Trump told a female reporter this. How come this behaviour is accepted but if it was former president Obama, people would have lost their mind. Obama had to practically be ‘perfect’. When Obama wore a tan suit, it was such a huge deal.

Racism is a sick illness.

I am here in the states and people just roll their eyes at Trump. I truly believe that voting machines were tampered with...or people just hate Kamala that much (female and of color may just be too much for some..??) Regardless, even my mother who voted for him are eating crow. He's screwed farmers, he's withdrawing food programs that feed children and poor people, he kills people off the Venezuelan coast willy nilly, food prices for everyone are going up, and i haven't even gotten to democracy yet. Calling someone piggy is the least of our problems. He's a pos.

Edited

It may be the least of our problems, but it's also symptomatic of the fact that what's happening is a result of institution after institution is inexplicably failing to stand up to him. Law firms, universities, business, congress, the media. He calls reporters stupid, piggy, ignorant, etc. and everyone just moves right on. No one calls him out. No one stands up to him. They cower and let the bully trample them.

Look at the Reith Lecture fiasco...

And we have a new one to add.

Ugly.

First ‘piggy,’ now ‘ugly’: Trump continues attacks on female reporters | CNN Business

The New York Times produced a detailed, data-driven report on President Trump showing signs of aging. The president, 79, responded by calling the female reporter who co-wrote the story “ugly.”

And no one supported her.

The White House press pack are such cowards. If a member of the Lobby was treated like that by Downing Street, the rest would walk out in solidarity.

What if walking out in solidarity resulted in the leader calling up a mob who might try and shoot you or burn your House down? Or finding some other way to ruin your life, because that's what trump enjoys doing to those who displease him

Yup. He just loves to destroy folk.

There is a vid on youtube of one of Obamas Correspondents dinners. And sure, he did not like Fox, but he joked with them.

And then he read out the names of the journalists who had been killed while reporting. Drank to them, a moments silence.

During this he reminded everyone of the importance of the 4th estate, and how while he might dread seeing what they write, it was their job to hold the elected and powerful to account. And their freedom to do so should never be compromised.

What a Statesman.

What does the USA have now. Sigh.

He wouldn't bother with journalists. He'd just take the opportunity to shut out even more of the legitimate journalistic outlets and replace them with another tranche of right wing loony podcasters and sycophants, but how much would it matter?

It's well past time for the media/press to rethink their access model of journalism. Because he's a narcissistic egomaniac, their swallowing all this and sucking up to him, reporting what he says, not what he does, is more rewarding to him than to them. Well worth reading Jay Rosen on how they should be covering him.

I agree.

The US has no PMQs, so Trump never gets the awkward questions.

The White House controls access. If the press say something he does not like, access is lost.
