I’m guessing WLI
I imagine they’ve massively improved their health and energy levels in so many ways
but…

he looked a little gaunt
and she looked so gaunt it was unreal. Also her hair…. Well her hair had been her crowning glory but it looked so lacklustre

It was such a shock. I really see now how these WLI are no golden bullet like sometimes the media would have us believe.

She’s also had tonnes of cosmetic work done to her face and looks underweight now (prescribers shall stop prescribing when you reach BMI 23 so most people won’t go that low) - so she isn’t exactly the average MJ user.

Have you seen a recent photo? Yes, or no.

Is it absolutely necessary that the WLI loss is so fast? I understand in terms of morbid obesity then there's an urgency, but why otherwise? Is it because you can't be on them for too long?

Fast weigh loss causes loss of muscle mass, often you see that around the neck which is a muscle contributing to the gaunt look.

The only reason I care is it is catastrophic for later life to have less muscle mass.

I am very worried about frail 70 year olds, but as always its profit (WLI companies) first.

A lot of people are motivated to get on and off them quickly due to the cost.

I've been on WLI for the last 12 months and have lost 4.5st, I'd already lost 1.5st so now 6st in total. I have had people tell me I look gaunt - I don't its just that my face is normal now not round! However, only just into the healthy BMI range and a around half a stone left to go. My hair has really suffered but I'll gladly take that to being obese. I feel amazing, can shop in normal stores again!

It's possible that your neighbours have used WLI but unless you get it from them, don't assume.

MammaBear1 · 21/01/2026 15:57

It’s ridiculous. People are judged for being overweight then judged for looking gaunt once they’ve done something about it.
And lacklustre hair was well!
Seriously though, what is the point of your thread other than to criticise their appearance? It’s very rude.

I lost half my body weight on mounjaro. My hair thinned bit its all grown back now.
I don't look gaunt, the body adjusts.
I lost two pounds a week over a year. Best thing I ever did I don't have to take any blood pressure meds now and I'm no longer pre-diabetic.

I bit the bullet and am expecting my first Mounjaro delivery tomorrow - cannot wait to get started.

You won't regret it, I didn't. I did 8 months on Mounjaro and since September have been on Wegovy. Mounjaro definitely the best if you can afford it. One word of caution, when you get to the end, very gradually go back down the doses. Stopping cold turkey at a high dose means that all the "food noise" comes back which could undo all your good work.

ExpectZeroContext · 21/01/2026 16:19

You seem jealous. How much do you weigh, OP? Probably around 100 kgs at least.

Thanks. I am VERY overweight (approx 7.5 stone to a healthy weight) and have been for the last approx 10-12 years.
Covid saw me get even bigger so after refusing and trying to fight the hormonal/ physiological changes that stalled my weight loss decided to go for it. I did consider Wegovy but Mounjaro seem better for blood sugar which is an issue for me even skinny.

Anyway let me not derail - I will head off to the WLI board!

Perhaps they’re having the weight loss jabs. Up to them. 🤷‍♀️

You mean after she lost her father and said she struggled to eat due to grief. You want people to look at her and comment on her body?

If you’d like to lose about 10lbs would they work do you think? Menopausal weight that just won’t shift!

It's always the stomach. Nightmare.

Why are you on here? Are you some angry little man who likes putting women in thier place?

Your opinionated and obnoxious posts are far from helpful.
