The Jewish Chronicle reports that a pro-Palestine mob branded Iranian dissidents “filthy Zionists” at a rally in London on Saturday.

Thousands marched through the capital in support of Palestine, with some brandishing placards bearing images of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the words "the right side of history".

The Iranian regime has killed thousands of Iranian protesters in recent weeks, with the death toll exceeding 30,000, according to some estimates.

A counter-demonstration organised by pro-Israel campaign group Stop the Hate was stationed at the junction of Kingsway and Aldwych Street, where a large screen had been put up. Footage of torture carried out by Hamas and of the Islamic Republic Guards Corp (IRGC) attacking protesting Iranians played on the screen. Stop the Hate said it aimed to highlight how the "silence" of Saturday’s protesters when it came to Iran’s brutal crackdown.

A banner held by one pro-Palestinian demonstrator targeted Iranians who want the exiled Crown Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, to return to replace the ayatollah. It read: "Pahlavi-supporting Iranians who stand alongside the Israeli flag are just filthy Zionists."

Another demonstrator called on the Home Office to "deproscribe Hezbollah and Hamas", while several banners read "Globalise the intifada" – an arrestable offence in Greater London.

One protester, who did not want to give his name, told the JC of his belief in the need for Palestinian "resistance" and attempted to justify the atrocities of October 7 by saying "Hamas didn't have a choice", adding that "Israel should have never existed in the first place."

i think I will leave this chat now as the response to me saying that mass murder of civilians is wrong was unhinged to say the least. It’s not unhinged to say that war is brutal and if you don’t like your people being mass murdered then perhaps don’t start a war.

But so much hatred to Jews (which is what this thread is about) is shut down because people like you say “What about Gaza” like it’s a catch-all phrase to end any discussion around how antisemitic language is used. It’s almost like there’s an agenda to stop criticism of certain groups

To answer - in WW1 & WW2 around 1.2 million Germans were killed, the vast majority civilians.

200.000 civilian deaths in the Iraq war (a country that never did anything to anyone)

176,000 in Afghanistan, about half of those civilians. Because of 3,000 9/11 deaths.

NONE of this have ever been described as a genocide.

War is brutal, the civilian:combatant death ratio is an average of 9:1. Countries need to think very hard about the before waging war. Yet when Jews Israelis fight back, with VERY good cause of defending themselves against Jew-hating violent terrorists, it’s suddenly “mass murder” and “genocide”

Why is it different? Because TBH the only difference I can see is Israel is a majority Jewish country. What makes them different to us? We were worse - we had no reason to go into Iraq, it was an illegal war against a country who never harmed us. Why is Israel different?

Not to mention, Israel is expected to feed their aggressor. Ukraine was never expected to feed Russia. And indeed, starvation was and is used regularly in war - look at the German state.

When the Jews left Gaza in 2005, the Palestinian leaders received literally billions from the U.K., USA and Europe. They had the best opportunity to build infrastructure, to build state of the art hospitals, schools, housing, drainage systems. But instead they chose to make themselves terrorists, make their leaders billionaires and import endless weapons into the country. They didn’t make homes, they dig tunnels, because their hatred for Jews is stronger than their love for each other. But Israel are expected to say sorry, put their weapons down and experience Holocaust 2.0 because an ill informed westerner says “muh genocide”

Get real. And remember exactly why Israel HAD to be created in the first place. Holocaust liberation was not a Hollywood success story. The Jews, who had 6 years of violence, torture and murder, who pushed dthe dead bodies of their loved ones around in wheelbarrows, came home to even more Jew hatred than before the war. There was a serious risk of Holocaust 2.0 then and there. And actually many survived only to be ordered in pogroms. Israel was essential to Jewish safety.

So unless you support the Holocaust, you should feel very angry about what the Palestinians are trying to do - not defend them

You're using a facile statement to try to equate things that are not equatable, and you know it. And it didn't escape anyone's notice that condemnation of Hamas still had to be dragged out of you.

But this is exactly what the supposedly pro Palestinian lobby does. Pretends to give a shit about Palestinians while humming and haing and both-sidesing over the monsters who are actually supposed to lead and protect the Palestinians, but actually do everything they can to endanger and exploit them. Because it isn't about helping and protecting Palestinians at all. It's about destroying the Jewish state.

If you find this surprising maybe it’s you that is immersed in niche chat groups because this one is mainstream.

Best part is, the Iranian regime being protested against have made the lives of Gazans worse. The pro Gazan response here is to want the end of the Islamic regime!
