Why would a firebrigrade carry a person in this instance

The person obviously wasn’t fully unconscious as they remember the fire officer a bit. No pyscially injuries and no disabilities

Didn’t know if I was allowed to say but the reason was because she had taken too much of a medication that’s why she was in the state and normally she walks

But she was in this state and so it made sense to carry her. You're being very unclear about why this doesn't ring true to you. Your friend took too much medication, wasn't conscious, and came to being carried by a first responder. What is setting off your alarm bells? If she was capable of waking and walking, she'd have done that before getting to the point of being carried by a firefighter. If there's info missing and you think this was a would-be attacker trying it on, please elucidate.

But if someone was looking at the person then they are awake now

Oh FFS, what does any of this chickenfeed matter?
What will you do if it turns out (after your relentless probing) that she imagined the lift? Fine her €50 for a fib? Point and laugh?
What’s the big deal, at all at all?

So she overdosed then. I don't understand yet what your issue is? You say normally she walks, do you mean she normally walks every time she overdoses?

Dollymylove · 30/11/2025 13:38

Has your friend made a complaint to the services?

My Dad did that after decades of no mistakes- he was congiatively declining in other areas. As a precaution took medical advice - was surpised
he got an ambulance and they insited he was wheeled out to it on a bed - and he didn't lose consciousness at all just felt bit off and unsteady.

I don't know what your issue is with this person but emergency responders being ultra cautious with patients who may have more wrong that first appears really isn't unusal - they don't want further injuries.

They are the experts on scene and I don't think it helps for lay people to second guess their more informed actions.

MissMoneyFairy · 30/11/2025 14:15

How is your friend now or don't you really care that much.

Crunchymum · 30/11/2025 14:23

I suspect your dripfeed about the OD is the reason she was carried!!

Well if she'd overdosed it made sense that she couldn't walk.

I don't understand your interest. What's the issue here? What are you questioning and why? You think she's lying about being carried? So what if she is?

ThatCyanCat · 30/11/2025 14:26

Or do you think she's lying about overdosing?

What, she ‘normally’ walks when she’s overdosing?! Don’t be so bloody ridiculous.

Come on, what are you or your ‘friend’ REALLY trying to to imply about the fireman here? That he was copping a feel? Just say ffs.

What is it you claim to be concerned about, your so called friend od, isn't that enough for you. Does it matter if she is carried or walks, does this affect your life in any way.

Does she normally overdose on her medicine? Do you not think that might change the situation a bit?

Laserwho · 30/11/2025 14:57

The trained professional would have known what to do when someone over dosed. You do not, obviously

mefornow · 30/11/2025 15:24

You have said your friend was medically unwell, possibly unconscious, and able to remember the fire officers face “at one point”. So if she had overdosed, been unconscious enough to be put in a carry chair or harness to be carried and only remembers parts of the situation… then she was not safe to walk. They aren’t going to have just walked in and decided to pick her up and risk their own backs and safety for no good reason or as a bit of exercise. She was clearly out of it enough to warrant being carried. You still haven’t said exactly what about this situation is worrying you enough to make a post about it. This sounds like a standard situation which happens multiple times every day I assure you. If you have some sort of concern then stop beating around the bush and just say what it is! That way people can answer that directly rather than this post where multiple people have assured you this is a frequent scenario faced by emergency services and nothing about it sounds off from the description you’ve given

viques · 30/11/2025 17:01

Youwerewrong · 30/11/2025 02:06

She was awake enough that she saw his face when he was carrying her down surely they could have woken her to walk

So she is overweight, had overdosed, was semi conscious at best and they had to get her downstairs. Clearly they had to choose between patient safety and a firefighter doing their back in permanently by carrying an overweight semi conscious overdosed woman down stairs.

I bet they would regret their choice seeing how ungrateful your friend turned out to be by being saved from a possible fall

She normally walks? Is she normally unconscious? Does she walk when she’s unconscious? Why do you struggle to believe someone who is unconscious needs to be carried? Why do you not believe her?

TheShiningCarpet · 30/11/2025 17:56

I think instead of sleuthing your friends account of what happened you might be better off developing some critical thinking skills
