AIBU that this is the most ridiculous thing for a company to claim.

"Can a transgender woman have a period? Absolutely. Many trans and gender-diverse people menstruate. Whether you’re a woman, a man, non-binary or agender, your body may menstruate too."

they can however get PMS. Trigger by the synthetic hormones they take.

They can't.

Women experience PMS due to fluctuations in hormone levels throughout the month due to their menstrual cycle.

Men don't have menstrual cycles. Those who take female hormones take a consistent level throughout the month. Ergo, no fluctuations.

They cannot experience 'pre menstrual' anything as they do not menstruate.

Wow, so bigoted. What about uterus-havers who identify as men who identify as women?

What kind of zoo animal is a uterus haver? I have a uterus and Im a woman.

CapacityBrown · 21/11/2025 17:09

No, the article clearly states that "some trans women" don't have uteruses which infers that other trans women do.

Whilst the article does talk about the apparent causes of periods by hormones, basically calling something that isn't a period a period.

basically calling something that isn't a period a period.

Its those pesky words having meanings again that's causing the problem.

I am so fed up with people 'innocently' trying to redefine words to mean what they want them to mean, then getting all pissy when anyone notices.

So modibodi are trying desperately to be inclusive of men. Why stop there? Why not market their tat to post menopausal women who wish they were younger?

I mean, it makes as much bloody sense (more, really).

Its ageist of them to only market their products to young people

🙄

This ridiculous rhetoric from the left just pushes more people towards conservatism.

The concerning thing is while people are arguing whether or not a genetic male can release menstrual blood from their uterus every month (they can’t) then we aren’t discussing the real issues.

That's one of the real issues. The treatment of women worldwide is not a side issue. It's up there with war, pestilence, death and whatever the other one is...Seriously, women's issues are not side issues, they are important. Women are more than half of humanity and we are constantly told that our niche needs must wait upon the great upheaval being sorted - whichever one it is. Fed up with waiting, thanks. We'll deal with our issues and then sort out whatever is left (it won't be much).

“Many trans women have periods. Some trans women don’t have uteruses, so they won’t bleed as part of a monthly menstrual cycle. But the hormonal experience of menstruation can still be very real.”

Modibodi thinks some Trans women have uteruses?

Edited

Modibodi simply doesn't seem to understand the difference between transmen and transwomen.

Obviously many trans men have periods.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/11/2025 12:48

How?
How to transwomen have periods?
Where does the blood come from?🙄

They probably also sell tomato sauce snd pads/tampons so that periods can be “authenticated”.

catontheironingboard · 21/11/2025 19:26

@Caplin My mention of GCSE biology upthread was nothing to do with chromosomes: it was to do with having to draw a nice labelled diagram for my GCSE biology, way back in the early 1990s, of all the hormone variations during the menstrual cycle, including the release of the egg and the production of the corpus luteum (which then goes on to produce progesterone and trigger the pituitary gland to produce more, and so on.).

Didn’t you ever do this? (Is your biology education not up to scratch?) Hint: taking oestrogen as a trans woman is nothing like a period and has nothing in common with any of the cycle that produces a period or period “symptoms” in women.

You’re welcome. Enjoy the facts along with the wine!

Caplin · 21/11/2025 16:45

And can the TERFs please bugger off with their ‘biological facts matter’ crap on this board. First off, a GCSE in biology does not make you an expert. The biology of chromosomes is actually far more complex, who knew! And let’s not even start on neurodevelopment, which is also biology. The fact is trans people have existed throughout history, so there is clearly a biological reason for them existing in all nations at all points through time, even if we don’t fully understand it. Screaming that people are lying or ignoring biology is wilful ignorance.

sorry for the rant, it has been a long day and I have truly had it with this hate filled nonsense which does real damage to people I love and their families.

I’m off to drink wine. And no, I’m not getting into this with anyone.

I’ll bite, as a card-carrying TERF (ie no entry to female-only spaces. This does not mean ‘No entry anywhere, under any circs, and kindly go away’)

Biology matters above pretty much everything else, really, given the demands made.
But on your specific point, yes we all know chromosomal anomalies do occur and this has never been denied nor was it ever wished away.
These cases though are not transgender individuals.
‘Transgender’ is dangerously and irresponsibly being employed increasingly as a catchall term for anyone not adhering to the strait and narrow in terms not only of gender presentation, but also sexual orientation, and as we see here, chromosomal idiosyncrasy.

Quite why this'd be the case is open to question, though census findings spring to mind, and the uses to which resultant statistics are put.

Anyway, Enjoy your wine.
Ive certainly used up a month’s allowance of ranting for one day.

No, they mean trans women, and they understand the difference. The link in the OP takes you to the full text, but this is a more expanded quote:

Many trans women have periods. Some trans women don’t have uteruses, so they won’t bleed as part of a monthly menstrual cycle. But the hormonal experience of menstruation can still be very real. Some trans women undergo gender-affirming treatment in the form of feminising hormones. These hormones can result in a range of physical and emotional symptoms - there’s a list of symptoms, none of which are bleeding, then - For many trans women, this is their period.

Tbf I think they should double down and start selling a Tans Woman Period Kit that contains

  • chocolate because women always eat chocolate when they have a period,
  • tissues for all the weeping,
  • some pink pyjamas and fluffy pink slippers for all the lolling about women do when they have a period,
  • a hot water bottle with a fluffy pink cover for those cramps
  • a dvd of some soppy romance

And not forgetting, of course, to add a pair of really short gleaming white shorts.

Those short will be an essential part of every trans-woman wardrobe for when they go rollerblading as per all those sanitary towel ads that we used to see all over our televisions, just to show how very effective those modibodi period pants are.

This diagram needs to be shown to many nowadays, sadly, facts are being lost, poor children, no wonder so many are confused.

The bollocks that men and their handmaidens push through the trans ideology. You cannot change sex. Biological men don't have periods or uteruses. Unbelievable that this needs repeating.

Utterly ridiculous. They say on their website "some trans women don’t have uteruses" - which implies, completely falsely, that some do!

I agree but some do have uteruses

Transwomen are men, so no they don't.

Extremely rare DSDs do exist, but there is zero overlap between these individuals and trans identification

Yes, the menstrual cycle is long established knowledge, and yet no one seems to point this out to the “trans women have periods” brigade.

It’s actually progesterone, not oestrogen, that controls the menstrual cycle; and very few transwomen ever take progesterone to start with. Even if they did, it would be a static dose like “gender affirming” oestrogen.

Why else do they think the progesterone-only pill would prevent one’s period? It’s because it’s the drop in progesterone at the end of the cycle that triggers both PMS and the period. The drop in progesterone allows prostaglandin production to increase in the muscle of the uterus and surrounding tissues, which is what causes period pain and cramping. (Prostaglandins are hormone-like substances that cause inflammation and pain, and stimulate muscle contractions in the uterus.)

Taking some oestrogen isn’t even the right hormone to cause period “symptoms” even if they took a cyclical dose - which they don’t.

Surgical procedure

I’m going to tell you this for free: there have been ZERO cases of a successful transplant of a uterus into a man, anywhere ever in the world. (What blood vessel systems would it connect to, for one thing?)

The genderists aren’t sending their best today, are they 😆🤣
