To ask how to make fish fingers more exciting?

I make fish finger sandwiches (butter, ketchup, vinegar, tiny mayo).
I'm sure there must be better ways of eating them, does anyone have an amazing recipe to share?

I was thinking fish finger tacos with corn mini tortillas, inspired from tempura fish tacos I had in Margate once.

Eat them on a roller coaster.

Fish fingers are perfection as is. But you could add lettuce?

Purlant · 15/01/2026 18:03

Yes, we often use the fish goujons for a taco filling with corn tortillas.

Newname71 · 15/01/2026 18:03

I like mine in a bread roll with a slice of plastic cheese and tartar sauce. Like a McDonald’s Filet o fish 😊

I also lightly toast just the insides of the bread so it's slightly crispy. Plus lettuce and more mayo!

sprigatito · 15/01/2026 18:04

Tartar sauce, romaine lettuce and black pepper, in a large floury white bap from a proper bakery.

Lovelyview · 15/01/2026 18:04

I like them in a wrap with salad and chilli mayonnaise.

Nigella did an Asian recipe with fish fingers in one of her later books. I’ve not tried it recently but it was pretty good.

turns out they weren't fried, but boy were they amazing. High Dive in Margate https://www.divemargate.com/dive

I was thinking something like this would be easy if I used fish fingers or tempura fish goujons, just bung them in the oven make the sauces

A wrap.
Slather with satay sauce.
Stick in some raw spinach and other salady bits of choice.
Whack your cooked fish fingers in.
Roll.

It's SO tasty. Also works with fish or chicken goujon things.

Thundertoast · 15/01/2026 18:06

Yes to fish finger tacos
Pico de Gallo
Plus avocado
Then make a lime mayo
Add veggies or other sauces as wanted, delicious!

Bobiverse · 15/01/2026 18:06

Fish tacos! We love using fish fingers to makefish taco. Tortilla wrap if you like it soft or taco shell for crunchy, spicy salsa and peppers and onions etc cooked in a spicy seasoning or whatever veg you what.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 15/01/2026 18:07

I like them in a toast sandwich (made with toast, not a toasted sandwich) with salad cream and black pepper. 😋

JoshLymanSwagger · 15/01/2026 18:07

On a plate.
With baked beans.
And some oven chips.

Possibly with a round of bread and butter (for the chips).

Elbowpatch · 15/01/2026 18:09

Swap them for something else?

TheDandyLion · 15/01/2026 18:11

Salad cream.

Notateacheranymore · 15/01/2026 18:11

Although I like British cheese such as cheddar, Red Leicester or Gloucester on my fish finger butty, my absolute favourite is either Stilton or Danish Blue.

In fact, it’s so good that when I once asked a cafe owner in Cromer if he could do me a butty like that, he said he was going to add it to his menu!!!

youalright · 15/01/2026 18:12

If it ain't broke don't fix it

GoldenPineapple15 · 15/01/2026 18:12

🤣🤣🤣

Crwysmam · 15/01/2026 18:13

In a wrap with rocket and Heinz truffle mayonnaise. I prefer fresh battered fish fingers or goujons.

GoldenPineapple15 · 15/01/2026 18:13

We also have them to dip in tomato soup .

faw2009 · 15/01/2026 18:15

Sweet chilli sauce?
We put it on scampi for a few last minutes in the oven
