People who feel completely alien to you…

I’ll start - people who can’t wait to take the tree and decorations down on Boxing Day (or any time during the following very few days) and ‘have a really good clean’.

2nd (this’ll be popular on MN!) - people who don’t like dogs. 🐶❤️

Racists

Of every hue.

I think it would be extremely unlikely that I would meet someone who hadn't been to university in my social circles. Given I'm in my sixties I have long established friends and family, if I go to a party held by one of them I may meet someone I haven't met before but the person usually turns out to be a friend of similar social and educational background.
I think there are plenty of highly educated people whose circles are full of people similar to them and who simply don't mix on a social basis with people who didn't obtain a higher education.

In the same way I would expect that the bin men who collected my bins this morning don't generally hang round with and have friends who have been to university.

Yeah sorry I have been trying to give you the benefit of the doubt up to this point but you are a roaring snob.

My husband will say this, he doesn’t give a hoot about validation from anyone.

Hmmm. If you really “hate people” why interact with them?

Richinthe90s · 30/12/2025 20:25

People that watch love island. How can anyone possible watch that rubbish and find it entertaining? I'm sick of it dominating the work conversations every time it's back on.

People that think stuff and appearances are so important and they look down on others that they deem 'less than' if they don't follow the same trends.
You find that most of the time, the same people are up to their eyeballs in debt trying to maintain these lifestyles.

Any type of fillers or botox. You can always tell when someone has had work or tweakments and it always looks ridiculous no matter how natural you think it looks.

Strait laced people who take life extremely seriously and do everything by the book.

Can I add 'and have no sense of humour, every little thing is dissected in the search for something to be offended about'. I often think of a very dear friend of ours who would probably have many MNers passing out because they're clutching their pearls so tightly!

Well, she's kind of right though. None of my friends have been to uni, my parents and Grandparents didn't. The only person I know who has is my sister and she's moved away to pursue her career. My social circle is made up of cleaners, shop workers, care workers, bar workers etc. It is a different world to some people.

GreenPoms · 30/12/2025 16:16

Anyone who posts on these threads, knowing there’s a very good chance that what they write will make another poster feel awful, are genuinely shitty people.

That'll include you then.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 30/12/2025 20:28

Adults who go to Disney world dressed up and queue to meet characters, acting in character when they meet them, with no children present.

Mercedes45 · 30/12/2025 20:30

xAwaywiththefairiesx · 30/12/2025 16:41

Ah see that's probably the difference then. I never, ever use the overhead storage, not even when flying long haul.
Not even when I flew solo to Australia with a 3 year old. I don't get what they are storing up there. Everything I need during a flight is in a bag at my feet.

Ah come on, you know full well that not everyone checks in their bag.

I went to university. I’m on my third degree. I have friends who have Phds and friends who barely got GCSEs. My partner didn’t go to university.

I find the idea of gatekeeping your social circle according to the level of education received regressive, pompous and arrogant.

You’re also, by doing this, excluding large numbers of people who have had interesting lives and have different experiences and perspectives and depriving yourself of that perspective because your own status anxiety is more important than having an open mind.

Its a brilliant case study of how wanting to appear intelligent can make people behave in deeply stupid ways.

Mercedes45 · 30/12/2025 20:30

Oh!
Yeah, actually, you're right. I didn't even think of that, sorry 🤦

Some people will have bags with only a few changes of clothes in because they're only going for a short time 🤦🤦🤦

I feel stupid now. I tend to only fly if I am going for a significant amount of time. If I'm only going for a few days, I drive there

Overhead bag people do not just have stuff they need for the flight on them. They don't want to pay to check in their bag.

I feel like an idiot. I suppose that answers my "why do people queue up to get on first" question too 🤦🤦🤦

joggingintherain · 30/12/2025 20:37

People who don't clean their houses properly on boxing day

People who don't like dogs.

Ew- both make my skin crawl

When I Facebook stalk my ex-boyfriend from my teenage years, which I totally never do, I also totally never ever laugh at him and his pictures of him posing at Disney world with Donald Duck as a 36 year old man.

At least him and his Mickey Mouse ear wearing GF found each other 🤷

I confess to being completely starstruck when seeing the REAL Mickey Mouse 🤣🤣

Often the behaviours of the people who are ‘alien’ to us are because of poverty or other things which the person has no control over.

Absolute sanctimonious bullshit.

Plenty of people don't understand or are alienated by people who are wealthy. There constant threads on here where people say "I don't understand how people can afford to buy a big house/expensive car/go on holiday to somewhere exotic" etc etc.

Luckyingame · 30/12/2025 20:50

Just people 😁

LostittoBostik · 30/12/2025 20:51

I thought this thread would be lighthearted and amusing, but it’s just mean. Disappointing.

NotDarkGothicMama · 30/12/2025 20:55

I refuse to apologise for being mean about The Orange One. I often feel embarrassed for him. He should be apologising to me!

MoonWoman69 · 30/12/2025 21:00

Adults who love Disney.

LizzieVereker · 30/12/2025 21:08

People who go to the gym presumably to keep fit, but are so utterly desperate to park as near to the entrance of the gym as humanly possible, that they routinely take up blue badge spaces, staff spaces, spaces which are not actually spaces. And then sit in their car vaping for ages.

Bikergran · 30/12/2025 21:12

bleakmidwintering · 30/12/2025 16:24

People who buy Christmas wrapping paper on 27th December.
People who buy tons of handbags.
People who live for next holiday to Spain and can’t manage without having their next holiday in the sun booked.
People who talk about cleaning endlessly. It probably signals some psychological imperfection that they need cleaning in themselves.

People who buy Christmas wrapping paper, cards etc on December 27th....and can then remember where they put them next year..... 🤔

All of this. But the Botox lips thing I just CANNOT understand. WHY???? You’re paying money to make yourself look worse! Why?

people that decide to let their out of control dogs off the lead to bound all over / around other people. What are you thinking? How unbelievably entitled!!! One of these arseholes is the reason why my 5 year old now flatly refuses to enter any public green spaces. Just too traumatised. Wankers!

inmintcondition · 30/12/2025 21:15

People who say they’re glad to be back at work after the Christmas holidays.

RideTheGoat · 30/12/2025 21:17
  • People who only eat breakfast foods for breakfast
  • Morning people
  • People who ask "how are you?"
  • People who thrive on attention
  • People who don't like cats
  • People who call others "Hun"

I could go on, but I don't have all night! 😅

Blasterplaster · 30/12/2025 21:18

People who say transwomen are women. They’re not. You know they’re not. Everyone knows they’re not. Every time you say it you lose even more credibility. People are sniggering behind your back. I’m looking at you, Liberal Democrat supporters!

HolidayMouse234 · 30/12/2025 21:22

People who are balanced and organised. Like going to bed at 9pm every night and meal prep before work/school run. Eat a balanced diet and manage to fit in regular exercise. The ones who always have what they need for whatever occasion and always look perfectly put together. I just don't get them and am envious. How is it possible to live like that?! Dont you feel scatty, forgetful, overwhelmed? Dont you just find yourself binge eating, drinking too much, sleeping too late? I wish i was like them.
