I’m just starting my Xmas shopping … I know I know… my 6 year old has put this on her xmas list. They’re ugly little dolls right? A six pack… she must mean small ones. I can only find keyrings. She’s also written “Labubu pencil case”… why aren’t there any Labubu things on Amazon?! Please help!

Yeah the Sports direct ones are from a third party seller "rewards and gifts LTD" I wouldn't risk spending nearly £300 on those if I were you.

Leftsidefacing · 11/12/2025 23:26

I’d just get one real one if they can be had for £18, its all she needs to hang on her bag and you don’t have to worry about duplicating it or having to buy that horrendous ‘six-pack’ to avoid duplicates.

I was shocked when I saw the price, they’re just little ‘troll’ type collectibles, right? Not even toys?

Glitterbaby17 · 11/12/2025 23:27

I got three queuing up at Popmart when my kids were desperate as knew neither would want pink so got one more than we need. If you want I can put it on Vinted for you? Is new in box - we just got one extra

Don't buy fakes they are dangerous. I've got a bag full of them I bought for my shop. I didn't know they were fake, found out a few days later and refuse to sell them I'd rather loose money than put kids at risk.

How are the fakes dangerous? I mean, they do look like they'd animate after you went to sleep, climb up the side of your bed and stick a knife in your neck, but ...

Pepperedpickles · 11/12/2025 23:29

Do not get fake ones if she’s asking for one, she will know it’s fake and be disappointed. Just get one of the £16-18 ones from Pop website as posted earlier - that’s better than 6 fake ones.

DisgruntledofTunbridge · 11/12/2025 23:33

I've only heard of them via this thread and I have to admit, they do have a certain appeal ... they remind me of those Pikachu little monkeys from the 80's, the ones with moulded plastic faces and fur fabric glued on, and they could suck their thumbs. I loved my Pikachu. These are Pikachus that have drunk Dr Jekyll's serum! Grin

but honestly, how much can they possibly cost to make? They look like I'd pay about a tenner tops.

Use of illegal material, potentially toxic, the dolls eyes fall out and become a choke hazard. People who make fakes just don't care about safety laws.

Yes that’s right.. I don’t even know what she will do with it ! Hang it on her bag i imagine.

anyway, I have a plan.

tomorrow morning I am going to announce that I heard it on the news that Santa doesn’t have enough Labubu’s to give out six packs, but he has said he’ll try to give every body that asked ONE Labubu plus a small extra surprise present. And I’ll ask her which colour she is hoping for.

see how that goes ….

Yes but that’s double the £18 they were on the original Popmart or whatever it is website a few days ago - I got two for dd.

Don’t ask re the colour. It’s a blind box. You can’t specify which colour - you get what you get!

You have to be careful with the Range online as a lot of their items are 'marketplace' items from third party sellers so you can end up with something crap and fake. I think sports direct also have third party sellers.

I would reccomend only getting them directly from Pop mart.

I saw them in the actual shop.

Joeninety · 11/12/2025 23:54

Lowenbrau perhaps ?

Needmorelego · 11/12/2025 23:55

People need to remember there is a difference between "fake" and alternative/similar brands.
Ones sold at legit high street shops (from the actual shop - not online) will not be "fake". Just a similar toy.

Alfontheshelf · 11/12/2025 23:56

Uniqlo has some quite cute labubu jumpers and T-shirts at the moment. They are an official collaboration with popmart

CherrieTomaties · 11/12/2025 23:58

Just wanted to say I love the drawing of the reindeer on her list 🤣

And at the top of the list, is that a BBQ? Sounds like you have an awesome child!

But yeah… I would probably get her 1 real labubu because 1 is expensive enough.

Perfect answer. These are touted as "collectibles". If Santa doesn't have enough for all 6 then at least she will have one genuine one she can parade for the kudos (we have all been there before, be it Cabbage Patch Dolls (showing my age here), Barbie, Furbies etc etc.

Her list is so cute, and of course source the pencil case where you can. That's what I would do.

SqishySqashmas · 12/12/2025 00:08

I am refusing to collude with all this Labubu nonsense. My DD asked for a Labubu too but she will not be getting one. Kids are so spoilt nowdays.

PyongyangKipperbang · 12/12/2025 00:11

WTF?!!!!!

I lived through the Teletubbie, Buzz Lightyear AND PS2 Xmases (all the same kid, luckily he was and still is not at all entitled or a brat because otherwise I would have deeply resented standing outside Disney store at 6am!) and even I find that outrageous.

This fucking profiteering of kids is disgusting.

Those thing will cost PENCE to make, the poor sods making them will be paid even less but because they do an online kid focussed marketing campaign, and kids are fucking stupid, some even stupider parents are prepared to pay the best part of £300 for something that will be lost or in the bin by next Xmas!

I bought a fake one for DD but actually threw it away when I saw the quality.
The hands and feet were barely attached and pulled out very easily, so a serious choking hazard.

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/12/2025 00:13

They’re really ugly. Buy her something else.
You’re in charge.

Theyre not really. They dont know how much these things cost when they ask for them, especially if you collude in the Santa Delusion, because if Santa brings them then they are free, right?

But I did have a few chats about how Santa brings them but I pay for them and I cant afford that, which sorted it out. It also explains why Kid Next Door got a PS5, an Xbox and a Porsche from Santa when my kid got a much cheaper gift. They were a lot more realisitic about their requests after that.
