Those who prefer it, are you between sizes? To me the most annoying thing about the new system is that you can't just filter by a specific size, you have to filter by items that go across two sizes, so half of what you see will probably be irrelevant and there's no way of telling until you click and look through the individual listings... unless I'm missing something?

Worse than that, if you are between 10 and 12 you need to search across 8-10 and 12-14 so FOUR times as many garments just to find one that might fit.

ThatChristmasMug · 11/11/2025 15:10

It's just as bad to buy or sell, no one wants to list an item to a range of size when there's an actual size.

And it's worst when you sell or buy kids clothes, a navy jumper is a navy jumper, but it must be listed in the "girl" or "boy" section. Fair enough with adults, completely pointless with a 3 year old.

that sounds a bit extreme for a discussion about.. Vinted 😂

How do you react when you have actual problems?

There's no need for this.
Just stop.

why are you picking on me? The OP is telling a poster to "fuck off", her words. I didn't insult anyone. I stand that it was a bit of an extreme reaction, especially in the context of a thread about Vinted 😂

You are the one who is trying to keep derailing the thread now

It's annoying, but you'll get used to it!

Sellers will hopefully also show photos of the LABELS so you can decide by yourself

That’s not helpful though as you’d have to click into the listings to see whether it’s a 12 or a 14 and with double the number of search results appearing compared to before it’s so much more time consuming to find something.

Yes this is my issue! Especially because I’m actually a 10-12, so it means searching through 8-10 for the 10s and 12-14 for the 12s.

MissyPants · 11/11/2025 15:47

What a ball ache, I've been listing some stuff under new sizing, but realised from this thread I now need to amend all of my old listings!

WindyBeech · 11/11/2025 15:48

For larger sizes the only option was 'other' as they weren't listed so it actually makes it easier to sell search some stuff now

Holluschickie · 11/11/2025 15:52

Back to the charity shops for me. Life is too short. And quite often so is the stuff I buy on Vinted! This just adds another layer of faff.

SilenceInside · 11/11/2025 15:52

It must be a very small percentage of sales that are of sizes bigger than a UK 30 though, @WindyBeech so I’m not sure it merits trashing the whole concept of single size categories.

SecretNameAsImShy · 11/11/2025 15:55

As a seller, I have had to go through all my listings as all the sizes had changed. Would have been nice to have had an email from Vinted to say "Hey, we are changing the classifications" but no. Algorithm obviously didn't resize existing listings.

I have now changed all my listings so that the size is in the heading.

The only good thing is that the size description is a little more representative. I was always a bit upset that a size 12 was a large!!!

WingBingo · 11/11/2025 15:58

Oops. I’ve just sold a pair of trousers that I realise say size 16/18 but are actually a 12. Bit of a pain

I am not sure, because seller won't know how to list accurately. I have an XL jumper for sale, it's really a 14. If I list it as "14", a buyer can complain that the label was an XL and my listing was inaccurate.

Vinted XL is now 20-22, so that doesn't work.

If I list it as a 14, Vinted will put it into the M (12-14) category, and that doesn't work either.

What I want is buy , and sell, either a size L or a size 10, no conversion. I might need to search twice, but at least it would be accurate. If I need a Zara 12, I look for Zara 12, I know it will be a different size in other brands anyway.

Gall10 · 11/11/2025 16:05

Beedeeoh · 11/11/2025 13:42

Yes it's shit and makes no sense at all. I want a size 14 not a 12-14!

Do you find all size 14 clothes in all shops are a few feet fit? I vary from an 8 (m&s) to 16 (Zara). And skecher shoes in 3 to Russell & bromley 6!

SecretNameAsImShy · 11/11/2025 16:07

I always do state in the description the size and if it comes up large/small etc and I also take photos of the labels so there is no room for error but having to go onto all my listings to change the sizes is a blooming pain!

hobbledyhoy · 11/11/2025 16:07

It’s utterly ridiculous and now far too time consuming to have to sift the 12’s from the 14’s.

I don’t know what they were thinking but it’s a bad idea, poorly executed.

Honestly, mostly. Primark I have to go 16 and M&S can be 12. But otherwise yes, a consistent 14.

I think the problem is a lack of cohesion about sizes. I'm an 18-20, some of my clothes are XL. Which didn't match Vinted's old sizing. So I'd search for size 18 and get loads of things that were listed as XXXL (or whatever they thought the equivalent was) which then said in the description that they were a size 26/28.

16-18 or 20-22 doesnt work for me as a category either though. I need 18-20!

worriedsickson19 · 11/11/2025 16:36

It’s very annoying when you already have items listed and have to edit all the sizing! Why??? It was fine before

WalterMittysPuppet · 11/11/2025 16:40

Ohhh...I'm glad you mentioned this OP because I didn't know! I've just searched for ladies cardigans, filtered on "XXL size 24-26" (I'm a size 20 but I have massive arms like a wrestler 😭) - and got a load of 16's!

I tend to just check the size on the label, assuming the seller has included a picture of one, but they don't always. It's definitely an annoying problem - hopefully it will settle down as people get used to it and sellers update listings. I start a new job in Jan, I was hoping to save on my new office wardrobe by buying through Vinted.

newaccountoldlurker · 11/11/2025 16:45

the amount of people losing their minds they are size 10 not an 8-10 🤯 the size 10 clothes haven't suddenly shrunk 🤦🏻‍♀️it's no different to before when you had to read a listing to know was something an actual size L or a size 12 which they classed as L, basic life skills at most.

size 14 listings are now showing as size 20-22. it’s impossible to search properly.

that's not that at all. Reading and trying to understand before you comment is a life skill too, try?

You’re missing the point. Go onto Vinted and select 8-10 and you’ll more than likely see a lot of clothes that are neither an 8 nor a 10.
And also I’m not losing my mind but it is frustrating to see something I like which I then see is actually too small as it’s a 10 when I need an 8. It’s just more time consuming.

Cherrysoup · 11/11/2025 17:11

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 11/11/2025 13:40

I think the new system is far more representative of the sizes. I always put a picture of the label and often write ‘Size L but more like a 16/18’ etc as previously a L was a 12.

And yet everything I saved in my size is now showing as UK size 20-22, but is actually 3 or 4 sizes less.

i have no idea how they can say these sizes are ‘more representative’ in their words. It makes searching for items impossible. 🙁
