with the sizing change. I buy 95% of my clothes from vinted. Just tried to look for a new coat and its too stressful. I don't think i can use it like this :(

give it a few days, Vinted have just retrospectively added the new sizing to current listings so a lot of things are out of whack. Once sellers have updated it I genuinely think the new sizings will be better.

@SunnyDolly yeah maybe it's where it's all out of whack, eg I just looked at a size 12-14 coat but the coat is actually a size 10! So it's impossible to find the right size atm. But maybe you are right in that it will be easier once all updated. I hate change!

I’m annoyed that they’ve made the change to women’s clothes and left children’s as they are. Trying to filter for clothes for a five year old for example I never know what to pick. Some will choose ‘5’ for 4-5 and some for 5-6. Same logic for 6 being for 5-6 and 6-7. So then I choose 5 and 6 to see more of what is actually available and have to search through the range of 4-5, 5-6 and 6-7!

YeezyBreezy · 11/11/2025 13:59

The sizing is weird. A size 8-10 would be too small for me but a 12-14 too big.

Why not just have it so you can list the actual clothes size as per the label? Most clothes have the numerical size anyway.

And if you have an item that’s an L for example, then list it as the clothes size and add the explanation to the description.

Clementine183 · 11/11/2025 13:57

Those who prefer it, are you between sizes? To me the most annoying thing about the new system is that you can't just filter by a specific size, you have to filter by items that go across two sizes, so half of what you see will probably be irrelevant and there's no way of telling until you click and look through the individual listings... unless I'm missing something?

@Clementine183 this is the thing. I have to now look at all size 10s and 12s for example just to find the size 12. Or am I missing something?

How do you manage in shops?!

In shops, you can filter the rack for the size you want. And you're not looking at hundreds of items. And they have shop staff to re-order and sort the items, and help the customers.....

I want size 14 clothes. All I'm getting at the moment is loads of size 12, and some incorrectly listed size 10s because people haven't updated their listings yet. The vast majority of the searches I am getting back are size 12s, and there is no way to filter the search down to just the size 14s. Which is what I want, and what you could easily do before.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 11/11/2025 13:55

Because the sellers haven’t updated their sizing as requested by Vinted. Here’s the conversation chart. Anything uploaded in the past few days and moving forward will be correct, anything prior sellers were asked to edit.

I'm a size 10-12 though, size 14 is definitely too big for me. They've changed what a size 10 means, I'm sure 99.9% of size 10 women would not include size 14 in their searches. I'd say a medium is a 10-12.

It's just seems such an unnecessary change and faff for a service that I used to find absolutely brilliant and easy enough to use :(

Katemax82 · 11/11/2025 14:00

If I'm buying specific brands I go by what's on the label. If they don't show the label I ask (apparently I'm XL as I'm a 14 but I'm a medium in Primark)

Beedeeoh · 11/11/2025 14:00

luckylavender · 11/11/2025 13:56

How do you manage in shops?!

Most shops sell 14 as a standalone size, I just buy that? But I barely use shops. I do 95% of my clothes shopping online.

Beedeeoh · 11/11/2025 13:48

Those who think it's okay, do you not use specific UK sizes? I know I need a 14 for almost everything, I'm in the middle of the size so a 12 will be too small and a 16 too big. It seems impossible to search for a 14? Am I missing something?

Add the number of your required size to the text in the search box, e.g. 'black leggings 14'. I already put the UK size in the title of my listings but sellers will soon learn that this helps if they don't already.

MyNeedyLilacBird · 11/11/2025 14:01

I hate the new system and hate dual sizing- why can't you just pick 8,10,12 14 etc or a s,m,l if that's how a brand lists sizing. I'm not a 12-14 just a 12!!!. Its frustrating

PrincessFluffyPants · 11/11/2025 14:02

I have a few items for sale on Vinted and got wind of the size categories changing from here yesterday and how they are causing problems as they don't properly equate to UK sizes anymore e.g a UK 10 top had been put into 12/14 category now.

I duly changed my listing categories back to what they should be, contacted Vinted to ask what's going on, get fobbed off by them twice via a chat bot and then think I will give it a go until the end of this week as I always have the size in my title and in the description anyway.

Went back on last night to browse for a new to me pair of jeans, put in size 10 for my search filter. Every pair that came back, bar one, were sized as 12-14 in Vinted's new categories. I tried checking each individual listing hunting for the elusive 10 but after the fourth attempt I just thought it was a waste of my time and bought from ebay instead within 10 minutes.

I usually keep one item of mine "bumped" and I can expect it to be favourited over a dozen times a day, yesterday it was favourited only three times and today so far only once. I believe this is down to lack of traffic now the categories have changed and no one can find the sizes they want easily and are giving up.

Anyone tried depop? Are there any other similar sites? Happy to go back to ebay, at least they know how to categorise properly.

Clementine183 · 11/11/2025 14:03

Even when/if all sellers update everything, though, isn't the same issue going to be there?! At the moment if I'm looking for a size 10 I'm having to look at "Small 8-10" (which is where it now correctly sits) and "Medium 12-14" (as 10 was formerly Medium). People correcting their listings will fix the second issue, but not the first, right? - so I'd still have to be sifting through the 8s to get to the 10s?!

AngryBird6122 · 11/11/2025 13:57

Thank you SO much for your invaluable input on this thread

That’s ok.

But yes, you do sound very stressed about this. 💐

GiddyRobin · 11/11/2025 14:03

Agreed. I'm a size 6, sometimes 8 fits depending on the style (something floaty usually), but I mainly look for size 6. Size 4 is too small and size 10 is too big.

None of the options are true to what I'd normally choose. It's weird.

Yep that’ll be it as a M used to align to a 10.

That doesn't make any sense to me either, Why can't they just list it under the actual size on the label?
I know some people love vinted but I find it too confusing and can never find anything

This doesn't work, literally the first item listed when I do this has "size 12" in the listing title.

SilenceInside · 11/11/2025 14:06

Even adding the size into the search terms doesn't help, as it brings back everything in the 12-14 category....

And, my default feed is trashed, as my Personalisation settings are now set to the 12-14 category, which again is pretty much entirely showing me size 12s, or the incorrectly categorised 10s. When I want 14..... It's made the site effectively unusable for me as a buyer. It's a total waste of my time trying to individually check each listing in the hope that it's the right size.

Hohofortherobbers · 11/11/2025 14:09

I just put the required size in my search, eg, new look jeans size 10. Filters to correct size, I don't bother with the S,M, L

FlappyFish · 11/11/2025 14:10

They appear to have changed it as people don’t think an L is a 12 or whatever it used to be. God forbid we just search by clothes size. If we know a brand we know if we go up or down.

Ah. Just read the above. Does it fo this now? I am used to it filtering to what seller has listed in their description

Both the algorithm and the seller will need to learn to prioritise the numerical size.

No you can't do this anymore :( You can only filter 8-10.

I've just done "new look jeans size 14". Of the first 8 results, one pair was a size 14. All the rest were 10s and 12s.

WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS ON MN? (CAPS TO GET ATTENTION SORRY) GO ONTO RANDOM THREADS AND THEN BASICALLY BULLY SOMEONE - NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC AT ALL, JUST TO HARASS OR TAKE THE PISS? NOT JUST ONCE BUT OVER AND OVER. BOREDOM? USED TO BE A BULLY AT SCHOOL AND NOW NEED A FIX? OR JUST PLAIN NASTY?
