To say that most people in the UK want illegal immigration to stop

1000 replies

Sleepysleepycoffeecoffee · 06/12/2025 10:12

I recently commented on a Facebook post to say the majority of British people are against illegal immigration. I was asked by several other users what survey I based that opinion on. I responded with the question ‘do you think most people want illegal immigration to continue then? Because if not, then surely they want it to stop?’ I didn’t receive any responses to that.
Without getting into any political arguments or name calling and giving no ifs, buts or reasons for your view, please vote as follows.

YABU - I want illegal immigration to continue.
YANBU - I don’t want illegal immigration to continue.

That poor 15 year old who has been raped by two asylum seekers. Her life turned upside down. Think of the long term damage they have done. For those of you saying British or white men rape too, the whole point is that if those two animals weren’t allowed to freely wander the streets, then that 15 year old would be ok as this would never have happened to her

What is? I bet it can be traced back to our overpopulation in some way (that’s not even bringing race etc into it, just sheer numbers).

It’s 100% our ageing demographics.

That’s where most of our tax revenue is spent.

That’s also who needs the NHS the most, leading to fewer appointments and longer wait times.

And before anyone else tears me a new one for daring to “blame the elderly” - I’m not doing that.

I found that this piece explains the issue well (despite the typo !)

Why Governments are Getting Bigger But Seamingly More Useless - Economics Help

Hampshire is one of the more prosperous parts of England, average house prices are over £400,000, but Hampshire County Council has the largest deficit in the UK. Like many local councils, it is at risk of bankruptcy. The council is spending more, but r...

So you’re saying that we abandon the concept of innocent until proven guilty ?

I think they meant they should never have been let into the country.

Which they shouldn’t.

bakebeans · 09/12/2025 10:24

There also needs to be a better system in place to get them out of the country especially if they have committed a crime.
This is a fine example of two illegal boys who arrived on a boat and gone on to rape a 15 year old girl. They will be spending their time in HMP funded by the taxpayer instead of being put on the next plane out of the country to serve their time in an Afghan prison.

They were found guilty? There is also evident video footage.

Like the Taliban would sentence them for a sex attack on a white non believer!

We - like every country except Libya - have a system in place for processing asylum seekers claims, obliging us to hear their case.

We have that because, like everyone else on this issue (except for Libya), we’re decent, have morals and remember the horrors of the past.

You can do this without allowing entry. And still be part of the convention.

HoneyParsnipSoup · 09/12/2025 11:29

There are 85,000 Afghan born people in the UK.

So the same number as a town the size of Bath.

Would you all find 7 men arrested for committing stranger rapes in Bath in 48 hours a lot, what you would expect, or not very many?

5MinuteArgument · 09/12/2025 12:00

It's increasing division in society because the main impacts fall on the less well off. Guess where the HMOs for asylum seekers are being set up? Yes, you guessed it, in the lowest income neighbourhoods.

But not to worry. If the people in those areas protest, the govt can just call them bigots.

Exactly. A ray of sense on here.

MyArmsAreTooLong · 09/12/2025 12:32

We don't "have" to do anything for them. We choose to. We can refuse entry and not let them in. We are full.

Legally they are entitled to make a claim for the right to remain. Currently they can only make this from when they are actually in the UK.

How would you propose refusing entry?

How does Canada control asylum applications from US? Legally what is in place to control asylum claims across that border?

There is a legal process for applying for asylum at the border but there are many points where the border isn’t secure and people cross into Canada unofficially

It’s such a strawman. Ask every person how they think we should deal with the homegrown scum & it will be at the most lenient they don’t see the light of day again however they were born here. Its bad enough they live here we don’t need to import more

No, generally you cannot claim asylum by crossing the U.S.-Canada border due to the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA), which requires you to claim asylum in the first safe country you reach (U.S. or Canada). If you cross from the U.S. into Canada to claim asylum, Canadian authorities will usually turn you back to the U.S., unless you qualify for specific, narrow exceptions like having family in Canada, being an unaccompanied minor, or facing serious danger if returned to the U.S

Is this the case?

But to do so would require us co-operating with the EU, and apparently that’s bad because of…something about the curvature of bananas.

Can you say more on how that is working for countries still in the EU?

Are there any issues with migration in ROI, Germany for example
