To say that most people in the UK want illegal immigration to stop

1000 replies

Sleepysleepycoffeecoffee · 06/12/2025 10:12

I recently commented on a Facebook post to say the majority of British people are against illegal immigration. I was asked by several other users what survey I based that opinion on. I responded with the question ‘do you think most people want illegal immigration to continue then? Because if not, then surely they want it to stop?’ I didn’t receive any responses to that.
Without getting into any political arguments or name calling and giving no ifs, buts or reasons for your view, please vote as follows.

YABU - I want illegal immigration to continue.
YANBU - I don’t want illegal immigration to continue.

I have worked actually in care. Not as a care worker but in an ancillary role. Plenty of British people where I am. Which is surprising actually considering the demographics here. But then it is a working class area so not sure if that makes a difference.

More people would go into care if it was respected and not touted as non skilled work and paid a pittance. It’s incredibly skilled work. The emotional intelligence of the women and men I worked with was so high and it’s beyond my capability tbh and I am highly educated compared to them. So it’s not unskilled. It’s skilled in ways different to academic qualifications.

And just to make it clear I am not saying we shouldn’t have immigration because I am against immigrants. I have met many fantastic immigrants, many friends. It’s that we have now had so much immigration it’s unsustainable and we have ruined it for ourselves.

And I do like the Filipinos. I find them very gentle and polite actually, well mannered and due to the story’s they tell about corruption in their home countries seem to have an innate sense of morals, fairness and justice. They fit in well culturally. So if we have to invite anyone, happy for it to be them.

Yes I agree, the Phillipino nurses I have met are lovely

What exactly did they scrap? To what country were asylum seekers going to be sent?

You're being obtuse. The law made Rwanda legally safe as a matter of law. They plan was going to go into effect had labour not come in

A photo?! What are you trying to say? Don't be coy.

You can either deal with the deep systemic issues behind this situation, or you can shout at hotels.

What figure do you need ? And why ?

On 15 Nov 2023 the Supreme Court ruled that the Rwanda Plan violated the principle of refoulement. The implementation, which is subject to court rulings, rather than the law was the issue.

The doc from HMG of last month that I referred to above makes it clear that Labour is seeking third party solutions that will stand up in court.

The labour government could have just followed Rwanda. Gotten them out of here

It’s well known that only black nurses do this, they yank babies around because the nurse has skin of a certain colour. That black skin makes them yank babies around because of its colour.

Still, could have been worse, you might have got a white nurse.

Fixydodah · 10/12/2025 09:55

Because of successive government’s unwillingness to deal with this issue, we are going to end up with a far right government. The electorate has been pushed into a corner. Only recently have people been “allowed” to speak about illegal immigration, and it is too late to stop the right wing taking power at election time. Same thing happened at Brexit. Because nobody was allowed to air their views, they aired them via a referendum vote. That didn’t work because successive governments still ignored the issue. Same thing will happen at election time.

Apart from the worrying levels of sexual assaults on women and girls, it is the cost of all of this - the lawyers, the system, the accommodation etc at a time when all are financially squeezed. Optics are not good.

Plus immigrants that went through the system legally who may have lived here years, who have contributed to the country, are being lumped in with those who are already committing a crime by entering the country illegally. They will be unfairly made to feel unwelcome too, although they have done nothing wrong.

We have gone past the stage of thinking that these young men persistently trying to get here via boats (and despite the spin, it is young men) just want a safe life. They are not asylum seekers. They come here full of entitlement and outdated notions about women and their place in society, and the failure of successive governments to act is causing massive societal issues already.

The young men know via social media that we are a soft touch. They have no fear of the law or repercussions.

This is now a massive topic that everyone is talking about - not just right wing thugs - liberally minded people have also had enough. We have a long history of providing asylum. What is happening now isn’t that. Its madness.

Yes, the government just want to bring in as many people as possible, chuck out a bit of tough talk from Mahmood, and hope the British people won't notice.

Starmer and co either sort this out or we hand the next election over to Nigel on a plate.

Agree with you.

And I want to see mass deportations ASAP. I’d also take a good hard look at the legal system. I’ve truly had it with lawyers milking tax payers. Would be interested to see what a very right wing government would do with them, if anything at all. I would not be surprised if some are completely corrupt.

Successive failures of previous governments, the civil service and virtue-signallers have entirely caused this situation.

5MinuteArgument · 10/12/2025 10:45

We're so soft in this country. We should be protecting our people, especially women and children.

These people are laughing at us.

No, I don't want that. I want the government to get a grip on illegal immigration. And if they don't there's those that will. Not great, but that's how it goes.

Farage is not a dictator. His party would have to achieve a majority in the commons.
