Victoria Beckham used to be so different

I like her and think Brooklyn’s recent posts are awful.

I was looking on YouTube today and a video came up of her over the years, mainly with the spice girls and when younger. She was so funny, so cheeky and seemed so strong & confident. She did full, proper smiles and laughs, so nice to see.
Totally different to now, is it just age and we were all probably more like that in our youth?

Why do you think Brooklyn’s posts are ‘awful’? He obviously has issues with the way he was paraded in front of the cameras since birth and the control his parents have exerted over him, is he not entitled to have feelings on it?
Everyone has focussed on the wedding dance thing but his comments about ‘inauthentic relationships’ and the discomfort he felt at having his childhood played out in front of the cameras are very telling.

What it says. My ex employer has seen him do things with OW. He's known for it.

I'm not a big VB fan but I despise cheats and she definitely doesn't deserve to be treated like she is by him.

If he’s know for it there would be stories in the press. A story like that would be worth a fortune.

Thatannoyingadvertsongstuckinmyhead · 28/01/2026 20:13

Why does she seem so sad & so self conscious now

The Beckhams pay a fortune to keep the stories out of the press.

If it were true that he was chronically & habitually unfaithful in last ten years & continues - something solid would surely leak eventually.

So did Harvey Weinstein, NDAs not as they were & if SO frequent something would do awry.

Harvey Weinstein committed rape and sexual assault so actual crimes, having an affair isnt illegal and its not a crime

No, that’s true & very fair. I still say if too many to count details will slip eventually.

doublec · 28/01/2026 20:58

Just chiming in re. Victoria's smile. I really do empathise with VB on this. I have the same smile, as does Cherie Blair. In my teens, I had my teeth straightened with metal braces. I also wore headgear as my jaw needed centering. Yet, even after that, the smile itself remained the same, and is still the same almost 35 years later. My lips pretty much disappear with I smile, and the smile itself is very rectangular. I have considered a little filler in my top lip but while it might make my lip appear a little fuller when smiling, it won't actually change the smile itself. And while my smile is cute, it is also awkward and very gimpy. It makes me feel incredibly self-conscious. So I rarely smile, particularly for a photo.

But NDAs don't trump sexual assault, so it's a bit different when you use one (or several) to cover an affair. Sexual assault is a crime with no statute of limitation.

Yes, you’re right.

I thought a separate campaign, to scrutinise validity, in various circumstances, beyond this one (?)

Rhubarb24 · 29/01/2026 11:01

Just realised that what I'd said in my reply to HW and NDAs had already been said. Can't edit. Apologies.

David has changed a lot too. We used to go to The Cliff in the mid-90s during the school holidays. You could watch them train there, or at Littleton Road, and then they'd often sign things for you before they left. We started going in 1995 (when I was 11), just before his wonder goal against Wimbledon in 1996.

He did not look like he did at the end of the 90s. He didn't have great teeth and smile either (far worse than Victoria's, but I don't see anything wrong with Victoria's original teeth and smile. I always thought that she was very attractive), plus he had a really squeaky voice. He seemed quite shy. Getting with Victoria seemed to do wonders for him in that respect. Everybody seems to have forgotten that he wasn't always a hunk, he was pretty awkward.

From the things I've seen of them, he seems like he is just tolerating her and she seems a bit needy for his affection. And if she has acted inappropriately towards Brooklyn, maybe she has possibly sought affection, or attention (non-sexual!) from him. Many mums of boys do without meaning to.

In fairness to BB, he never said that the dance was the worst thing to happen to him, he said he had "never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated" in his entire life. Most of us say that all the time about different embarrassing/uncomfortable events in our lives.

A lot has changed in 30 years. Their kids were sold for publicity when they were still a foetus!

My point was for the word 'always'

True on wording, it might be a figure of speech but, generously, it’s unfortunate. Taken at face value if this is most ‘uncomfortable’ & ‘unfortunate’ he’s felt, still very good going.

It was a private event & these things happen. The dancing vignette still points to his very sheltered life.

IMO he needed stronger more poignant examples than dogs in danger & Mum dancing. They hopefully exist (?) given the heartfelt statement.

Just because it hasn't come out yet doesn't mean it didn't happen 😂 It's happened many times. He's a dog.

Using your own example of Weinstein, he was able to move in the shadows in plain sight, everyone in that industry knew, nobody spoke.

Lots of people and I mean lots, know about DB.

Wait and see.

Did you miss the bit where it was his wedding day?

Were you lucky enough to not be humiliated in front of all your friends, family and anyone you've ever known on your wedding day?

Because he wasn't that lucky and if he feels the biggest day of his life was ruined by her behaviour then I think that's his prerogative.

I think everyone does. How can a smile not be lovely? It's a sign of happiness.

I think you should smile in every photo. ❤️

Of course we all get older and change physically but her whole manner and face was very different back then. She has done something really weird to her lips and ruined them and while she was always very slim she now looks so starved as if she's about to snap. I saw a clip of her on the Michael Parkinson show years ago just before the Rebecca Loos scandal erupted and she was totally different and looked fantastic. I don't buy for a moment that she can't smile because "David stands on the wrong side" - whatever that is supposed to mean. She would look much younger and more attractive if she did smile. If you look at some of the group pictures over the last year or so when Nicola was still talking them, Nicola is the only one looking happy and actually smiling. And now poor Harper has obviously been told to look moody as well in every shot as if there's something wrong with her teeth. And the other Beckham brothers' girlfriends look like Victoria clones.

wasdarknowblond · 29/01/2026 18:06

Sorry but I can stand any of them and am fed up with seeing them in the news. I always thought she was pretty vacuous actually.

pouletvous · 29/01/2026 18:19

Why do people think she’s witty and funny?

She comes across as quite dull on the recent Netflix docs

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 29/01/2026 18:23

I've always said she'd be much happier if she left David but she won't because it's all about Brand Beckham and she's stuck on a hamster wheel of sorts. He treats her like shit, his teasing is anything but light hearted, you can see he looks at her with disdain at times. His affairs will have chipped away at her confidence over the years.

Had she posted half of what he's supposedly done on here, she'd be told to leave the bastard.

I think selling their kids lives is wrong but I have sympathy for her for being stuck with a lying cheat.

His feelings are absolutely valid. It was a private event & no doubt close friends sympathetic. Now it’s a public event. IMHO unwise to make a relatively small, private spectacle into a viral, public one, deal with lawyers, especially if suffering from serious anxiety.

MMAS · 29/01/2026 18:27

My God some of the comments on here are just down right nasty and I only bothered to read half way down for those of you irritated by not reading everything. Girls on Girls being bitches still rings through it seems. Whatever your feelings are, she has done an incredible job with her life, her marriage and her kids. She has weathered more storms than most and come out the other side with her family intact up until now. Both of them come from strong family backgrounds. He will regret the hurt he has caused when no doubt he will get dumped when of no further use. Interesting not one of you have questioned why his wife has only ever dated high profile boys a lot younger than her with names recognised by the public whereas hers is absolutely not until now. If the other way round, all hell would break loose. Latest photos are vile in this time of most people struggling - a bottle of wine costing thousands. A truly childish thing. One wonders which one of them is the more childish than the other. My betting is the female in this.
