Those prisoners starving themselves, what the hell is going on in this crazy world!!!!

Pro Palestine activists are on a hunger strike, I really hope you get the result you want, the people of Gaza remember you seven kids who died for…… oh for them! 😂

I watched an interesting interview months ago now a young guy who was born in Israel then his father ended up being one of the head chiefs ( killers) in Hamas he know lives back in Israel after escaping…. His wise words were…. ‘ you lot in the west have no idea what is going on, with your protests and flags, stop trying to get involved in something we can and won’t be able to change’
This comes from a person on both sides who stayed very humble but very blunt.

Stop your silly little hunger strike, go and enjoy time with your family and friends you are lucky enough to be able to do that.

The marches are anti genocide..you muddled your words

No they’re not. If they were anti genocide, they would be marching against the much worse genocide in Sudan. It’s very clear the marches are anti Semitic, even if some of them are too stupid to realise. No mixing up of words.

Except everyone apart from the wilfully stupid marchers know it’s true

That's right, all the hundreds of thousands of them, along with numerous independent news sources, and prominent Jewish scholars such as Norman Finkelstein, Ilan Pappe and Avi Schlaim.

sickofsixseven · 18/12/2025 23:36

Even if you take out the assaults they committed, breaking into a military facility and damaging equipment is not a "peaceful protest", hence the criminal charges against them

Edited

It’s not violent if they confine their actions to damaging weapons of war. Using the weapons of war is guaranteed to be violent and cause terror. It is legal under international law to use any reasonable action to prevent a genocide if all other avenues of peaceful protest have been exhausted. Reasonable does not equate to violence against police officers.

These people have been imprisoned for peaceful protest ...that you think that's laughable says more about your moral values.

People like this won us the vote, the weekend, free healthcare, minimum wage and more ...but yeah laugh at principles...if you are young enough you cant watch ALL these rights be eroded

I think you're on the wrong thread. These people have absolutely not been imprisoned for peaceful protest.

Maybe they aren't doing it just for recognition from the people of Gaza,
Maybe they are on hunger strike as they just cant stomach that its now the new normal to sit back and watch Israel (killers) mercilessly murder innocent civilians and defenceless babies and children?.....
They are trying to make a difference however small.
Unfortunately every government has shown just how bloody spineless they really are and it will probably achieve nothing,

but YABU as I wouldn't be making snide jokes about it.

And Hamas haven't done what you are accusing Israel of?

They’re not comparable. Hamas are far far worse. Israel and the IDF are defending their own people and protecting them, whereas Hamas have never cared about the Palestinians or they wouldn’t have hidden under their hospitals and schools, using them as human shields, or diverted aid to themselves to line their own pockets and watch the people they claim to represent die. No comparison at all.

I agree that Hamas are vile yes, but being pro-palestine is not being pro-hamas.
It was not my argument at all
Hamas did not start out of nowhere, they formed after years of occupation, violence and cruelty under Israel and the IDF. October 7th was not the start of all this
Both hamas and the IDF have committed atrociries, and those actions should be condemned.
But the reality is that this isnot an equal or fair fight. Israel has a highly advanced military, while Palestinian civilians are effectively trapped, and let's be clear the Israeli government have used the Oct 8th attacks as justification for a full blown and well planned out genocide

So if we are invaded, you’d be happy if people broke into our military bases and destroyed our military assets. Are you saying these things with a straight face or after comic effect??

Israel was formed (as a replica of their original homeland) after facing millennia of persecution, exile, and genocide..

ThatNewMoose · 18/12/2025 23:13

Im not “ignoring Hamas”. Hamas are a terrorist organisation and what they did was horrific and indefensible.
But acknowledging that does not mean we stop talking about what Israel and the IDF are doing now. Hamas are terrorists, Israel is a state with one of the most powerful armies in the world and therefore held to international law.

Condemning Hamas does not give Israel a free pass to punish civilians, flatten neighbourhoods, and make Gaza uninhabitable. Yes Hamas committed atrocities but he Israeli government and IDF are now committing war crimes.
Being pro-Palestinian is not being pro-Hamas. It’s being pro-civilians, mainly children not being bombed, murdered and displaced.

We have all see the videos of how much joy it brings the IDF to murder Palestinian children for fun so dont give me that, 'oh what about Hamas' argument its irrelevant.
As of September the death toll for children alone is at about 19,423.....so tell me again how Hamas are in any way comparable to the IDF?

Much of what you reference wouldn’t have happened if Hamas hasn’t started a war…

Or if they’d returned the hostages…

Or allowed the Gazas to shelter in the miles of tunnels they’d built with the billions of dollars donated to them to rebuild Gaza after they destroyed the homes and industry gifted to the Gazans by the Israelis when they moved out in 2005.

Or shared the food they stockpiled in the tunnels so the people weren’t starving.

Norman Finkelstein:

Do Jews have the right to a place where they feel safe without risk of exile, persecution and genocide? Do they have a right to stand up against regimes whose stated aim is to destroy them?

You know that they claimed that the planes that they caused millions of pounds of damage to (being paid for by taxpayers) were being used to refuel Israeli bombers and that this is not true? That the planes couldn't refuel Israeli bombers even if they wanted to as they use different refuelling systems?

So the videos you’ve seen are enough to convince you that the IDF (all of them?) enjoy murdering Palestinians for fun?

Would it therefore be reasonable for someone to watch videos of civilians in Gaza celebrating the murder of Israelis and make such a sweeping statement in return?

Funny that, I've seen 100's of videos of the IDF being cruel in some way or another, and not one of how you describe.....

I believe it was broken by one man, as shown in the video. It doesn’t mean everyone protesting genocide is violent.

You must be reading different coverage of the trial to me because it wasn't just the one man who was armed.

From the BBC:

Footage played in the opening address was said to show Zoe Rogers brandishing and swinging a sledgehammer in front of a security guard, Angelo Volante.

He also said he had been whipped by Charlotte Head and threatened with a saw by Leona Kamio.

Eventually he retreated - but later returned with the police. As he led officers into the factory, video played to the jury on Tuesday was said to show Ms Kamio raising her sledgehammer over her head and bringing it down towards him.

She was then tasered - but continued to resist arrest. The video is then said to show Samuel Corner approaching Sgt Evans and striking her back with a sledgehammer.

"Having hit her once, he raised the sledgehammer again and hit her with it a second time," said Ms Heer.

"Fortunately, Sgt Evans was wearing a stab vest which may have absorbed the force of the impacts. Nevertheless she screamed in pain as she felt the force of the blows.

"She was immediately terrified that her spine had been damaged and when she tried, she was unable to get up."

Sgt Evans suffered a fractured spine and was unable to work for three months. Due to the ongoing impact of the injury, she has been confined to restricted duties.
