When he says he’s going to ‘take care of everybody’ I get distinct flashbacks to that scene in Father Ted where mad Tom offers to ‘take care of’ Dougal’s rabbit infestation.

It’s called “Colonialism” .. we used to do it back in the 17th / 18th / 19th Century, it was wrong then, and it’s wrong now.

A larger, richer country, with more firepower, invades a poorer country that has lots of resources that want. They then rule directly, followed by the installation of an approved (puppet) leader.

The larger nation stays there until resources are depleted, then leave the invaded nation in a worse / more turbulent, position than they were in in the first place.
