How many of you love your job

I am genuinely interested having been weighing up my options and going round in frustrating circles.
I would like to know how many people feel fulfilled by and enjoy their work and if you do, what work do you do?

Not classed as a 'job' as I don't earn but I'm a stay at home mum, have been for the last 13 years and I just love being at home with my children 😊

I love mine. I'm a senior youth mentor. No 2 days are the same, very rewarding, rarely boring & meet some lovely young people & my colleagues are just the best

This is me but I am a maths teacher in FE.

Greyrock2828 · 29/12/2025 22:32

Fashion designer- love it

Loloblue · 29/12/2025 22:33

I do! Artist practitioner and academic

ChaliceinWonderland · 29/12/2025 22:36

Wow, so positive. I detest my job. The thought of going back makes me feel ill. I feel trapped. It's a low paid school role. I'm searching for anything else but at 54 it's hard

Daisy54 · 29/12/2025 22:38

I would, if I instructed fewer classes.
I am a mat and reformer Pilates’ instructor.

I love my job. I’m a specialist bra fitter and work with some lovely people, both staff members and customers. There’s often an element of personal counselling, emotional support and body confidence boosting, being half naked seems to embolden people to confide in you!
The difference you can make to someone’s entire existence in as little as half an hour cannot be overstated. Job satisfaction is unmatched.

@marriednotdead
I love that you do your job in such a lovely way. I'd love to be fitted by you and have a lovely conversation 💕

EggsBen · 29/12/2025 22:43

I worked in childcare for decades and genuinely loved it. I spent 15 fantastic years as a nanny before taking a break and changing direction.
I’m now self employed making memory bears, and can’t believe I’ve been so fortunate to have found a second career that I absolutely love.

Marble10 · 29/12/2025 22:43

I do, although it’s a challenging role with complex people. I work for a council in housing.

FeeLipa · 29/12/2025 22:50

I'm a dog walker and pet sitter. Absolutely love it. (Decent thermals and boots 100% needed to make it bearable in some weather.)

I got burnt out from working in dog rescue. It went from eyeless breeding bitches following the COVID puppy boom, to XLs being dumped at the gate. People can be awful.

I can pick my own hours, be very choosy with what clients I accept and it fits in well with DC, weekends and school holidays. I'm earning more now with much fewer hours than in a kennel.

Mummadeze · 29/12/2025 22:59

Mostly. I work in TV broadcasting. It can be very rewarding and creative. My manager is difficult to work for however which puts a dampener on the job. And my job security always feels up in the air. I really like the actual work itself though.

I used to love my job. Like wpuod have still done it even if I won the lottery loved it. Was a midwife on labour ward. Then I switched roles to a community based role that fit around the kids better, I don’t hate it but I’m perimenopausal, knackered and I take it home with me now. I feel like I’m losing the love for my job to be honest. It’s sad, I used to feel so lucky to adore what I did.

Midwife is my dream job. I’m fascinated by conception, pregnancy and birth, so much so that I actually read one of the text books needed for the degree!

But it’s so competitive and the NHS is such a mess, I’d probably never get a job if I got the degree.

Duckiewasthefirstniceguy · 29/12/2025 23:37

I adore mine. I’m the Director of a non-profit (not the cuddly, public facing kind, the unwieldy acronym, political kind). It’s very very fun if you’ve a certain sort of mind.

I am in the very fortunate position of not having to work to live. So, I genuinely only work because I enjoy it so much.

MondeoFan · 30/12/2025 00:35

Speech and language therapist. Love it. Work with children with Autism, Selective Mutism etc the parents are so grateful for everything I do they make me feel like I’m the queen. Also love my 2 work colleagues. The setting I work at is lovely too - large open space

Me. I'm a university lecturer and I love it.

Fabulous job

ZenNudist · 30/12/2025 00:54

Love my job. I'm a partner in a large professional services firm. Every day is a new challenge. I love being in charge and making decisions and thinking long term and helping my team. I wish I got paid more for the stress of the role but I really like the people who work for me so it's hard to go elsewhere.

Aquarius91 · 30/12/2025 01:02

I love my job and can’t ever imagine doing anything else! I’m an NHS midwife. Lucky to work in a great unit with the absolute best bunch of people. My job is varied, exciting, challenging but rewarding. Obviously it can be a stressful role but I thrive under pressure and enjoy the challenge. It helps that my team are very close knit and supportive. I’m based primarily on delivery suite at the moment, although we do rotate to keep our skills up. I genuinely feel fulfilled and love going to work.

TheFormidableMrsC · 30/12/2025 01:25

SEN TA. I love my job.

Bones101 · 30/12/2025 01:34

I adore my job but I'm thinking of making a change. I work as a consultant in emergency medicine but miss paediatrics. My Dad works in the paeds ED nearest to me though, so he will be butting in like he did when I was on placement there.. so we shall see 🤣

Toddlerteaplease · 30/12/2025 01:59

Paediatric nurse for 22 years. Love it.

Alwaysmuddybuthappy · 30/12/2025 04:28

I do!
I retrained as a gardener 7 years ago and now work for myself and absolutely love it.
I enjoy working outside and the fact that my job is flexible and fits around school hours. Love helping people who can't look after their gardens themselves. Have the best customers.
Definitely don't miss the office politics, appraisals or micro management.
Gardening suits my semi reclusive personality 😉

Natsku · 30/12/2025 04:40

I loved my last job, was an aircraft mechanic building a prototype plane. Was so interesting and challenging and a very pleasant workplace but investors pulled out so got laid off Sad

Now I work in a composite factory making different things, mostly satellite parts which is kinda cool, and I enjoy it a lot, and the people I work with are fun (and a couple are very eccentric which is amusing) but the pay isn't great and I does tire me out so not sure I love it but I am happy here.

Thank you! If central London is doable then it can be arranged, feel free to PM me 😊

Tormundsbeard · 30/12/2025 05:04

Yes I love my job. I work in TV Production which was my dream job when I was young.

Bearlady · 30/12/2025 05:51

I work in property which I find fascinating as really suits me. It's office and outdoors based so a balanced mix. I really enjoy all aspects of it so a pleasure and living my dream. I have witnessed others with better paid money be so miserable no thank you.
