Xmas nostalgia has been bad this weekend - why will someone not bring back mignons morceaux, cheese moments, worcester sauce crisps, cream and cheesy niknaks and those massive KP bignuts

It really is not Xmas without them!

Oh, mignon morceaux! And pretty much everything else that Phileas Fogg produced. Brand now owned by KP, apparently.

Elizabeth Shaw Mini Mint Creams. Similar in appearance to a Minstrel but just dark chocolate with a strong mint filling. My late Mum loved those.

Agree with all the comments about Roses, the chocolate is wierd and where the hell are the Noisette Whirls?

Coffee anything please but does anyone remember the Chocolate Coffee Beans with the liquid filling? Like tiny liqueurs with the sugar crust and a coffee liquid inside

Saw the Tunis cake in Tesco and. momentarily, thought about buying it but remembered that I didn't much like it.

And I buy the Orange and Lemon jelly slices on Amazon, DSD's favourite. Likewise Marzipan Fruits for a cousin, the brand is Walnut Tree. He's a Vegetarian so sometimes I get him their Marzipan Vegetables.

Mama2many73 · 08/12/2025 19:06

Not for xmas but I love/d scampi and lemon niknaks!

SliceofTosst · 08/12/2025 19:09

Thornton's continental casket. Cake shaped nougat with two layers filled with chocolates. My nan always gave us one 😭

GreenGreenGreenRed · 08/12/2025 19:12

I loved mignon morceaux when I was a kid!

I miss Twilights. The neapolitans too

I mean, it does have a limited-edition tea towel in, so probably totally worth it

Google the Fortnum and Mason hampers. They have one for almost 3k!

I feel your pain. These were magnificent.

You can't get anything coffee flavoured anymore, except coffee.

Thorntons did coffee flavour, but not anymore.

I really miss coffee creams in Roses, that and edible chocolate that doesn't taste a bit soapy.

🍫😞

You want these. Heaven.

Yes! Bloody twiglets! They used to be the best thing ever and now they’re disappointing flavourless sticks of misery. It’s an absolute national disgrace and I don’t know why people are not rioting.

🤣

M&s crisps were so flavoursome back then. Barbecue Beef & Onion, Salt & Vinegar so strong they'd make you sweat, prawn cocktail puffs, cheese tasters.

Also, Viennetta was totally different. The ice cream was dense, so was the chocolate, it was thick and crisp. I tried one recently and it was so... limp and frothy.

Cheese Footballs

They’re definitely still knocking about - the Smiths ones are in B&M

Left · 08/12/2025 20:54

Ohhhh I’d love some Mignons Morceaux right now!! What do we have to do to persuade KP snacks to relaunch them? I’d 100% contribute to a crowdfunder!

I usually get a box of Marzipan fruits from one of the kids at Christmas. I think they get them at M&S? I love them. And the best bit is no one else does I get them all.

Amazing ! Thank you. I need a trip to M&S then!

I had the tin of big mix but we’ve already eaten it so now I just have a tin 😁 I got all the coffee creams as no one else likes them, so that was a win. They do boxes as well so I’m going to get some and refill. Loads better than the sad sacks of palm oil and flavouring masquerading as Roses and Quality Street. I too miss Mingles and also lament the thin and delicious After Eight and will make do with whatever is in the box I bought that says it is After Eights but is probably an abomination.

Terrys are missing a trick with this. They could bring it back at Christmas times and have it in the shape of a Nutcracker soldier.

Solmum1964 · 08/12/2025 22:19

@Hemax1 Lakeland (the kitchen shop) also have marzipan fruits - on their website anyway.
They've also got free delivery on for the rest of today, if you're quick!

Terry’s Neapolitans

These were my Grandad's favourites and we had to include a box for his present every Christmas, so much so that we placed a box in his coffin with him. I miss Neopolitans, but miss my Grandad even more and would probably pay an extortionate amount of money at Christmas just for the memory of him💔
