To think that antisemitism now needs to be tackled in the strongest possible way?

The Bondi thread in chat was eye opening.

Forty pages and a lot of it whataboutery, excuses and vile antisemitism.

It’s disgusting.

It needs to be called out. It needs to be rooted out.

I feel so sorry for the Jewish communities everywhere. How can they possibly feel safe?

You don't need to add your last part ON this thread. It's not relevant. Antisemitism exists independently from events in Gaza.

Yes I agree. But I think the rise in it is linked to Gaza

Then what definition of genocide would you use? Who do you believe is the authority on the word? And why, in your opinion, has Israel not met that definition?

I'm not expanding on your points when this isn't the CITME board. I'm here to offer my support to the biggest persecuted group, in history. God knows they need it.

My last point on this. Respectfully, I would argue this has nothing to do with Gaza. The only relevance is that 7/10 was deliberately and systematically used as a catalyst to heighten antisemitism by getting the west on side.

I think we will just have to disagree on this. I would, like you, offer my support to any persecuted group.

But 9/11 wasn't a genocide? I genuinely don't understand your point as you are not comparing like with like

Well it only wasn't a " genocide" because it was the US (and UK) attacking. They killed a hell of a lot more people in their defence . But no marches then? Why are you holding Israel to higher standards than our country? Israel went to war to defend herself after the most awful terrorist attack in history I think ( if you scale up the numbers). It was also nothing like other terrorist attacks...these animals were gleeful while they raped and terrorised, sliced off women's breasts and played football with them and they live streamed themselves, I have never seen such awful images apart from maybe the holocaust. I think Israel have tried to avoid civilian casualties as much as they can but when you're fighting a war with rats who hide underground with their civilian population as a shield that's always going to be hard. And I'm sure there have been war crimes committed ( as in any war) but on the whole the IDF are like any other western army ( mostly good people who care). Bottom line is Hamas need to disarm and leave now.

Why do you think the genocide is only "alleged" when the UN has confirmed it is exactly that?

Dropping in with a quick reminder that the UN International Independent Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory including East Jerusalem and Israel is made up of just three members- independent human rights lawyers appointed by the HRC, all of whom have a long history of extreme anti-Israel bias and antisemitism. They released their findings that in their opinion it's a genocide. The Commission does not speak on behalf of the UN, which has reported their findings, not confirmed them.

It has caused quite a lot of confusion amongst the hard of understanding.

Oct 7 was absolutely inhumane and barbaric and there aren’t enough words to describe how horrific an attack it was.

It was not perpetrated by the 20,000 Gazan children that have since been killed by Israeli bombs.

That is why people are objecting.

Palestinians, outside of Gaza aren't being targetted are they? Does the hate follow them around?.

No, the UN have not "confirmed" that it's a genocide. They don't have the power to do that. Either you are wilfully spreading misinformation or you have fallen for propaganda and don't know the truth

I have been corrected by another poster and should have qualified that it was UN commission not the UN, you are right. But there are many human rights organisations that believe what Israel has done/is doing constitutes genocide. Perhaps discussion of that is for another post perhaps but my point in bringing is up is that people attending these marches are protesting what they see as unnecessary and disproportionate violence against a group of people - while I can't speak for every single person at every single protest no-one I know has been motivated by anti Semitism.

This.

But no one wants children to get killed. When Hamas have stored their military operations in hospitals, schools, cities deliberately, then more children die in war than have to. Israel has given warnings, evacuated people etc but they are at war. The child dead toll is awful but Hamas started this, have openly stated they want their civilians to be " martyrs" and they hide in underground tunnels. So it looks worse to the West, they get support from the pictures they put out( a lot of which have been proven to be fake). And then you get marches on the streets of London and Manchester in support of them which fuels terrorism worldwide. Unless Hamas are gone, Gaza can't be rebuilt so I think our government ( and us, the general population) should be far more into supporting Israel to get that done. No more terrorists allowed to govern.

Very unfortunately Israel’s actions in Gaza will fuel terrorism, not defeat it.
I don’t understand why they can’t see this.

Hamas didn't 'start it'. It started in 1948.
I see you believe that the atrocities committed by the IDF are propaganda and I don't think I am going to change your mind on that. The comparative death tolls speak for themselves. I find it so desperately sad that you can't see that this is what people are protesting and have instead decided that any form of protest is inherently anti semitic.

Hamas and its people don't give a toss about civilian deaths. I don't understand why you can't see this. There is no revenge. I'm not just talking about the people inside Gaza, either. Once again, there is NO justification for antisemitism.

Leoari · 19/12/2025 22:46

5 times to accept a 2 state solution but no, rejected every time and always chose war ( thinking Israel wouldn't win) Why not just choose Peace?

The terrorist attacks are fuelled only by intolerance and hate. Sorry to say but events in Gaza are inconsequential to attacks on Synagogues and Jewish celebrations.

Therewillbeaway · 19/12/2025 23:01

There is even more hatred now.

Reports show an increase in anti-semitic attacks since the war in Gaza.

Well I guess ignorance tends to do that. Not sure how any of this is useful to this discussion.
