I really enjoy the months of September-December much more than the rest of the year particularly the summer and around my birthday.

Ever since I moved to a city that is completely overrun with tourists over Christmas and New Year, I really look forward to January. All the decorations, holiday markets, etc. stick around for a couple of weeks, but you actually get to enjoy them without being crushed.

Favourite months are May to Sept.

I used to be like this to the point I struggled in summer with the heat and long days. But now I've totally switched, the last few winters have been particularly bleak, my normal depression gets unbearable and I absolutely live for summer now ☀️

I was the same and used to really crave the coziness of winter - I think it’s because I was a bit miserable and just wanted an excuse to curl up on the sofa and isolate myself for a few months! Nowadays I’m a much happier person who adores spring & summer - more time to get outdoors & socialise.

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 25/12/2025 13:36

I love Christmas, but my favourite seasons are autumn and spring.

If the year could go
March
April
May
Early June
Late September
October
Early November
December 18th - 25th

I'd be very happy 🤣

sanityisamyth · 25/12/2025 13:39

Roll on spring and summer. I cannot stand autumn or winter.

louderthan · 25/12/2025 14:00

I can’t wait for spring personally. My favourite time of year. Everything fresh and hopeful x

I'd very happily dump June, July and August, but I'd keep January, February because I like both of them.

Me too. The -ber months are my favourite time of the year (incl my birthday) 😊

Me too!

Can’t be doing with too hot due to menopause, but do enjoy getting the washing out!

Quite like the Ber months, I too have a birthday in November.
Happy to get to the end of today, tomorrow if I’m honest.

Jackiepumpkinhead · 25/12/2025 14:10

I know what you mean, I like them too. I enjoy most of the year though, apart from January really. In February the days are noticeable longer and lighter and then spring is on its way!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 25/12/2025 14:14

I feel similarly. But I like January and February too. Spring is okay, but I hate July and August is fucking awful.

23doorsdown · 25/12/2025 14:17

I like Jan & Feb as it’s the months I am most able to save!

Monkeytennis97 · 25/12/2025 14:18

I’m already happy as the days are getting slightly longer… I don’t like November and December. By the end of January it won’t be dark until 5pm… roll on!!

Diplidocus4 · 25/12/2025 14:20

Neighbour has had snowdrops flowering all of December . Crazy !

Oldandgreyer · 25/12/2025 14:23

I have an allotment. I love spring. I hate hot weather though.

IvyEvolveFree · 25/12/2025 14:25

I can't wait to get my mornings back and not have 6 am feel like the middle of the night. Similarly there's nothing more beautiful than evening light. Nearly there. It's almost 'our' time!

GennaroHolly · 25/12/2025 14:29

I don't like March to June. July to February is all good!
I'm not overly affected by weather, I'm OK with most of it. I dislike heat and hay-fever intensely though.

Winter is my favourite season.

usedtobeaylis · 25/12/2025 14:37

I genuinely find the autumn and winter a bit magical, like anything could happen. I feel like in the summer I can't be bothered with anything happening. Its just draining to me. April-August is just a bit bleh.

I think some people are just suited to living in Scotland's weather and seasons and I'm one of them. I've never been and never will be a sun seeker.

mondaytosunday · 25/12/2025 14:44

Autumn is my fave time of year. I agree a few dull weeks but then I’ll spot a daffodil late January and I’ll start dreaming about our Easter holiday to the US to see family (we were to be there now but my son couldn’t get the time off work). That also means three birthdays - ugh I’m in my 60s don’t like it! Just had a passport photo done and I thought I was ‘smizing’ but I look like a middle-aged matron with a temper on.

Lasnailinthecoffin · 25/12/2025 14:49

I really don't like winter and the dark mornings and early dark evenings etc. However I'm currently in Northern Norway with very little natural light at all. I'm looking forward to the improvement when I return home shortly.

BlooomUnleashed · 25/12/2025 14:52

I’ve appreciated them more this year than any other year of my life. I think it helps that the temperature has been much much warmer than average… and I have a SAD lamp right next to the bed. I used to feel like I was trying wake up from hibernation, but the light has helped with that. So I’ve been out in nature more in the mornings and early afternoons.

Plus a group of Magpies have been entertaining me every morning on the electricity line outside my bedroom window.

However… I can almost smell Spring in the distance now the days are going to be getting longer.

But it’s been lovely not to wish a large chunk of the year away. Although I reserve the right to fall over in July due to stinking heat. There’s no SAD lamp for that issue. My blood pressure plummets when it’s too hot.

Wynter25 · 25/12/2025 14:57

xxlostxx · 25/12/2025 02:01

Do you live in England? If so, surely your wish is granted all year long!

England doesnt rain all year long 🙄 thats scotland!

SusanChurchouse · 25/12/2025 15:07

God no. I find the 16 hours of darkness quite oppressive, especially as my night vision has deteriorated. My favourite weather is crisp and cool (but not cold) so a sunny March or April day cheers me up. I do quite like the summer and the heat, despite being a menopausal redhead, but then I live in Scotland where it never gets that unpleasantly hot.

xxlostxx · 25/12/2025 15:08

Wynter25 · 25/12/2025 14:57

England doesnt rain all year long 🙄 thats scotland!

Mostly does in the north west!

xanthomelana · 25/12/2025 15:15

Can’t wait for spring. When the cherry blossom trees bloom I’m happy 😊

Unpaidviewer · 25/12/2025 15:16

I used to feel the same but as I've got older I've really started to apprieciate each season. I love the colours, smells and fodd from autumn. Winter is all about spending those longer nights with family, I always hope for snow but we currently live too far south. Then spring is all about rebirth so lots of gardening and time outdoors. Summer is all about family days out and evenings in the garden. I think if you hate a season then try to change up your life to give you things to look forward to.

YearOfTheDrizzle · 25/12/2025 15:22

usedtobeaylis · 25/12/2025 01:18

Yes same. I experience a bit of something like SAD and much prefer these months.

That would be the opposite of SAD! Biology explains SAD. There is no rational explanation for disliking sunlight and it not being cold and dark - both of which naturally increase risks to mammals like humans.
