To wonder what on earth has happened to Stacey Solomon’s instagram?!

Hello.
I will preface this by saying that I do like Stacey, SYLO is a brilliant show.
However. Her instagram has become completely extraordinary recently - it’s constant selling for Amazon. One day it’s random Christmas decs, the next day it’s Oura rings. She was trying to flog a jetwash earlier this week!
She used to do crafty bits and easy recipes and show us lots of pics of her ducks and nice kitchen. But now it’s just incessant flogging of crap!

Each thing she shills seems to follow a certain pattern:

  1. here’s a thing she’s doing using an item while chatting. Item is front and centre but never mentioned.
  2. shortly after comes an update ‘so many of you are asking….here’s the amazon link
  3. she then tells us to keep it in our baskets for reasons, I don’t know.

Last night she was wittering on about making an Amazon storefront to load all her tat onto, whatever that is.

The formula is incessant. She can’t be short of money so why the change in direction and obsession with Amazon, I wonder? Aibu that it never used to be this blatantly sales-y?

I didn’t know about the cookie thing! And I read somewhere, so it must be true, that each insta post earns her £12k…..

NewGoldFox · 21/11/2025 19:52

Can’t stand the woman. Marketed as a lovely mum but smoked through pregnancy - gross.

iremembersnappedandfarted · 21/11/2025 20:32

She doesn’t have her instagram to be friends with all her followers, it’s literally her shop front.

Shes recommending a piece of Amazon tat in the same way as a DFS salesman tells you his leather reclining corner sofa is the dogs b*llocks.

Tofufuton · 21/11/2025 20:35

Influencer influences.

Stop paying attention to them and their revenue will soon go down.

Zov · 21/11/2025 20:40

Most influencers and content creators have paid sponsorship and they do advertising. I know a few such people personally, and they have 100K to 250K subscribers/followers, and they make a killing. They get paid loads to promote certain brands and goods. So SS doing this comes as no surprise.

IDontDrinkTea · 21/11/2025 20:42

Honestly she must have some incredible PR. Presents SYLO, yet is constantly peddling poorly made, cheap tat and over-consumerism. Always seems to be winning parenting awards and referred to as a ‘lovely mum’ yet literally bought a house that doesn’t have enough bedrooms and so shoved her teens in an annexe at the bottom of the garden. The overall public opinion of her seems to be the total opposite to what she’s like with even just a minor bit of research

NippyNinjaCrab · 21/11/2025 21:57

I use duck duck go to prevent tracking on the apps. It was recommended so many times on here.

pambeesleyhalpert · 21/11/2025 21:59

She used to really big up small companies so this is disappointing!

She isn’t hiding her wealth… it’s clear to see. And you are clearly following her so why bother if you hate her? It doesn’t make you better than her

Eh? I never said I was better than her.

I also never said she was hiding her wealth. But she does try to suggest she’s just like us with her “this is all a dream” shit.

She gets gifted a £40k holiday and puts “ad” in teensy letters in white font on an off-white background so it’s hard to see.

What I hate about folk like her is the “I’m just like you” persona when she’s really a hard nosed business woman. Fair play she’s made a fortune for herself but for me it’s on the back of grifting and fooling her followers.

I follow her because I like to get annoyed on a daily basis. Gives me lots to rant about.

TidyCyan · 21/11/2025 22:07

They do this with all mum-influencers as soon as they get a following. They become Amazon Affiliates, get taken out for a meal or similar and then boom! That's their entire content from October to Christmas.

LizzieSiddal · 21/11/2025 22:10

I unfollowed her a while ago. The whole persona of “a busy mum, muddling through” is so false now. Nothing escapes being used for money making including her kids and the very poorly dog 😢

chattyness · 21/11/2025 22:13

Another thing that annoyed me is the rehab your hair business she used to promote quite heavily but has now bought into, good for her and great for the founder ladies who developed it of course, happy for them to be successful. But... she always calls it "my brand" now instead of "our brand" that would pee me off no end if it was my biz.

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 21/11/2025 22:32

I come on Mumsnet and then end up googling loads of things - next up, benefits of Duck Duck Go 😉

Anyahyacinth · 21/11/2025 22:48

I was disappointed by 2 things handling the ducks etc..while bird flu meant there were UK restrictions in place and ignoring the genocide when she centres being a mother as her narrative..so just unfollowed.

TartanMammy · 21/11/2025 23:36

Social media is just QVC on steroids these days.

I used to like Stacey as she'd built her career from to talent (singing) and hard work, but she's just like the rest of the grifters now.

Froginaskirt654 · 21/11/2025 23:48

I like SS but surely no one is under any illusion that sm is no more than a marketing tool nowadays? It’s a business. Nothing more. Nothing less. SS has been very savvy.

There is an influencer for the posh country set called Ask Charlie How and hers is exactly the same! She is basically flogging skin care in the morning, clothing in the afternoon and her own culinary based products in between while sharing baking skills and lifestyle tips,

These people spend huge chunks of their lives, filming and editing and working with brands that suit their niche, It’s how marketing is done nowadays so few of us are watching tv.

It seems more personal than that because they share their homes and lives to a degree but the ultimate objective is £££££.

It makes me laugh because the Ask Charlie lady is always saying that “she has bought a few bits” and unpacks them on the vlogs , and they are often blouses or jumpers costing upwards of £200 each! But she has earned it I guess so fair enough!

justasking111 · 21/11/2025 23:48

It's a problem with influencers that eventually destroys them. I know one who won't touch Amazon or any company that does this. She says it's immoral and destructive. She went to an event recently only the second time in five years. The fakeness of some of them was breathtaking. Some however, were really nice.

She'll never make the big bucks but she sleeps at night and has a life outside the madness of it.

Edited

I like following the animal ones. They're not flogging anything but an overload of cuteness.

Octavia25 · 21/11/2025 23:53

Urgh I can’t stand her! I don’t understand how people can’t see through her 🤨

tothelefttotheleft · 21/11/2025 23:55

Tryingatleast · 21/11/2025 18:23

prob she has a deal with them, no better person to become properly rich!

What makes you say that?

Gingercatlover · 22/11/2025 00:08

Haven’t read all the comments but quite a few and can’t see anybody mention that these adds should be marked as Aff link shouldn’t they?
Don’t follow her so don’t know if they are or not?

Goldenbear · 22/11/2025 00:29

I think when she does the house clear outs it's quite impressive as most (all) of the houses are unbelievably chaotic but she turns it around.

Sunshineandshowers861 · 22/11/2025 00:39

Dabralor · 21/11/2025 18:37

Well. I. Never. So she earns off me the moment I click her link.

At Christmas, during a cost-of-living crisis. My word.

I’ve just checked and was feeling bad that there is a new content about her duck pond and kale. However, boom- the next story it all starts again with her son and some crappy racetrack. Mystery link with no price or mention of Amazon pops up straight after. So she’s goading hapless mums like me into clicking the link to see how much the racetrack is and then earning money off my naivety. My mind is blown.

I don’t understand how people don’t know this? Why do you think she’d bother putting all that stuff on instagram if she wasn’t earning money from it?!

They are properly marked and she’s done stories explaining exactly how she earns money from them too

onceuponatimeinneverland · 22/11/2025 01:16

It's all a bit mad at the moment because of black Friday, the run up to Christmas etc. SS is normally good at putting ad/ affiliate link on her stuff.

All the influencers are doing it. It's a bit boring really.

I unfollow influencers who don't label their ads properly/ at all
I do click on links if I want the product .
I also click on links deliberately knowing that the influencer will likely get commission - if I like their content so as a sign of appreciation as I generally don't do patreon etc.

What I currently find annoying is the 'write xxx in the comments and I'll send you the link' .

Also if anyone can tell me how to view posts by newest date rather than by most liked i would be eternally grateful. I'm a great fan of chronological order. Was slightly discombobulated earlier as I was following a new page and she was pregnant in one post and then stick thin the next I begrudge having to go into comments to see the published date.
