softening her demand on Starmer must go...
Alternatively, she is watching from the sidelines, amused, letting Starmer's own side stick the boot in. Never interrupt your enemy when they are tearing themselves apart.

If the public perception is neither Labour or the Tories are fit to govern and just give us a merry-go-round of new Prime Ministers, then they will vote for an alternative.
Tory polling atm is pretty similar with Labour & the Greens (within margin of error) with Reform way out in front according to "Find Out More"

Badenoch is aware of this, the work to rebuild the Tory party is only just beginning for her, she isn't a stupid person.

Unlike many of her supporters.

There you go again. Insulting people. It doesnt reflect well on you, Alexandra. And you so quick to admonish others. Tut tut.

I can’t see any basis for calling Tory supporters any stupider than the average Labour fan. There are some remarkably one-eyed, bovine Labourites.

His dad owned the company, so not just a tool maker

I have seen this loads of places but can't find anything factual either way. Do we have any evidence?

HesseWeisseSchokolade · 07/02/2026 16:21

Let's see. He broke all the Labour manifesto promises. He appointed a known grifter and paedophile associate (Mandelson) to an important post. As director of public prosecutions he refused to investigate Mohammed Fayed, the Muslim rape gangs and before that, as a barrister, defended known islamic terrorists (PRO BONO, FFS). He's been giving British passports to terrorist advocates who weren't even born in Britain. He refused to condemn Israeli genocide. He introduced two-tier policing and a two-tier justice system. Other than that, he's been a great Prime Minister and should continue in office.

Nope on this at attempt at being todays "Thread Policeman" no poster was named or even inferred, just like @DenizenOfAisleOfShame calling Labour supporters "Bovine"

btw i thought that quite funny, pot n kettle funny...

Some on the right also appear to be rather thin skinned too!

Err its not the CPS 's job to investigate.... thats for the Police, they do that, get the evidence and present to the CPS, who then decide if there is enough evidence to bring about a successful prosecution.

Starmer never defended any Muslim Terrorists, not one, unless you have a link to said trial?

Pritti Patel gave out that passport you re referring too, can condemn "Genocide" when its not yet proven in Court (the only way it can be called Genocide)

But apart from all of that, your post is Fantastic, Great even.

I just pointed out that you have no reason to call Tories stupid, any more than to call Labour supporters stupid. That’s not policing anything. Neither did I name anyone.

I wouldn’t worry insults won’t help Labour rn that’s for sure. They’re deep in it of their own accord.

Along with “I’d never use private healthcare - the NHS is in my blood”. 🙄

I’ll bet the sanctimonious cunt has never been left overnight on a plastic chair in an A&E cupboard, like my terminally ill DM.

Vinvertebrate · 07/02/2026 18:01

@Alexandra2001 no, you’re right that he didn’t technically “defend” any Islamist terrorists (afaik), but saying that a gobby Egyptian anti-Semite’s release from prison was “this government’s top priority” was weapons-grade stupidity, entirely unnecessary politically and a monumental demonstration of his earnest sixth-form politics credentials.

He looks so bewildered at the response to his asinine comments, it really does give the impression he rarely left his little Islington echo chamber before becoming PM.

Ooh ooh I know the answer to this !

Abu Qatada (old hook hand himself)

Hizb ut Tahrir

Hilal al Jedda

He seems quite partial to defending Islamist terrorists as it turns out. Quelle surprise....

DoIdriveaVauxhallZafira · 07/02/2026 18:57

People still don't realise how vital it is for justice that crimimals - even terrorists - have a defence barrister.

Simply - If our justice system doesn't ensure that the worst criminals are entitled to a defence, it undermines the justice the rest of us receive.

Skinnysaluki · 07/02/2026 18:59

Just when I am getting the popcorn out and sitting down to enjoy the fall of the disastrous Starmer, people on this thread come along to remind me that he at least has or once had some faintish glimmers of decency, unlike, say, Nigel Farage

Oh well thats a statement of the obvious. But its not as if he subscribed to the cab rank system. In fact as we know he worked for free if it involved bringing cases against innocent British soldiers.
