Evri are lying about attempting to deliver my parcels

IFeelLoveLikeTheRealStuff · 01/12/2025 17:48

I have four or five parcels that are with Evri at the moment. I keep getting notifications to say they’ve attempted to deliver them but it’s been unsuccessful and there’s now one thats being returned to the sender because they’ve “tried” three times. I can see on the doorbell camera that there’s nobody even coming down the path at the times they state they’ve attempted delivery. As a result I’m going to miss out on a load of Black Friday discounts and I’ll have to pay full price, plus I’ll be without dresses etc for my Christmas parties.

AIBU to raise complaints with each retailer and ask for discount codes to bring it down to the price I would’ve paid?

They’ll turn up eventually.

TheDandyLion · 01/12/2025 17:54

Usually it's purchase before delivery, how would you miss out on the Black Friday deals if you're parcels are with Evri - have you not paid for them?

ThatsCute · 01/12/2025 17:55

Parcelforce are doing the same—I was home all day, yet had a “Delivery Attempted - Address Inaccessible” text come through. I don’t live in a flat, or in a house with a gate—I live on a normal street, where there is complete access to my front door. WTF?

I shopped with next day delivery on Friday… come today and they’re all being returned because they’ve “attempted three times” and I’ve refused delivery by not answering the door (but they haven’t tried), most of the deals I’d found have either ended or sold out so I’ll be purchasing at full price now, hence missing out on the deals

I actually don’t know what their issue is. Usually Evri are amazing round near me but apparently this weekend they’ve just given up. And the doorbell is working fine because we’ve had plenty of other deliveries in the last few days!

It would be great if retailers told you which courier they are using then we could avoid evri.
They are a disgrace.
We ordered bikes and they lied and lied about attempting delivery. I was literally watching the door on camera when the message popped up that they tried to deliver.😂

Now the parcels that are “being returned” are apparently out for delivery between 7:30 and 8:30????? I actually cannot with this company 😂

My delivery man has actually told me he won't deliver to my address, he sits outside and updates the location, I was thinking of starting a thread on it. Can't get anywhere with Evri, M & S have been pretty useless likewise Victoria Beckham, Snag have been brilliant, could speak with someone who believed me and resent using Royal Mail. I have tried using a post office as a drop off, hasn't worked, it's unbelievable and I don't understand why companies use them.
Good luck but I think it's a miracle you need.

I’d use our local drop off shop but it’s awful. It’s run by one woman who can’t cope with the number of parcels they get on a usual day, let alone around Christmas!

They won’t turn up to collect mine.

Just get an email saying they can’t collect. No reason given🤔too busy delivering 3 times.

EndorsingPRActice · 01/12/2025 18:03

Happened to us a few times now, Evri saying they have attempted to deliver when they definitely didn’t. It’s infuriating.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 01/12/2025 18:06

I hope your parcels turn up today OP

Did he say why?

Changename12 · 01/12/2025 18:17

I have had this with a John Lewis parcel. Evri said that they had attempted delivery and had not. After 3 days and no further update on the site, I phoned John Lewis. It eventually arrived after 3 more promises of a delivery.

EmpressaurusKitty · 01/12/2025 18:07

Did he say why?

He bashed into my dp's car and drove off, and dp made a successful insurance claim . The delivery driver has actually said unless the insurance claim is dropped, he will not deliver any parcels to the house, can't get Evri interested. ( not even sure how the insurance claim could be dropped now as repair done)

yikesss · 01/12/2025 18:32

Is there no option for them to drop it off at a local shop? How frustrating

RedToothBrush · 01/12/2025 18:34

I've had Amazon claim they've delivered something this week. Nope you didn't.

Complained. 'we will redeliver tomorrow'.

No notification or a redelivery. And it's something that was by invite only so they won't have stock.

Blatantly been nicked by the driver because of the way it was done.

And Amazon customer service clearly have lied as, as expected, fuck all has turned up today...

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 01/12/2025 18:39

Well yeah that's an Evri MO I'm afraid.

martha79 · 01/12/2025 18:39

I'm currently waiting for an Evri parcel which was due between 4:30-6:30pm, after they allegedly tried to deliver on Saturday but "couldn't get access to the door or driveway" - which is odd because it's just a front door on a street, and I was sitting in the house at the time they say they delivered, so know that there weren't even any cars parked outside. They're usually not bad round here.

Edit - it's not even exciting, if they've stolen a big sack of cat litter they must be desperate!

CalmTheFuckDownMargaret · 01/12/2025 18:42

My entire street thought we had a parcel thief. Turns out the Evri courier told us all that parcels had been delivered and the proof was a photo of them all in a pile on the floor of the street. Clearly not attempted to deliver at all. We’ve all complained.

Nickay · 01/12/2025 18:46

I had exactly the same from Evri last week and even received an email from the retailer to say my parcel was being returned to them as the recipient had refused delivery, when there had been no attempt to deliver it. Evri knocked the next day and delivered it, they had just input the refused delivery in their system. In the meantime, I’d reordered the things I wanted and then needed to take them back for a refund, so maybe wait a day or two and see if they deliver your parcel.

I’ve genuinely never had an issue with them before this. It’s really surprised me

Evri is only good if your local courier is good. We’ve had great Evri couriers up until this last person. He updated a parcel as delivered and he didn’t even attempt to-
one of us was home all day. Two days later he delivered it. We were just about to open a case on eBay as it was an expensive car part and they didn’t believe we didn’t really get it as it said ‘received’. Had to apologise to them later when it turned up, as if it was our fault, after all the stress.
Im guessing they have a timeframe to deliver and if they don’t the, get penalised, so they are just updating the system to say it’s delivered before they do. It’s not good for customers because there’s no way you can prove they haven’t delivered it really (not everyone has a doorbell camera and those who do, don’t have one for the back door etc)

KittyWilkinson · 01/12/2025 19:32

Evri lost my parcel and delivered another one to the wrong address despite being told not to leave with thieving neighbour, and to use the parcel box with CCTV overlooking it. I was in at the time. Their customer service woman was nice enough, but eventually admitted that the depot wasn't answering her enquiry,

Previously, Evri delivered a two litre bottle of of drain cleaner through an open living room window, and placed it on the ledge next to the chair where a very unwell and bewildered relative with dementia was sitting. FFS. I was in another room at the time. I could hear the relative talking to someone and came into the room just as they were trying to pick it up. It was just in a clear plastic wrap. Not a problem if it had gone in the parcel box directly beneath that very window.

DPD is also instructed not to deliver to the neighbour and to use the giant parcel box. Yesterday, I watched the driver pull up. I went to the door to see him drive off having gone next door. DPD insists that it has been delivered and signed for by me apparently. Their photo is of the scally neighbour's hallway, his red socked feet, and not the photo of my house that they have on the app. I've a huge house number on the front which can't be missed. No trees or shrubs obscuring the house.

Amazon left a small parcel at my house, but on the floor, in the pouring rain, next to the empty parcel box. Then they ran away and didn't ring the Ring door bell.

I am a carer so I can't get out to the shops very often, hence the online shopping. It's been a nightmare these last few days. I was thinking it was just me but reading these other posts I see that it isn't.
