The belief that Israel does not deliberately kill civilians, deny human rights, occupy Palestinian land, imprison and totrture without trial, and have many many decades of such actions behind them. That is the collective belief system built on lies that I refer to.

Well, it was being referred to as Palestine long before the modern state of Israel was created.

People know being antisemitic is socially unacceptable but they also are antisemitic in their bones so they come up with justification about why it’s ok to treat Jewish people differently to all other people. Israel could literally turn the other cheek to any and all attacks on its citizens, give every Palestinian in Gaza a million pounds and a massive patch of land and people would still happily argue that the country shouldn’t exist because they don’t think there should be a Jewish state full stop. I’m honestly appalled by posters whose usernames I recognise and their antisemitism that they dress up as ‘criticism of Israel’ because I believe it is perfectly possible to comment negatively on the actions of a country without descending into racism but they seem incapable of it. It always comes out eventually that they believe Jews are collectively responsible for what other Jews do or what Israelis do what with it having the audacity to be a country that actively welcomes Jewish people.
