To say that women look bloody weird ….

.. when the only part of their face that moves is their mouth and eyes.

And don’t get me started on the massive fish lips.

Never see any naturally beautiful young women on TV these days. Such a shame

They look awful, thing is normal people are doing it too. I've noticed since my youngest child started school this year the proportion of mum's with facial paralysis and fish lips has soared compared to mums in my 2 older children's classes (there's only a few years between them all). The thing is it's the younger ones who are doing it more than the older mums.

I love it when I see women on telly aging gracefully, they look so much better. I do wonder why actors and actresses do it, it doesn't exactly help them act when their face is totally frozen.

Agreed. Someone like Katie Price was so beautiful and she needs psychiatric treatment rather than more plastic surgery.

I think you feel you’re saying something positive here but, in reality, there are way too many comments on here around female beauty without any awareness of how this feeds the aesthetic industry.

Should women only be on TV if they’re pretty as opposed to being talented, interesting, knowledgeable etc? And then we’re outraged that many men see women purely as sex objects.

Blimey, you haven't just touched some raw nerves here OP.

You've positively rubbed salt into them by the looks of some of the defensive replies 😳

PollyBell · 20/11/2025 23:31

Ok I will ask outright, who genuinely thinks fillers/beauty surgery, and fake breasts, tan and nails, eye lashes and brows, hair looks good, not I will just say it looks nice to keep them happy

and yes on men too

Who really thinks fake looks good on anyone?

Add dirty looking hair extensions to that list!

SparklyCardigan · 20/11/2025 23:40

I actually feel very sorry for women like this. Imagine being so delusional and vain that you pay good money to wreck your face.

I know! Thankfully, the majority seem to understand the point I am making so I can cope with the minority rabid responses 🤣🤣

🤣🤣 Thanks Mum

I’m cringing for you. How childish and daft you’re making yourself look.

What were you hoping to achieve from this thread?

Do you genuinely want a discussion on aesthetic treatments or did you just want to be goady and invite equally unpleasant women to agree and bash others on how “bloody weird” they look with their “fish lips”? Ghastly terms btw, you sound absolutely delightful.

The substance and Dorian grey are satirical cautionary tales. The patriarchy as always has a hand in this stuff as well as ego, vanity and in my opinion the primary driver is fear, of being over looked or left behind or not seen at all.
It’s no surprise when you see many before pictures that the women and girls were often naturally more beautiful in their before pictures yet somehow they’ve become convinced that they are not enough as they are.
sad times. And even sadder seeing the botched cheap jobs .
around town I see people who look truly terrifying , out with their kids, body builder tan, tattoos on make up, weird shape lips, lashes for days and I think they probably only look good in a filtered pic and full make up. Without make up the looks don’t work.
with make up it’s a caricature.

CherrieTomaties · 20/11/2025 23:31

Agree!

It’s only the bitterly insecure and unhappy people who feel the need to comment on other people’s appearances.

(They’ll try and disguise it as “oh I’m only concerned for the younger generation who are influenced to get treatments” but they don’t give a shit. They bash other women and belittle them to feel a bit better about their pathetic selves).

I think that is a rather extreme, narrow minded view of people who find the relatively recent trend of injections, filler and surgery on people under 40 as concerning.

the ‘they’re just jealous’ response to anyone who might be even mildly critical sounds a bit playground and lacks nuance.

im almost 50 and can say I’ve never needed to consider plastic surgery, or Botox until the last couple of years. I’d happily sign up for it now.

im also not sure that it’s only ‘the bitterly insecure’ who comment on other people’s appearance. Surely there would be no beauty industry if we all just walked around appreciating people’s inner souls?

and maybe all these old ‘bitterly insecure’ women have been round long enough to see beauty standards change completely. Ask anyone who plucked their brows in the late 90’s/00’s how bloody annoying it is having hardly any eyebrows in 2025! It makes me wonder how people will rectify their look when a more natural aesthetic becomes fashionable ( and it will, as fashion and beauty industry needs things to constantly change to keep us buying stuff)

Calm down and read the thread before kicking off 🤷‍♀️

I don’t bash other people for their appearances.

Ok what is one positive thing about faking yourself to look good? is the end result ever achieved where someone genuinely looks better than being natural, and I am not speaking of corrections due to medical conditions or surgery but having a ''standard'' body before and then faking it?

Talking to people who have overly fucked with their face is like talking to someone with a mask on. I find myself distrusting them

Or did you just want to make your pathetic self feel a tad better by trying to belittle other women?

The worry is that it's younger women having it done now, before having any children.
All the filler and whatever else stays in the body.
I worry it would affect a lot of pregnancies.

Are you trying to belittle me @CherrieTomaties?

Maybe her face is frozen so only her eyes and mouth move 🤣🤣

But only the lower half of their mouth at best.

Makes it look to a lipreader as though their mouth is upside down - add in 5ml of filler and fuck knows what they're saying, it looks like how chimpanzees express insecurity.

Nananaaaas · 20/11/2025 23:57

I was shocked when I saw Kelly Osborne’s face earlier 😕
So sad. I know these women don’t love themselves enough, that’s why they’re like that but I hope one day they see their natural beauty and strip it all back because I have daughters and would hate them to think that it’s normal to look that way.

Crikeyalmighty · 20/11/2025 23:57

My H always says many look like they are auditioning for pantomime - ge thinks it’s hideous - maybe younger guys go for it though-so those of us a bit older don’t get the pressure many young women feel to confirm to a modern version of beauty

shuggles · 20/11/2025 23:57

@GoingbackwardsForwards .. when the only part of their face that moves is their mouth and eyes. And don’t get me started on the massive fish lips.

It's not socially acceptable to say this though.

There's nothing you can do about it, apart from accepting that this is how some people choose to modify their appearance.
