To be sad the ber months are over nearly

I really enjoy the months of September-December much more than the rest of the year particularly the summer and around my birthday.

Nope, I feel the same. I always feel a bit sad on the winter solstice knowing the days will
be getting longer again.

TheGrimSmile · 25/12/2025 01:15

I agree. I also dislike the thought of longer days and hot weather.

LancashireButterPie · 25/12/2025 01:17

I completely disagree!
I don't dislike autumn but I can't wait to see the snowdrops flowering soon.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 25/12/2025 01:18

I can’t wait for spring now, Christmas is the only good part of winter

Winterburn · 25/12/2025 01:18

I used to love winter, but the last couple have been very difficult. I’ve found I have zero motivation to leave the house after dark so I’m in loungewear by 5pm and feeling like it’s bed time. I have always liked the changing of the seasons though, and I’m looking forward to spring.

TheOccupier · 25/12/2025 01:18

YABVU. Winter is depressing and cold and dark. How can you not enjoy sunshine and daylight?!

usedtobeaylis · 25/12/2025 01:18

Yes same. I experience a bit of something like SAD and much prefer these months.

coconutchocolatecream · 25/12/2025 01:20

Yes, I look forward to the last quarter of the year all year long, and this time around I was distracted by some health issues and resultant lifestyle changes. It's not the end of the world, but it is disappointing, and I feel like I missed out on enjoying the last few months to the fullest.

I'm glad that at least we have some time before summer swings back around, and I'll be trying to make the most of things, even when it's not my favourite season.

SecretWitch · 25/12/2025 01:47

Yes. I hate the sun and hot weather. I wish it were chilly and rainy every single day

usedtobeaylis · 25/12/2025 01:56

Why is there even an assumption that everyone should and must like bright light and heat, especially at the same time? People think winter is cold and miserable but I really don't like being hot and miserable.

Do you live in England? If so, surely your wish is granted all year long!

dayslikethese1 · 25/12/2025 02:08

Don't worry, there's plenty of cold wet months to go.

VoltaireMittyDream · 25/12/2025 02:11

What am I reading? Give me endless summer - or at least one of those British ‘heat waves’ where it gets to 20 degrees and stops raining for two whole days.

Our rainfall is less each year and parts are still at drought level. We had temperatures into the 30s. This was the hottest summer on record in the UK. How can people not notice this?

Tutorpuzzle · 25/12/2025 08:41

I agree @HoppityBun , I vaguely remember the 1976 heatwave, and people referenced it for decades when discussing hot weather. Now it’s pretty normal to have temperatures in the 30’s for days at a time throughout our summers (certainly in the south east).

I’m house hunting in the new year and the top priority is going to be a north facing garden!

SunnieShine · 25/12/2025 08:46

Me too, @Thetelly8

The Ber months are by far my favourite time of year.

Still, only another 8 months and they've back. 😁

Watchoutfortheslowaraf · 25/12/2025 08:47

I quite like the ber months but I do also love April to August too. I just hate January- march and wish them away so we can head into spring

Wednesdaysotherchild · 25/12/2025 08:50

Ugh no, they are the worst part of the year. As the days start lengthening and flowers start to come out, I feel happier and happier.

KimberleyClark · 25/12/2025 08:53

I quite like Jan-March, there is the Six Nations and Valentine’s Day!

Lottapianos · 25/12/2025 08:59

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 25/12/2025 01:18

I can’t wait for spring now, Christmas is the only good part of winter

I'm the opposite - I love September to November and I'm sad when Autumn ends but I can't stand Christmas! 😁

I love Winter, apart from Christmas, but that said, I enjoy the change of seasons. Longer days and blossom everywhere in the Spring is lovely

InterestedDad37 · 25/12/2025 09:02

Me too. The -ber months are my favourite time of the year (incl my birthday) 😊

Lampzade · 25/12/2025 09:05

I love Spring , March April , May .
I feel more alive in Spring

AintNoStroppinessNowHesInTheBoot · 25/12/2025 09:06

I also love September - December, but I also love March - May, so I'm looking forward to that. I get awful hayfever in the summer and I don't usually enjoy January and February

MyOtherProfile · 25/12/2025 09:07

I feel like I've found my people - at least some of you. I love winter, the cold and the dark. I love the lights in the dark and would love colder weather. I love big jumpers, thick socks and boots, and walks in the fresh, cool air. I'm glad we still have January and February to go.
