I think it is incredibly selfish and feel that if they cannot (or will not) lose weight they should not have a baby. Much like smokers, alcoholics and drug users - if they cannot make an effort to be healthy for a pregnancy things will not improve once the baby is born.

Twelvelegs I know it's possible but is it reasonable behaviour for them to have babies?. I am obese (not morbidly) and am desperate to lose weight in order to conceive. I would not inflict my health problems on another baby and I think that women who do are selfiah - so flame me!

some people are over weight due to health reasons they should not be made then to not have children

I am sorry but take it you watched that sensationalist shite on the tv the other night!!
I watched it to and completely disagreed with the whole bloody programme..and also some of the women displayed on it..one of them said she was so uncomfortable when pg that she would just pee where she was that is nothing to do with being morbidly obese thats to do with being a lazy fecker.
I am morbidly obese and was so while ttc all my 3 dc yet I did not sit on my arse doing nothing I worked until I was 39wks with ds. I then looked after ds who was 2,2when dd1 was born and only 3.2 when dd2 was born. I had normal pregnancies with no problems and normal vaginal births..all be it induced with no pain relief..so tell me again why cant I have kids????Maybe I shouldnt ttc no.4 just in case god forbid I have some complications that oh any potential mother could have...
