What the heck! Trans women get periods apparently

AIBU that this is the most ridiculous thing for a company to claim.

"Can a transgender woman have a period? Absolutely. Many trans and gender-diverse people menstruate. Whether you’re a woman, a man, non-binary or agender, your body may menstruate too."

From their website-

Many trans women have periods. Some trans women don’t have uteruses, so they won’t bleed as part of a monthly menstrual cycle. But the hormonal experience of menstruation can still be very real.
Some trans women undergo gender-affirming treatment in the form of feminising hormones. These symptoms may occur at the same time each month, just like premenstrual syndrome (PMS). For many trans women, this is their period.

They don't even understand the audience they are trying to attract. Trans women take hormones every day, it is not in a monthly cycle with different fluctuations of hormones like it is for biological (real) women. They are literally just making shit up now.

The human race has run it's course. It's time for a giant asteroid/deadly zombie plague/nuclear Armageddon/insert your choice of world ending catastrophe.

I agree, in deadly earnest.

Oddly enough I did this morning, quite before this thread, see an ad for Modibodi. It had a very skinny young (cis) woman in their pants. I've never worked out if they are meant to be worn instead of tampons/ towels/ ye olde Hoiked tissue paper wedge or as a backup. I mean, why use that and then have to soak it or whatever and then laundering. I did wonder if they would try and enlist Dylan thingy. I guess they will

I wear period pants at night, as well as a tampon, so that my mattress and protector don't get ruined. But some who don't have overly heavy bleeding just wear them in place of sanitary pads, as they're more environmentally friendly.

katseyes7 · 21/11/2025 15:33

I saw a post about this on social media the other day.
Male to female trans person saying they were having periods, and going into graphic detail about it.

I genuinely have no problem with transexuals of any kind. So long as they're happy and not harming anyone else, be what you want to be.
But seriously, that is deluded at best, and at worst a mental health issue.

SheinIsShite · 21/11/2025 15:33

Trans women’s periods are just as real and valid as anyone else’s,

What a load of bollocks.

This utter bollocks is minimising what so many women go through every month with periods. Sleeping on a towel because of flooding, anaemia, changing sanpro every hour, fibroids, pain. GP not doing anything because "it's just one of those things". Yet we are supposed to simultaneously "affirm" someone who claims they are going through just the same thing as women every month even though they don't have the equipment?

Seriously. Unhinged.

Boomer55 · 21/11/2025 15:34

Of course they do. Biological men are known for having periods. 🙄🤷‍♀️

Said no one ever.

It’s just outrageous shite, isnt it? I don’t know whether young girls around eleven are still clueless about periods like I was in the mid-60s, but to read all this kind of thing you'd not know East from West.
If a girl wasn't getting any helpful info from anyone close, she could be absorbing all kinds of nonsense.
Well, boys too of course. God knows what youngsters make of it all. Just saying ‘Live and let live’ and to hell with biological differentiation is not useful at that age.

Littlejellyuk · 21/11/2025 15:36

I don't understand, where is the blood coming from? Their arsehole? 🤔
If a man is bleeding down there and doesn't have a uterus, then he needs to click his heels and toddle off to the GP pronto!

Letthemeatgateau · 21/11/2025 15:37

The best thing any of us can do to help end this nonsense is stop buying from companies like Modibodi. That's the only way they'll pack it in.

SanFairyAnnie · 21/11/2025 15:38

They are run by an Australian team according to Companies house and there's a correspondence address.

Seriously? Some transwomen i.e. males don't have uteruses? No transwomen have a uterus and they don't have a menstrual cycle ( you need a female reproductive system for that) they are merely experiencing the rather unpleasant side effects of taking cross sex hormones.

Panama2 · 21/11/2025 15:40

Oh FFS

VickyEadieofThigh · 21/11/2025 15:41

"Some transwomen don't have uteruses..."

That's quite an astonishingly gaslighting statement - ZERO transwomen have uteruses!

5128gap · 21/11/2025 15:44

Muffinmam · 21/11/2025 15:28

This ridiculous rhetoric from the left just pushes more people towards conservatism.

The concerning thing is while people are arguing whether or not a genetic male can release menstrual blood from their uterus every month (they can’t) then we aren’t discussing the real issues.

I don't think 'the left' can be held responsible for the actions of a global company with £14 billion market cap seeking to exploit another source of profit. Any more than 'the left' are behind the big pharma supplying the drugs that (allegedly) mimic some of the 'symptoms' these individuals claim to experience. If anything this should serve as a timely reminder to 'the right' about how unscrupulous capitalism can be.

champagnetrial · 21/11/2025 15:45

It's the oddest addition to the site. Grown-ups know about periods, right? So if, as the article seem to be implying, it is a perfectly normal, 'validating', nothing-to-see-here moment, why are they explaining it - and to whom? And why in such infantile language? It's the 'mummy laid an egg' or 'special cuddle' of period pants.

Unless...no wait....unless it's an exercise in 'persuasive writing'

surprisebaby12 · 21/11/2025 15:47

Does it matter? Trans people are an extremely vulnerable minority that is persecuted on all fronts every day. Just let it go.

Another ‘gem’ from that website, ‘Bottom line is, people of all genders menstruate. Trans women’s periods are just as real and valid as anyone else’s, so…’. blah blah…

(Why am I wasting time on this when I’ve got 14 horrible houseworky jobs to do??)

Well that doesn’t make any sense.

If a transwomans male body can make a womb just by believing they are a woman then surely a transman can think away their womb just by believing that they are a man

You can’t have it both ways

Or maybe their marketing team need to learn what a period is before making ridiculous untrue statements

Transwomen have a side affect of the hormones they are taking.

Note to company

Learn the difference between a side effect and a period

TheKeatingFive · 21/11/2025 15:50

I think we're all over being told that men who want to pretend they get periods are an extremely vulnerable and persecuted minority.

Ablushingcrow · 21/11/2025 15:51

Sounds like the sort of bs Dr evil, aka Helen webberly would say, what with her being batshit.

So, because a group that you consider extremely vulnerable male people is not only gaslighting women and girls, but also being lied to themselves by anyone who supports this fetishising of female body functions, no one should express an opinion or highlight where companies are harming their primary market, who also happen to be female people?

We should be 'kind'?

Good to know.
