Trump told a female reporter this. How come this behaviour is accepted but if it was former president Obama, people would have lost their mind. Obama had to practically be ‘perfect’. When Obama wore a tan suit, it was such a huge deal.

Racism is a sick illness.

I wouldn't say it's racism. The comment is par for the course for trump, but obama didn't behave in this manner so it would have been far more shocking for him to say.

Justaspy · 22/11/2025 18:46

People have to cool their hatred and to stop "misinterpreting" the truth.

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 18/11/2025 20:18

Why is he never brought to account for anything?

Probably the fact that everyone is shit scared of being sued by him as he's a billionaire. Extremely wealthy people shouldn't be allowed to run for presidency or prime minister here. The whole world is corrupt as fuck. It makes me sick to the stomach💩I wonder when we'll get to see these Epstein files...........

wantom · 22/11/2025 19:37

If Trump can run a third time, then so can Obama. Simplistic I know, but then again T might just declare himself as President and what reaction would there be to that?. Scary times, but I really hope that there will be an uprising if that happens. Wishful thinking maybe.

I'm not a political nerd, I just follow it at a high level without getting into the deep analyses. However I think Trump is getting away with it because the Republicans in Congress and the Senate and Red States refuse to criticise him openly, with some rare exceptions and look what happened there - MTG for example.

I wonder if the mid terms will change the flavour of things if the Dems wipe the boards. I don't know, as I said I'm a total amateur about all this.

What's the truth? And what's the "misinterpretation"?

You're being unreasonable because people are not accepting it. It's a major news story with a lot of condemnation.

But he’s not being asked to resign is he? The White House is accepting it. Media condemnation doesn’t matter a fig if those in power are not questioning whether he’s fit to continue in power.

cottoncandy260 · 22/11/2025 20:17

Switcher · 18/11/2025 20:38

It's currently the front page on the telegraph. Which tells you it's a pretty big deal. He's disgusting but not sure why you're trying to make it about racism.

OP is saying that if Obama had done it he would have been called out on it because a black man as a president cannot put a foot wrong. He has to be completely perfect, above and beyond what a white president would get away with.

However, I would say this has gone far beyond just race as to be honest, ANY other president bar Trump would’ve been ousted a long time ago. Trump is a dictator no one dares to question

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 22/11/2025 21:53

Emily Maitlis’s comment nailed it. ‘He has no argument, so he resorts to abuse.’ Or words to that effect.

Thinking rationally here; he said "Quiet, piggy!". Not the same as saying "Shut up!". He's not a fan of Bloomberg which she is a reporter for. The outlet is probably a heavily-biased news outlet favoured by Democrats. He was probably thinking a lot worse but was tame in his words given he was on camera. 'Piggy' is hardly insulting and if you find that it is, then, well, no advice for you from me. It's all tabloid fodder designed to rile people up, and it's worked.

Well I think the president of the United States calling a journalist Piggy is absolutely purple, juvenile behaviour. What does it matter that the journalist is from a paper which backs different politics?
As for quiet vs shut up, neither is acceptable in a reply to any question from a journalist to a politician, let alone one about Trump's ties to Epstein which that is absolutely acceptable to keep asking about.

esem · 22/11/2025 22:29

trump thinks he is an actual god and has the right to say anything to anyone
hes a prick of the first order and should be shut up by someone else
a very dangerous man indeed

KingscoteStaff · 22/11/2025 22:53

The most shocking thing is that NONE of the other journalists said a thing.
I’d just been teaching my class about being an Upstander, not a Bystander, and I was horrified.

TooBigForMyBoots · 22/11/2025 15:57

MGT has spent years being hated by the Left. 24 hours of being hated by the Right and she needs full security. It must be a bitter pill to swallow.

Good point.

If a British PM behaved like that to a journalist - or excluded any outlets that criticised him - the rest of the lobby would walk out in solidarity.

His wife and daughters publicly support him so they think it is fine. I’d say they think the same way. I think his granddaughters are a bit young to have come to a full realization of who their grandfather is.

I know his niece Mary thinks he’s a horrible human being. A bully and a coward who tries to wrestle the spotlight whenever he can, and tells ridiculous meandering stories no one is interested in. Yet dangerous - only because people allow him to be so. A creation of his father.

DuncinToffee · 23/11/2025 00:31

One of his granddaughters is already using the Trump brand for her golfing or some other kind of budding career.

Guess which ones tend to be armed to the teeth and have no conscience...

Yup.

Remember when she harassed David Hoog, a school shooting survivor in the street?

She said of him, quoting CNN, " “He’s a coward,” Greene says at the end of the video as Hogg walks away, claiming his activism was funded by billionaire philanthropist George Soros, who is often the subject of far-right conspiracy theories, and other liberals. “He can’t say one word because he can’t defend his stance.”

And now she claims she is a victim, of the exact same gun mad group she was cheerleader for.

Obama was on that list quite a lot though wasn’t he.

But this is an example of misogyny not racism.

I don’t think we know yet, do we? But if he is, and he raped girls/women, then he should go to prison.
What’s that got to do with Trump being a rude misogynist?

No Obama wasn’t on the list. But I think it’s a a good example of bots pushing false information to destabilise government.

Also, see ‘pizzagate’ and the pizza restaurant basement child abuse conspiracy is another example of a completely fictitious rumour flooding the MAGA heavy sites of the internet.
