So my DH had a peloton ride today. When he finished he went upstairs (very sweaty) and sat on the ensuite toilet seat to "cool down a bit", had a shower then came downstairs and sat and had his lunch. While he was eating I took some clean clothes upstairs to put away. Part way through I needed the loo so went to use the toilet. I sat down and the seat was wet. I very quickly realised I was sitting in DH's sweat! 🤮

I feel pretty disgusted by this and we ended up having a big row over it. I feel justified in being upset but not sure if I'm making a bigger thing out of it than is necessary. Not sure what I'm asking, I think I just needed to vent. I'd appreciate some perspective.

That’s quite a strange reaction to sweat. Yes it’s gross but it’s not piss or shit. You must have mingled with his sweat many a time before (still a bit gross but hey, that’s sex for you).

I would have just said (for fuck’s sake) clean your sweat off the seat in future, I don’t want to sit in somebody else’s rank sweat thank you very much!

Then got on with my day.

It's your husband's sweat.. he's depositted worse in you. You act like his sweat was never on your skin. You humiliated him.

Why humiliated? Was a crowd of people watching you? Was it done in public and on purpose? It’s a bit icky but it wasn’t humiliating.

A huge row is a bit much. I'd say 'can you clean the seat off, its all sweaty and now its all over my bum!' But I wouldn't feel angry, humiliated, hurt or any of the other strong emotions!
