To be disgusted that Iranian dissidents are being branded "filthy Zionists" in London rally

The Jewish Chronicle reports that a pro-Palestine mob branded Iranian dissidents “filthy Zionists” at a rally in London on Saturday.

Thousands marched through the capital in support of Palestine, with some brandishing placards bearing images of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the words "the right side of history".

The Iranian regime has killed thousands of Iranian protesters in recent weeks, with the death toll exceeding 30,000, according to some estimates.

A counter-demonstration organised by pro-Israel campaign group Stop the Hate was stationed at the junction of Kingsway and Aldwych Street, where a large screen had been put up. Footage of torture carried out by Hamas and of the Islamic Republic Guards Corp (IRGC) attacking protesting Iranians played on the screen. Stop the Hate said it aimed to highlight how the "silence" of Saturday’s protesters when it came to Iran’s brutal crackdown.

A banner held by one pro-Palestinian demonstrator targeted Iranians who want the exiled Crown Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, to return to replace the ayatollah. It read: "Pahlavi-supporting Iranians who stand alongside the Israeli flag are just filthy Zionists."

Another demonstrator called on the Home Office to "deproscribe Hezbollah and Hamas", while several banners read "Globalise the intifada" – an arrestable offence in Greater London.

One protester, who did not want to give his name, told the JC of his belief in the need for Palestinian "resistance" and attempted to justify the atrocities of October 7 by saying "Hamas didn't have a choice", adding that "Israel should have never existed in the first place."

Apologies, should have been clearer. I mean the Feminism boards on MN, an area that attracts insults from mens rights activists etc. A lot (majority, I think) of posters prefer these insults to stand, rather than be deleted, so other people can see the problem. (And that it’s not us!)

I don't think anyone is saying there aren't any Jews in Iran? You're saying it as though it's some kind of "gotcha", but really you're just telling us something lots of us already know. We also know that under the current regime, Jews in Iran don't have the same rights as other Iranians.

We also know that the current regime is murdering tens of thousands of their own people, regardless of their religion, and I'm not just talking about these past few weeks. Why is anyone's opinion on Israel even remotely relevant when opposing this level of state terror? Why are people so incredibly obsessed with Israel that they can't even find it in themselves to be against IRGC?

Honestly, I don't give a flying fuck what you think about Israel right now. I care about people being murdered on the streets of Iran. In the hospitals of Iran. And I care about the silence from the rest of the world about it. It's absolute insanity. Not everything has to be about Israel all the time. It's ok to think about something else every now and again.

I really wasn't sure about your earlier claims, not because I believe all Iranians must think the same thing but because to me it read less about being Iranian and more about attacking Jews and Zionism. The priorities were off and the dog whistle language didn't ring true either. Still, it was possible.

It's unsurprising sadly that Pro-Pali terrorist supporters, also support the Iranian regime, who fund the terrorist groups. Unsurprisingly, but deeply disturbing.

I hope anyone who supports the 'Pro Pali' cause is woken up by exactly what they are supporting today.

I do too but sadly some are so indoctrinated they won't change. As an example see the jury who found the Palestine Action activists not guilty yesterday. I cannot believe they voted this unless they were influenced by all the anti Israeli rhetoric that blights our news and social media.

I also have never heard a reasonable explanation as to what is wrong with Zionism. It’s simply the belief that Jewish people have the right to a state of their own in their ancestral homeland. You know, like Muslims do (55 states). Or Christians (15 states)

I think the most hysterically ironic aspect of the Pro-Pal movement is non native Americans frothing at the mouth about settlers.

The brave women-led revolution is absolutely awe inspiring, and I genuinely can’t think of any other reason why someone would object to it unless they:

1. Hate Jews, and/or
2. Hate women

Some very brave women in Iran. Those who first refused to wear the hijab for example, risked death at the hands of the so-called morality police.

Absolutely, and there are clearly people who don't realise that. It isn't enough to keep their own people under a boot, they facilitate Hamas, the Houthis and Hezbollah to emiserate those outside their borders too.
