To have not lied to DS about trans actor in Last Christmas?

Watching above with DD17 (lesbian) and DS11 (straight) earlier today. One scene where a female presenting (long hair + fake eyelashes) but clearly biologically male actor plays a doctor (just Dr). DS says "that......lady sounds like a man".

I said yeah it is a man love. A man who identifies as a sex they are not.

DD paused then typed a wee bit more furiously than usual for 30 secs but then was ok. She knows tbf. She's lesbian and not pan.

It was so distilled down to me at the point of his very innocent (and tentative so as not to offend question) that I am not prepared to lie to my kid about the fucking fundamentals of life and tell them that person is a woman. Fuck that.

Merry Christmas 🍷

Also FUCK THAT FILM 😭😭😭😭😭

i prefer a more neutral response that better aligns with my values. That is a man. Men can present themselves however they choose and there is nothing wrong with making non-traditional choices.

If he is confused, follow up with the specifics that men can choose their hair and clothing and even wear makeup.

they can but they are still men.

Almost EVERYTHING in the natural world is on a bell curve and skeletal structure and size certainly is.

I have male pattern fingers. Look it up.

Tell NW tonights Annabel Tiffin that women don't have square jaws.

Rtc etc etc etc etc@

No it really isn't. Fingers are not the same as hips and the pelvic bone.

Anyone heard of April Ashley? She had a successful career as a model in the 60s and appeared on the front cover of Vogue. No one knew she was male u til she was outed by a childhood acquaintance.

Long male neck and jawbone stick out. And that is even with the airbrushing. So bs no one kne.

But bell curves are for two characteristics of one discrete thing.
Dimorphism isn't two characteristics of one discrete thing. It is literally two discrete things with different characteristics. Male humans and female humans are discrete (excluding genetic anomalies - look up "anomaly" if you're unsure). You can't plot that on a bell curve. That's not how statistical representations work.

Edited

Bell curves are the distribution of ONE characteristic in a population. For any male or female characteristic, with few exceptions, there is overlap between the male and the female bell curve of every charactertic.

The most naturally feminine male in the world will look more like a woman than the most masculine woman does.

What characteristic specifically are you talking about?

Most men don't have BO, and I defy anyone to smell the difference between males and females when both sexes are now drowning themselves in perfume.

Wtf? Are you serious? We all have body odour! Every single one of us. And we all have pheromones.

Nope. There is currently no scientific proof or consensus that humans have pheromones.

If I didn't say it then please don't infer that I think it.

You must because you are bending over 360 degrees while clutching desperately at straws to make the point that we cannot tell men from women. At least be honest about your agenda.

sadtimess · 27/12/2025 11:23

What always makes me laugh is that no one can EVER tell us what living as a woman means.

I can only assume living as a woman rather than being a woman must mean role play?

C sections would never have been invented if all women had wide hips/pelvis

Dear lord.

What on earth!!!!

HolyFocacciaa · 27/12/2025 11:30

What a vile human you are, gloating and proud that you’ve been deliberately hateful towards somebody and for what? Why does it matter to you? I bet your DD was texting her friends about you.

BlakeCarrington · 27/12/2025 11:31

Catssuddenlyappear · 25/12/2025 23:19

I would love to know what DD17 (lesbian, because apparently that's a relevant detail) was typing on her phone, hopefully both her and the straight 11 year old have some normal adults in their lives

As an aside, it's strange how joyless terfs always look

Maybe Sandie Peggy is looking a bit pissed off because her employer tried to force her to undress in front of a man then bullied and harassed her when she refused. I’d be royally pissed off too.

What is hateful about the truth?
Genuinely please tell me what is hateful about saying a man dressed in a dress is a man dressed in a dress?

Explain, @HolyFocacciaa , WHERE OP was at all 'hateful'? She didn't even say she disagreed with trans, she didn't say it was wrong. She simply confirmed to her son that the person playing the part is a person who was born male. That's all she did. She said NOTHING...ELSE.

How is that 'hateful'? People like you who lie, distort, misrepresent and use hyperbole are the ones being hateful and causing hate.

uhtredofbattenberg · 27/12/2025 11:35

Why 'fuck that film' ? Its a good film. What do you mean by your dd being 'not pan'.

I bet you don’t come back to explain exactly which part of the OP was hateful?

I take your point about beech births but my point about variability in hip width stands.

The desperation is amongst women who are obviously completely terrified by the idea that there may be men around who they can't tell from women.

I'm sorry for you that you live in such fear.

And I think it is bizarre that you have no empathy at all for the damage your views do to "unfeminine” women.

Because it doesn't matter. Why does it affect you how people identify? It doesn't affect trans people that you don't identify as trans.

It affected Sandy Peggie hugely when a man ‘identifying’ as a woman insisted on sharing a changing room with her and her female
colleague at work and the NHS sided with the man.

sadtimess · 27/12/2025 11:48

Peonies12 · 25/12/2025 21:20

Why do you just assume your DS is straight? Have they told you that ? Shame you’ve ruined your Christmas for such stupidity, who care how people want to dress or do make up

No one cares if men wear makeup or cares if they wear dresses. We care if they then claim they are biological woman. The word woman refers to our biology not a feeling in someone's head.

I’m sick and tired of men feeling and therefore claiming they ARE my biology. Men should make up their own description with a new word that isn’t already taken.

If 1 in 4 women weren't sexually assault because of their biological sex.

If I didn’t have top change my behaviour to accommodate threats from biological men.

If I didn’t have to deal with lower pay for the same work

If there wasn’t a call to the police every 3 secs for domestic violence where 98% of the perpetrators were BIOLOGICAL males

And very importantly if there was any evidence that men with feelings of being a woman (whatever that means) had the same rates of sexually and violent offending as biological women I might then consider lowering the protective boundaries from biological men such as single sex spaces.
