Yes its not as straight forward and yes there are many workers that you could argue do more, but when your guiding and running large businesses and dealing with various people etc,

I don't even understand what you're looking for here? Do you want to know people's views? You've already said it's controversial so you already know.

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 30/12/2025 11:32

The average billionaire can decide "sod this, I've had enough, I can retire any time I want". The average worker can't.

usedtobeaylis · 30/12/2025 11:32

No.

it was a bit like an essay topic having a debate on it, and general conversations around it

true but when most of the business is in stocks and shares rather than cash in the bank etc then its a different ball game

but without people like them , half of society would not be workers

But it’s wholly disproportionate. In other words the financial rewards do not reflect the proportionate stress. Of any job.

I think that poster meant, as I did, ‘Are you normally this incapable of expressing yourself clearly?’

that i can agree with but part of that is the whole stock market and stocks and shares value combined with their salaries etc

That perspective is not controversial, it is just downright silly.

TrumpDerangementSyndrome · 30/12/2025 11:42

Dafuq are you on about? Your title is too long and your proposal is enough to cure the hardiest of insomniacs.
Maybe switch to decaf for the rest of the day and lay off the Columbian Marching Powder?

only with ai as then it can keep up and give detailed answers, i would prefer humans but trying to get the sheldon coopers of society to debate with is very rare

But it’s not just about jobs…any jobs. Amazon is notorious for being a poor employer. And for every job they might have created, how many more small businesses have been driven to bankruptcy.

You could say that’s just the way capitalism works but right now outright capitalism isn’t working well for a lot of people.

So pre-Musk and pre-Bezos, half of society wasn't working?

I can't take someone seriously who holds up Elon Musk as someone to admire and emulate.
