I’ve just bought myself a Malteasers Truffle one. What about you?

My lovely mum has bought me a Rituals one.

Lilacspring · 19/11/2025 07:44

I've bought myself a milkybar one😊

I'm amazed reading this thread.
I honestly don't think I know an adult with an advent calendar unless it's a cheap chocolate one that their parents still buy as a family tradition.

This is my first time in years having one and I'm delighted I treated myself to it. I love Christmas anyway.

I caved in & bought the Sainsbury's Beauty one. It was £20 more than last year (£40 with Nectar) but the quality was really good last year plus I used my Nectar points to buy it. Dd2 & I alternate doors each day then at the end we can swap stuff if we want to.

I've also got her a Cadburys Dairy Milk one that was half price in Iceland. Im going to be on the lookout for cheap ones during Dec/Jan as her birthday is 25 March & I always get her a countdown to birthday one too that she starts on 1 March!

squashyhat · 19/11/2025 09:02

DH and I always buy a picture one of a snowy villagy scene and take it in turns opening the doors. Both in our 60s, no kids. It's a tradition carried on from my childhood.

PeachyKoala · 19/11/2025 09:08

DH has bought me the Space NK one 🤭

MonsterBookOfTyson · 19/11/2025 09:09

I like the Terry's chocolate orange one. I keep forgetting to pick one up. I've got the kids ones though.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 19/11/2025 09:12

We've got a Lindt one - actually we've got 2 because last year we had 1 Lindt and 1 Galaxy and I felt hard done by when it was my turn to open the Lindt one (we alternate) and it never seemed to be the 'good' item, just a tiny little ball - somehow or other my husband managed to get most of the good stuff!!
I may be a bit old, at 51, to be this petty over chocolate!!

I don't get one for myself but I do absolutely love getting them for other people, this year my grandmother will be getting the Charbonnel & Walker Bond St advent calendar, my sister and her husband a Hotel Chocolate duo with a tin of proper hot chocolate flakes.
I haven't seen one I like for my mum yet so I may have to make her one and fill it with goodies.

Zitroneneis · 19/11/2025 14:00

I thought advent calendars are for children. We don’t buy them for any adults in the family.

Love that idea.

It's this one - although I see Amazon still appear to have some of the previous years ones still available more cheaply

Why don't you get one if you want one?

Have you read this thread? They clearly aren’t just for children. They’re tradition in my household. Everyone gets one…

Me: Lego Harry Potter
DH: Lego Star Wars
DD: Lego Minecraft & Cadbury Biscoff (I am slightly jealous of the Biscoff one)

QueenOfToast · 19/11/2025 17:17

This year I bought myself a yarn advent calendar from Hedgehog Fibres. It was pretty pricey, but I’ve had a rubbish year and decided to treat myself. There will be a pattern to follow (I think it’s a scarf/shawl) and I’ll do a little bit of knitting every day with each new mini skein.

Namechangedfortheterfasaurs · 19/11/2025 17:25

I have the Neuhaus 2 person advent calendar. It’s been an indulgence for several years now and I love it!

ThatWhiteElephant · 19/11/2025 19:14

I have the Bird & Blend Matcha advent calendar, I can’t wait for 1st!

Lokiswife · 19/11/2025 19:26

Pretty sure I still have half of last years galaxy 1, which fell down the gap of my tv unit!!! Not sure about this year!

NotDarkGothicMama · 19/11/2025 19:29

DH picked up the blue Lindor one 😋

tommyhoundmum · 19/11/2025 20:04

I got one for my daughter, a Lindt, and one each for the cat and the dog. I don't usually have one myself.

GinkoRebelFoxes · 19/11/2025 20:09

I have a nice paper one. I’m really looking forward to opening the doors and seeing the little pictures. (Even the bell, which was the world’s dullest picture when I was a child)
