To think that antisemitism now needs to be tackled in the strongest possible way?

The Bondi thread in chat was eye opening.

Forty pages and a lot of it whataboutery, excuses and vile antisemitism.

It’s disgusting.

It needs to be called out. It needs to be rooted out.

I feel so sorry for the Jewish communities everywhere. How can they possibly feel safe?

I agree OP. I'm amazed and shocked at how many people are anti-semitic in this country. Even a few people I know that I thought were normal. They seem to feel able to say it out loud now. So many crawling out of the woodwork. Disgusting.

I do wonder sometimes if one day we will see a rewriting of history, similar to the trans debate.

People trying to backpedal and claim that they were never of that mindset, of course not.

Wow. This post is getting more and more Zionist unhinged. It started ok and it went downhill into oking the murder of thousand of Palestinian civilians as soviet propaganda.
and not a single word of thank you to the Muslim hero. Doesn’t for the agenda I guess.

Why are you conflating issues? I thought we were talking about anti semitism in the UK. People who bring Gaza into their arguments are just trying to make excuses for being a racist.

LucyWestenra · 17/12/2025 09:58

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/12/2025 09:49

IMO it’s very similar to the trans issue - the fact that the erasure of ‘woman’ from the dictionary was seen by many as what intelligent, right-thinking people - not the thick, unwashed masses - would support.

This sums it up perfectly I think.

But I guess in addition to that there are those that have always been antisemitic and are just celebrating the fact they now have all the useful idiots joining their ‘cause’.

Well, it was being referred to as Palestine long before the modern state of Israel was created.

You need to learn some proper history rather than swallowing recent propaganda hook line and sinker. There was no distinct Palestinian identity as it is understood today prior to Yasser Arafat. Previously all the various ethnic and religious groups living on the land were considered Palestinian. There were Jews, Arabs, Druze, and so on…

Yes, IMO there’s always been a mostly silent undercurrent, but Gaza has made it (to many) socially acceptable - even ‘fashionable’ - to come out.

Totally. Gaza is just an excuse to be racist out loud. Looking at MN over the last couple of years it's very clear that their passion over Gaza is not replicated in any other conflict.

As to how to stamp the anti semitism out, right thinking people perhaps need to speak up more so that it becomes unacceptable socially again. And those horrible hate marches need to stop. I hope people feel ashamed of themselves if they ever went on one. It was pretty clear from the start what they were really.

MaturingCheeseball · 17/12/2025 10:18

I see Sadiq Khan or at least his office tried to stop the vigil for Bondi. I can’t imagine the motives were anti-Semitic, more for safety like the Aston Villa shenanigans. But of course this just sends the message that we must capitulate to those who mean us (Jews and the general public) harm. Look at NYE in Paris - cancelled. I guess we’ve accepted we have to surrender to the enemy within.

I did find it shocking to read that a previous poster (sorry can’t remember the name) reported a colleague and nothing was done about it.

Its so entrenched.

No, it is good you did. Keep exposing the darkness! Keep reminding the world that the holocaust was real and still within living memory. Keep reminding the world of the rape, torture and murder of people simply having a fun time on 7 October 23. Keep reminding the world of the massacre of people simply having a fun time on 14 Dec 25. Keep reminding the world of the avowed intent of a certain section of the world is to eradicate completely, Jewish people off the face of the earth. Keep doing it, and exposing the true colours of those supporting the chants we hear, and the masked faces we see at pro ‘palestine’ marches - whilst they still have the right to their ‘freedom of speech’ in supporting a regime that will take away that freedom in the blink of an eye.

Very well written!

Where did I mentioned agenda? And I’m quoting what’s further up the comments.
Unhinged comments that no one asks any questions. People and children are being murdered in Gaza but we talk “soviet propaganda” of imaginary levels that people believe the Palestinians and that they shouldn’t be there? You ok, hun?
Palestinian children are still being murdered every day where’s the uproar on that?

Do you care about the Palestinians being murdered by Hamas or is it just Israel you have a problem with?

And the irony of calling other people’s comments ‘unhinged’!

This. It feels like it is open season on Jewish people. You couldn't (and correctly shouldn't) say that about all Muslims.

Agreed.

I don’t think anyone made comments about ‘Catholics’ after the IRA bombings in NW England thirty plus years ago.

I am sick of encountering blatant anti-semitism dressed up as concern for Gaza.

HappyFace2025 · 17/12/2025 10:48

LucyWestenra · 17/12/2025 09:35

I totally agree but unfortunately this government is going to do absolutely nothing to stand up for the Jewish community.

Just a few mealy mouthed speeches here and there which in the grand scheme of things mean f all.

The government couldn't even send a senior member of the Cabinet to the memorial for Bondi victims on the second night of Chanukah. If Keir had any bxlls at all he would have attended himself. After all, one of the rabbis murdered was British!

You are correct , some people always draw the ‘ but what about Gaza” to derail the conversation about horrific Jew hatred as they can’t seem to acknowledge that just maybe their morals are compromised

HappyFace2025 · 17/12/2025 10:55

Kingscallops · 17/12/2025 09:46

This isn't about the Palestinians, it's about an unrelated murder of innocent people celebrating on a beach. Why dont you just admit you're a racist. Don't bother to dress it up because you clearly wear it as a badge of honour. You actually hide your bigotry behind the millions of other bigots who feel proud to hate Jews. You're nothing but bullies feeling emboldened but heaven forbid anyone be so bold to do the same with Muslims. Bloody hypocrites. The lot of you. Cowardly hypocrites.

Well said. Far too many of them.

Yeah the rabbi at my congregation knew him as do most of the Rabbis in the UK as they all go to school together at some point. Am sure there are other victims with connections here too.

Spot on. The only violence we really need to be protected against is Islamist.

Peridoteage · 17/12/2025 11:10

There is a real issue with people conflating the actions of Israel (a state with a majority Jewish people) with all Jewish people worldwide. This is clearly absurd. Millions of Jewish people are not Israeli, have no family or connection to Israel, have never been there. Millions of Jewish people are outraged by the genocide in Gaza, and yet are subjected to anti semitism due to misplaced blame for Israel's actions.

Western governments should be shouldering blame for failing to intervene earlier when it was clear the response from Israel was disproportionate
