Have just seen this on a podcast

What is your immediate answer/thought?

Son

You think more women are killed by their sons than by their partners?

Pixiedust49 · 28/12/2025 20:24

Yourself?

DinoLil · 28/12/2025 20:25

An ex.

usedtobeaylis · 28/12/2025 20:25

Could be any man. Ime, step father.

GreenPoms · 28/12/2025 20:25

Streetissoquiet · 28/12/2025 20:23

Just one specific person..so we can’t really say a man.
The first thought I had was the right answer. It was interesting how the other man in the podcast couldn’t come up with an answer really and how the majority of women do instinctively know

We can say a man. The data shows that most violent and sexual abuse inflicted on women and girls is by men.

Streetissoquiet · 28/12/2025 20:26

GreenPoms · 28/12/2025 20:23

It’s so tedious when an OP starts a threads like this and then doesn’t post. It makes the whole question feel so disingenuous.

Why? I wanted to see if it was true, the theory that women will automatically know the answer, men won’t.
If it’s tedious, you’re welcome to go to another thread.

The man you have children with who’s abusive. Harder to leave than pre children

Pavementworrier · 28/12/2025 20:01

Son

Really? What makes you say that?

Nn9011 · 28/12/2025 20:27

Her husband/partner, unfortunately most women are not harmed by strangers but the men who live in their houses.

Well yes obviously but i’m saying it was more specifically which man

therewasafishinthepercolator · 28/12/2025 20:28

First thought: Trump.

Second: partner.

NotrialNodeal · 28/12/2025 20:28

For little girls it has to be their mums boyfriend or their stepdad. For women I would say their partner/husband.

Streetissoquiet · 28/12/2025 20:28

Yes it is husband/long term partner, trying to share the link here

OP posts:
gabsdot45 · 28/12/2025 20:29

A step father.
The instance of sexual abuse goes up enormously when a step father come on the scene.
This is a statistical fact

MaggieBsBoat · 28/12/2025 20:29

Her partner. He’s the person she’ll be the most vulnerable with and is behind closed doors with. The potential for danger is very high indeed. We need to choose our mates wisely. I say that as a woman who was nearly killed by her husband.

ItsChristmasEve · 28/12/2025 20:29

Her partner or her past partners.

pteromum · 28/12/2025 20:29

Reading this cold.

a partner, or a jealous female friend.

that’s who have harmed me most.

Statistically it’s a man. However, a female “friend” can be as mentally destructive to someone as anything

Streetissoquiet · 28/12/2025 20:29

It was Dr Gad Saad on the Steve Bartlett podcast

Yes definitely heard that too. I think this was in the case of a grown woman

For children very likely, but OP said most dangerous for women.

Pavementworrier · 28/12/2025 20:30

NotrialNodeal · 28/12/2025 20:26

Really? What makes you say that?

As an adult woman it's the man most likely to kill you after your partner and you at least have some chance to spot dangerous behaviour and leave (or avoid to begin with) but you get the son you're given and the law will punish you for trying to leave

moggerhanger · 28/12/2025 20:31

Given the risk posed by pregnancy and childbirth, I'd be tempted to say her child.

starrynight009 · 28/12/2025 20:31

Current or former partner.

Sillysoggyspaniel · 28/12/2025 20:33

Their baby. Childbirth is still one of the riskiest things women do.

Tryingatleast · 28/12/2025 20:34

I think Steve Bartlett always plays up to his guest so ‘oh wow I’d never have thought of that’ etc.
