Why would a firebrigrade carry a person in this instance

The person obviously wasn’t fully unconscious as they remember the fire officer a bit. No pyscially injuries and no disabilities

Stop drip reading this already shit story.

FettleOfKish · 29/11/2025 22:07

DH was ‘flat carried’ fully conscious out of our 3rd floor flat by the fire brigade (down a spiral fire exit 😱) because his blood pressure was so low the paramedics didn’t want him to be upright. The lift isn’t big enough for a horizontal stretcher so down the staircase they went.

nocoolnamesleft · 29/11/2025 22:08

If they only remember the fire officer a bit, then they were almost certainly pretty out of it, and unlikely to have been in a fit state to walk anywhere.

LunaDeBallona · 29/11/2025 22:09

In WHAT Instance??
I went to see if I was on page 3 of this thread. It feels like I’ve missed all of the relevant information.
It’s always ok for the OP to-they know what they are on about!!

IcyPuddles · 29/11/2025 22:09

Carry them like what?

DameMargaretofChalfont · 29/11/2025 22:10

Bloody hell OP - a bit of context wouldn't go amiss.

PatThePenguin · 29/11/2025 22:11

PollyBell · 29/11/2025 21:59

Wouldn't it be better to give a full story and stop drip feeding?

Yeah I feel like we're playing some sort of weird Christmas board game, where we have to guess what the OP's going on about.

UniversalCreditBitch · 29/11/2025 22:11

Jesus. The suspense is killing us.
Does this makes you feel important? Having lots of people ask you things?

Littletreefrog · 29/11/2025 22:12

Presumably because the situation made it necessary in some way. Firefighters tend not to go grabbing people and carrying them about for no reason.

Needmorelego · 29/11/2025 22:13

Wait ....is the OP a cat and annoyed she was "rescued" from a tree?

Twistedfirestarters · 29/11/2025 22:16

If you don't know why they carried you and you were there, how would you expect anyone else to know if you don't give them any details?!

This.

Dollymylove · 29/11/2025 22:20

Well it was obviously an emergency situation if the fire brigade were there. So I wiuld suggest they were taking the casualty to a safe location

Blisterinthe · 29/11/2025 22:27

Even though I’m 100% sure this is a wind up I can tell you why.
because they didn’t trust the person to walk safely and if they hurt themselves more walking than it would be an insurance thing.
happened to me, was weird as fuck being carried down stairs in a gurney when I definitely could have walked them down; but I probably would have cracked my head open.

Halfquarterbag · 29/11/2025 22:28

To get to the other side.

Wasn’t a fire was medical related

They are called ‘Fire and Rescue’ for a reason.

arethereanyleftatall · 29/11/2025 22:31

In what instance? You forgot to say.

WetBandits · 29/11/2025 22:33

If they weren’t ’fully unconscious’ then they weren’t fully conscious. Semi-conscious people tend to not be able to walk very well.

JudgeBread · 29/11/2025 22:34

Hello I work for the fire service. Sometimes during medical incidents the ambulance service will call us to help us extricate a patient - sometimes it's because they're considered bariatric, sometimes it's just because the area we're trying to move them through is tricky, narrow or dangerous. Fire fighters tend to be better equipped to carry people than paramedics!

ReplacementBusService · 29/11/2025 22:34

They are woke snowflakes

So how would you expect them to move a person who was not fully conscious if not by carrying them? You haven't provided enough information as to location to assess whether there would be other options to move the partially conscious person to another area suitable for treatment.

PollyBell · 29/11/2025 22:54

Is this one of those philosophical existential questions asked of highly intelligent people at those corporate shag fest's?

GoodQueenWenceslaus · 29/11/2025 23:07

Presumably because the person wasn't conscious.

CottonCandyCake · 29/11/2025 23:13

Well that was a disappointing scroll.
