Why would a firebrigrade carry a person in this instance

The person obviously wasn’t fully unconscious as they remember the fire officer a bit. No pyscially injuries and no disabilities

I think the OP has cut and run.

Or been carried off - conscious or otherwise - by a firefighter.

Loving your work 😄

meghansturkey · 30/11/2025 11:04

Gosh I only dream about this 😂

BertieBotts · 30/11/2025 11:05

I mean TBF, I've been pushed in a wheelchair in hospital a few times and when I said I could walk they said no no just stay in the chair, it's OK.

I think certain medical worries if they are concerned about your balance and coordination they wouldn't risk letting someone walk.

Award for the most pointless thread of the day goes to the OP 🙄

I'm nominating it for most pointless thread of 2025.

Quite an achievement really, considering all the strong contenders 🤣

Seven pages of posts and I still have no clue what actually happened

I'm pretty sure the OP hasn't either.

Dollymylove · 30/11/2025 11:14

I dont know a great deal about the machinations of the Emergency Services but I do know that just one little word or one act that someone finds offensive or incorrect can send a career down the toilet faster than an avalanche crashing down the Alps.
The fact that someone could have saved you from certain death doesnt seem to count

Zov · 30/11/2025 11:15

What a weird and bizarre thread. Confused Presumably they carried this person out because she couldn't walk properly at that particular time...........?

viques · 30/11/2025 11:15

Youwerewrong · 29/11/2025 21:57

Wasn’t a fire was medical related

So what is the problem? Did they drop them and cause further injury? Or dislocate a shoulder or a hip or exacerbate an existing problem? Or have a sneaky grope? Are you suggesting that we carry cards or wear medi alert bracelets saying DO NOT CARRY so this issue doesn’t arise in the future?

justpassmethemouse · 30/11/2025 11:23

If someone was unconscious, it’s probably not a great idea, upon them waking, to plop them on the floor and tell them “on your bike, you’re awake now.”

NeighbourProblems3 · 30/11/2025 11:30

Oh FFS…so obviously the fireman fancied your friend and wanted to carry her. Happy now?

usedtobeaylis · 30/11/2025 11:30

What an odd thread

MJMa · 30/11/2025 11:33

What a strange thread

Yep, a slight wince due to movement when mobilising the “friend” from previous injury of the ff in this case could end up being evil, offensive, discriminatory actions with a complaint against them for injured feelings!

Allergictoironing · 30/11/2025 11:52

You can be awake and still not fit to walk anywhere yourself! Dizziness, generally feeling faint, severe intestinal pain, going into and out of consciousness, even migraine.

Give more details, you couldn't possibly get a reasonable answer without that. Medically unwell can cover such a multitude of potential condition.

BlueRidgeMountain · 30/11/2025 12:02

PatThePenguin · 29/11/2025 21:52

When people aren't fully conscious they tend to be a bit rubbish at walking.

Edited

When i fell unconscious due to carbon monoxide poisoning, a firefighter carried me out the house. Although i had regained consciousness by this point, and was talking to him (can even remember his face), I was indeed a bit rubbish at walking.
I mean, come on OP, you really can’t imagine a scenario where someone might be (or appear to be) conscious but not able to walk?

No she said she felt medically unwell and was possibly unconscious at point

I assume because it was deemed necessary by the professional on scene.

I blipped past one of those ambulance shows - they were insisting on carrying a small boy they'd been called by GP they were at due to his readings - he was asthmatic - the mother was oh he can walk he can walk to ambulance - they explained later they carried despite mother wanting him to walk as it was equilent to getting the young boy to run up a really high air thin moutain and they didn't want to stress his system further.

I'm asthmatic and had family inssit I was fine - when I was struggling to get across a room - so stayed with me. Though they also argued aother relative blue lighted to hospital was fine but went straight into intenstive care and A&E doctor wasn't very nice to my relative who was insiting it was all so necessary.

Youwerewrong · 30/11/2025 13:05

Didn’t know if I was allowed to say but the reason was because she had taken too much of a medication that’s why she was in the state and normally she walks

So they needed to get her to medical assistance.
So what exactly is the issue??

I’ve ODed and been stretched down stairs as the POLICE deemed it dangerous for me to walk down stairs so they called the fire brigade, here paramedics and firefighters are equally trained, hauled into a police car and to the hospital where they wheeled me in. I felt good to walk until I stood up hours later, against medical advise, and collapsed.
So yes, I believe her. Better safe than sorry.

Update doesn't really make the original question asked any less weird
