The Jewish Chronicle reports that a pro-Palestine mob branded Iranian dissidents “filthy Zionists” at a rally in London on Saturday.

Thousands marched through the capital in support of Palestine, with some brandishing placards bearing images of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the words "the right side of history".

The Iranian regime has killed thousands of Iranian protesters in recent weeks, with the death toll exceeding 30,000, according to some estimates.

A counter-demonstration organised by pro-Israel campaign group Stop the Hate was stationed at the junction of Kingsway and Aldwych Street, where a large screen had been put up. Footage of torture carried out by Hamas and of the Islamic Republic Guards Corp (IRGC) attacking protesting Iranians played on the screen. Stop the Hate said it aimed to highlight how the "silence" of Saturday’s protesters when it came to Iran’s brutal crackdown.

A banner held by one pro-Palestinian demonstrator targeted Iranians who want the exiled Crown Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, to return to replace the ayatollah. It read: "Pahlavi-supporting Iranians who stand alongside the Israeli flag are just filthy Zionists."

Another demonstrator called on the Home Office to "deproscribe Hezbollah and Hamas", while several banners read "Globalise the intifada" – an arrestable offence in Greater London.

One protester, who did not want to give his name, told the JC of his belief in the need for Palestinian "resistance" and attempted to justify the atrocities of October 7 by saying "Hamas didn't have a choice", adding that "Israel should have never existed in the first place."

About the verdict on the recent court case.

We have let out police officers down, many of whom put their lives at risk every day. To see obvious assault go unpunished is a fanning indictment of our legal system.

The problem in my view is the jury system and the ability to pick unbiased jurors. With our system of unrecorded jury debates (which is fair) the ability of maybe a couple of biased people in the jury is enough to overturn jurys. In this case it probably was the case that people with staunch pro pal views were on the jury and made the trial not about British law but about a foreign conflict.

Maybe we need jury selection as in the US?

The voting on my thread has finished now apparently and stands at 86% of the 169 people who voted think I’m not being unreasonable.

Apparently one ofvthe jurors emailed the judge saying they could see posters which were displayed by pro Pal supporters. The police just took them down, but its jury tampering surely?

Killing innocent civilians is wrong whether they are Iranian, Palestinian or any other nationality for that matter (the list of examples is depressing long).

Which is why Hamas, who used aid money to build terror tunnels that were deliberately set around civilian structures and held hostages and weapons in homes and hospitals to increase the death count among their own civilians for exploitation, and who, on the first day of the ceasefire, dragged a load of people out of their homes to shoot them in the head, really are the most evil inhuman slime.

I recognize the stark distance between 2 repressive regimes who use violence to uphold an extremely conservative Islamist whole system of government- with everything that involves- from a terrible record on women's rights to murdering political opponents, and the one democracy in the the ME, which while flawed and not perfect, does not shoot its own citizens in the street or force its women to dress a certain way or be violently punished.

It genuinely baffles me that people get so angry about the only democracy in the ME, a HUGE LGBTQ friendly country (constantly under attack by haters of Jew and the West), because they’d rather protect murderous, misogynistic terrorists who beat women to death for having a literal hair out of place. Not to mention using actually children as human shields.

Golda Meir put it perfectly - when Palestinians learn to love their children more than they hate Jews, they will find peace (not verbatim)
