Victoria Beckham used to be so different

I like her and think Brooklyn’s recent posts are awful.

I was looking on YouTube today and a video came up of her over the years, mainly with the spice girls and when younger. She was so funny, so cheeky and seemed so strong & confident. She did full, proper smiles and laughs, so nice to see.
Totally different to now, is it just age and we were all probably more like that in our youth?

I don't think she's any different really, now has longer hair, more put together in her style, still funny and witty.

I do agree she used to smile more, but think there's a general thing in fashion where its cool / sexy to have that sort of thousand yard mardy arse stare, I think she's just spent a lot of time around that. I mainly try and avoid having my photo taken these days, maybe she feels the same 😆

I think the fact that she's stayed with a man who cheated on her - and I 100% believe Rebecca Loos- has taken its toll on her.
She must have lost a little bit of her soul. He even cheated on Rebecca ffs.

But you're right in that we all change as we age. There is literally nothing on this earth as powerful as the optimism of youth.

PS she was once quoted as saying she didn't like her smile, which is a shame. She has a lovely smile.

Agree that David has robbed her of her contentment and happiness with his cheating and open contempt of her. (Although he seemed uncharacteristically attentive to her in Paris today).

She doesn’t have the best smile, I can see why she avoids it for photos.

Ah do you think so? I think her smile is a bit quirky which is what makes it so appealing.

She’s cultivated an upper class persona after mixing with a cultured, elegant crowd. Also she’s naturally become more like those she spends most time with, as we all do. NB: Geri H too. Also fashion world etc. She looks 20 years younger & I image stunning in flesh.

She’s courageous, tenacious & focused. Good luck to her.

She had to ditch the image/persona from her youth if she was going to make it in the fashion world. Also she was criticised a lot for her appearance which made her much more self-conscious and self-controlled.

I think she always looks really stiff and uncomfortable - the very forced way she attempts to look relaxed with her hands in her pockets but actually comes across as the opposite. She is attractive but like her husband has had way too much work done.

I don't normally get involved with these silly threads discussing women and men that no-one here knows.

But all this 'David has robbed her' is nonsense.

She made a decision to stay with him. It may have been because she loves the bones of him or it may have been to protect 'Brand Beckham', who knows?

What we also don't know is whether she's had affairs and that's because they're complete strangers and it's none of our business.

The only thing we can be sure of is that unlike so many women, she didn't stay with him because she was scared of living in a damp tower block and living on benefits and using food banks.

She strikes me as a fiercely independent woman who very much chooses her own path, and the path she wants her family to follow.

I'm the same age as her and of course she/we are different at 51 than we were in our carefree early 20s. Time passes, looks change (I think she looks great, for the record), we become more mature, we are toughened up by life's ups and downs, we have more responsibilities, more aches and pains!

If she was still prancing around with the same haircut, giggling and pointing an imaginary gun people would think she had lost the plot.

I saw a video on Cruz Beckham's Instagram of him playing guitar and her singing viva forever, then david chimes in badly at the end. She seemed quite embarrassed to be singing but clearly adores Cruz and probably agreed to it being posted as he is trying to launch a music career. She seemed happy though and the singing wasn't actually bad. I feel for her with all of this Brooklyn stuff.

I think she looks fabulous but she’s so robotic. She’s so staged, I find it quite sad.

I think it a mixture of age and past experience with the media. If every little thing you did got twisted and slated I would also look robotic everytime a camera was shoved in my face.

I think you just destroyed your own argument there. She had a choice. She stayed with him. Which was the essence of MY argument-she didn't need to.
I mean, we all need a man,right,to pay our bills? God knows how I've just paid my mortgage off 12 years early all by myself, without dropping my drawers.

Those who think she’s “witty and funny” have incredibly low standards. She is massively banal.

God yes. If it were possible to be outstandingly banal (somehow an oxymoron) then DB is it.
I know very little about VB but I kind of like her. She seems tenacious, focussed, would jump in front of a bullet for her kids (not a given in celeb circles) and has made a career for herself in an infamously difficult and misogynistic field. I admire all of that.

Also she’s got a cute smile. She could wear it with pride.

I watched the Netflix thing and thought how inspiring her love for fashion was. I also loved as a mum how much she was all about family, she was the first of the group to have kids, remember the rest of the spice girls said at the time she sat with her family instead of them at some awards thing? That must have been so hard for your friends to act like you are ditching them because you choose to sit with your kids!!

Everyone who meets her says she's very funny, warm and quick-witted.
